            1. I don’t think it’s a fan boy as much as it’s a list of all the best nintendo showings for each category… and I would probably say smash would be nintendo’s best online game (I really hope so anyway).

        1. I’d go with that list, however I think Splatoon would get the best Online along with best original.

          1. True, we just need to see more of it. And Devil’s Third showed a lot of different multiplayer modes and content. I’m excited to find out more about Xenoblade Chronicles X’s online as well. Not to mention Smash Bro’s online.

            1. True, true! Nintendo is dipping their toes in the Online water. I’m excited for all the online possibilities in the future!

        2. Thanks for the correction as needed. :) This is such a sad fucking era of gaming we’re living in. All about shooters and graphics. Give me a fucking brake so can whack the next ranting fandork with it.

            1. Do not look into Sasori eyes for its great disrespect and he shaw scorn you like a women burned in the vision of her sexual heat. Take his hand and let him guide you to gaming light and truth. Stand towards him in opposition and he will revage you like his goddess Selina Ruiz…

              1. Valve Admiral GLaDOS

You mean the goddess in real life that rejected him? I think you should abandon ship from the church.

              2. you failed, sasori. Even your church exposed you. sexual heat?, do you mean that “benediction of the red ring of death” a.k.a “the butthurt orgy” where you play wth a ps move in your ass?.

              3. hahahaha, the only thing he knows about “sexual heat” is that he must use his hands!!!
“Take his hand and let him guide you to gaming light and truth”. eeeewwww, we all know what he does with his hands.

              4. Yes and now sasori can never talk to another woman for they will be seduced, and they will later accuse him of rape.

      1. I said it’s ignored in many categories, not ALL. Maybe you if you bother to read you may have spotted that. And appreciate the fact that I’m being a douchebag and typing a dickish comment

    1. They didn’t have any big games for those categories, and their was nothing, and if you think about it, the biggest things Nintendo announced were Mario maker, Zelda, slaptoon, new smash details, and only a quick mention of starfox. Then we only have 2 demo games that well most likely be part of a different game in the end. And since retro was absent and they made comments to 2D and 3D metroid games. Then most likely retro well have metroid to show next year

I suppose they finally announced xenoblade 2 as a thing but we saw it as “x” for a while now

      1. Hyrule Warriors ? Bayonetta 2 ? Super Smash Bros WiiU/3DS ?Xenoblade Chronicles X ? No mention of Codename STEAM in strategy games ? Yoshi’s Woolly World mentionned as a casual game while they explained that it would be a hard game (unlike the Kirby game that would have been much better in this category) ?
This choice is totally fucked up. Lots of big games must be there but are not even mentionned in any category. Just silly. I wonder who does those selections.
But of course, it is much better to put Evolve in 6 (!!!) categories, or Destiny and Rainbow Six in 4 of them (etc.). Of course putting other games such as Bayonetta or X would be awkward since they’re not TPS or FPS, so we will just ignore them. No one is awaiting Super Smash Bros, so we will only give it a little place in Fighting games. Simply ridiculous.
There are even more VITA games than WII U games. That is just totally absurd, we have not even heard of Vita during the whole E3…

        1. About the Vita part, WTF did you get that BS? Yeah, it has little bit more games but you forgot one tiny detail of that: Most, if not, ALL Vita games are PS3 ports and ports that exists on other platforms including iPhone for god’is sake. Nothing original.

        2. those trash 3ds and wii u games aren’t really big games whether gritty or not. just lame games.

          1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Do us all a favor and sell your Wii U and if you have a 3DS that too, they deserve a much better owner…

            1. he has to destroy his wii u. thus he can show us he has guts to destroy it (in youtube of course). also i think that this idiot wii u has been console banned

                  1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Hmmm you have a point there…

It still can be used to play games and brose the web even though Miiverse is banned which is a minor setback compared to games anyway…

                    1. i agree with you. but i won’t buy something from a guy that walks on the street acting like a crazy.

                      1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

                        Haha…

Well some Nintenpurification has to be performed on the corrupted unit first…

          2. Politics. & I’m sure the press feels snubbed by the distribution methods Nintendo used for E3, essentially cutting out the middleman. But mostly politics. Sadly, it’s not what you know but who you blow.

            1. But, anyone could watch Nintendo’s Digital Event, even the press. Why would it matter to them?

                1. That’s too bad. It’s still available right now if you wanted to watch it. No one has any reason to hold Nintendo’s Digital Event against them. Plus it was amazing!

      2. Nintendo can’t win with all there jegges and last gen system. At least xbox one showed true gameplay.

    2. How the hell did Smash Bros for Wii U didn’t win anything? They had a freaking tournament of hype. Critics are just favoring Sony and Microsoft exclusives.

        1. Same for Sony and Microsoft which all they showed was games that we already knew about. Nintendo delivered a few unexpecting surprises and games fans wanted to see for years like Star Fox. But no. That’s still not good enough for gamers to give Nintendo little more credit and respect for trying and its fucking disturbing.

          1. The star fox game was a bare bone demo. Miyamoto even said that the game wouldn’t be ready for a while because they needed a 3rd party developer to help with the game.

The game is faaaaaarr from done and it seemed like a despret move from Nintendo showing it off at this point in time. Kinda like Square Enix and KH3.

          2. Which is why Sony and MS are filling up the nominations. Nintendo didn’t show much titles that appealed to the gaming industry as a AAA game HERP DERP

            1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

So true. I guess this explains why so many in the gaming industry & community pretty much all agreed that Nintendo won E3 with Microsoft in 2nd place, & Sony in dead last. You’re so smart, Shuhei.

              1. If you ask me? All three did badly this year. This year seemed more of a demo for 2015 than anything else. Very weak showing for all of them. And I stand by my belief that Nintendo did show games, but not the type that you would typically consider for these type of nominations.

                1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

To be honest, I’d find it very pointless to have an E3 if the majority of games you are going to show will all come out within 6 months. There needs to be a balance between games releasing within 6 months & games that won’t release til 7 months or more afterwards. Otherwise, you might as well just save up the money you were going to use for the event & put it on more important stuff like hardware/software development costs, production costs, shipping costs, TV marketing costs, etc.

            1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

We’re sorry, Shuhei. We forgot the universe revolves around you & that everything you say is a fact. Please forgive us for not having faith in your Word.

      1. There are more multiplatform and third party games on that list than Sony and Microsoft exclusives. So I can’t really see how they are “favoring” them.

      1. (i mean… no one would have said yoshi’s island was a “casual” game, and i feel YWW should be held to the same standard as YI.. not because it looks cuter it means it’s casual)

        1. I don’t believe that it means casual as in iphone or Flappy Bird. It’s more that Yoshi is a game that you can “plug and play” There isn’t really a big plot to worry about so a few years from now you can just jump in and play and levels. For that reason, I consider most platforming games to be “casual” but not in the free to play sense. It’s really just a way that I think of games where you don’t need insane amounts of prep time or memory to get into the flow of things. (White Knight Chronicles)

      1. I thought April Fools passed already like..3 fucking months ago. COD..best action game? I would rather have Michael Bay produce an obnoxious FPS himself than waste more time with another COD rehash that changes nothing.

        1. Like how your 2D Mario games fail to bring anything new to the table? This year’s COD looks set to be better than Ghosts

    3. Nintendo is my Blood

Oh well, these things don’t mean much so I won’t hold out, i’ll be getting all the Nintendo games anyway

          1. your nintendo games are at the causal section, so why are you mad?ahh baby luigi wanted his game on the best action and rog list. ahhh

    4. Best of show: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS (simply because more was shown than Zelda U)
      Best RPG: Xenoblade Chronicles X
      Best Action Game: Bayonetta 2
      Best Online Multiplayer Game: Splatoon
      Best Original Game: Splatoon
Best Console Game: Smash Bros. for Wii U
Best Handheld Game: Smash Bros. for 3DS
Best PC Game: Far Cry 4
      Best Action/Adventure Game: Zelda U
Best Fighting Game: Smash Bros. for Wii U
      Best Racing Game: The Crew
      Best Social/Casual: Yoshi’s Woolly World
      Best Strategy Game: Codename:S.T.E.A.M.
      Best Indie: No Man’s Sky

            1. Nope not really. I play a wide variety of games. I just thought that Smash Bros. impressed me the most followed by Zelda U. Have you played any of the games shown off at E3? Besides two betas I doubt it. Have I played Smash Bros. for Wii U? You betcha and it was an absolute blast. Have fun waiting until 2015 jackass.

              1. I played almost everything on the E3 show floor this year save for Mario Maker. Problem? Are you sad you don’t own all consoles? Have fun waiting for any Wii U games till 2015 jackass

                1. Got any evidence of that? Plus I will be playing Bayonetta +Bayonetta 2 bundle, Hyrule Warriors, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, Sonic Boom, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U this year. So yeah I’m good. I also own other consoles but prefer PC for multiplats. Problem? You are very misinformed sir/ma’am/whateverthehellyouare.

    5. To be fair nintendo didn’t really have any big games in these categories although zelda wii u should’ve been in here somewhere. I mean what big RPG’s, Strategys, action games, sports games and pc games did they have to show?

      1. We’ve only seen a few seconds of Link riding Epona and using an arrow. Nothing special this year for TLoZ

          1. Nintendo is my Blood

Totally bro, if it is Zelda, it is going to be fucking amazing

ooo, why do we have to wait so long?

          2. Yeah, but that doesn’t automatically give it a best of show award. I’m sure Zelda U will be great, but this year the only thing they showed was art style, similar to Uncharted or Halo this year.

        1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

It was using the in-game engine with very beautiful artstyle AND graphics while also showing a huge open world, showing that the Wii U isn’t some weak ass last gen system like that idiot sasori thinks. So I think it deserves some kind of recognition even if it was a short trailer.

    6. Yeah, it seems like Nintendo is largely neglected in this list. I’m baffled by how many rehashes and sequels are being nominated when that’s what everyone gives Nintendo so much flack over.
It’s great that Splatoon is nominated twice though, especially getting in the online category, Nintendo hasn’t been a part of the “respected” online scene in a long while so this is great recognition.

I can’t believe that Code Name S.T.E.A.M. isn’t on here anywhere. I know it’s not highly favored but it’s a hugely innovative game! I can’t believe Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call made it on the handheld list yet STEAM didn’t. Nor did it make the strategy category. Again, the game is pretty innovative and new, how is it not being recognized? I really hope it’s not because everyone was hoping for a Metroid or Majora’s Mask and because it was anything but, everyone is automatically disappointed with this brand new IP.

          1. To be fair, there simply is not much you can change in a shooter, other than the setting, maps, weapons and vehicles.
And honestly, the same thing you just said could be said about racing games. Yes, even Mario Kart. Or what else do they change, other than vehicles, tracks, characters and some extra tweaks like the hover thing?

            1. And that’s my point, why throw a generic shooter on the list when you’ve got Bayonetta 2, that’s easily a fan favorite.

As far as Mario Kart goes, Nintendo has done a great job at keeping the redundant racers at least a little fresh. Double Dash was an awesome mechanic, Wii introduced the motion controls, 7 had the gliders and underwater, and the zero gravity in 8. Like you said; you can’t do much but I see Nintendo doing something innovative every time while the shooters don’t even seem to try most of the time.

              1. True, they don’t really seem to change that much, but you still get to feel those little changes very singificantly, so to say. Double Dash was my favorite, btw.
About the shooters, well, I agree that the last few CoD entries seemed to be rather lame. But I’ve enjoyed other shooters like BF3, hell, even BF4 a lot, and I personally could feel a huge difference between them. As for the upcoming shooters, they do look very interesting to me too, especially Destiny and BF Hardline. Honestly, even the new CoD looks nice, compared to previous entries of the series.
It really just comes down to your personal taste in video games and what kind of genres you like. Just because you personally don’t enjoy a certain (type of) game, doesn’t mean it’s bad or boring.

                1. And I completely agree with you! I’m sure if I actually played more than an hour of CoD I might start to enjoy it and be able to tell the difference between them all but I’m talking new and exciting things. If I were to sit back and objectively look at this list I wouldn’t particularly be taken back by CoD because there are so many like it. But Bayonetta is a sequel that fans have been dying for and its been quite some time since the first came out, plus they are adding to it and refining it. Adding and refining could be said for the new CoD as well, only we’ve already seen so many CoD games, plus Ghosts wasn’t too long ago. Bayonetta is the long awaited sequel and it’s truly new and fresh.

                  1. Yes, I totally get your point and agree with you. It really is a shame that Bayonetta isn’t on the list, definitely a disappointment to a lot of people, not only because it actually deserves to be on the list, but also, as you’ve said, because so many fans had been waiting for it for quite a while now.
(I’m the anon btw, just added a name q:)

                    1. Nice to make your acquaintance Anon! It’s nice to have a civil conversation about games in general without the console war garbage, trolls, or fanboy nonsense getting in the way.

            2. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

The difference is that our empire releases one Mario Kart game per console while these FPS lovers releases like 3-4 CODs on every console…

              1. As long as there are significant differences between the games, I honestly don’t see the problem.
Granted, CoD games didn’t seem to be too different from each other lately, but CoD isn’t the only shooter out there. Personally, I enjoy the BF series a lot. Yes, even BF4 (it really isn’t as bad as people make it seem to be, imo). And among the games I’m looking forward to, there actually are a few shooters. Not all shooters are the same and not all of them are bad.

                1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

My problem with BF4 was/is that it was released when it was basically still in Alpha stage which is just obnoxious…

                  1. Sure, there were lots of bugs, but I wouldn’t call it alpha stage. I still enjoyed it, even right at launch. It could get a little frustrating sometimes, but I still found it enjoyable, it’s not like it was unplayable or anything. I’ve actually played 160+ hours and bought an expansion pack. If it really was that bad, I wouldn’t have bothered investing so much time and extra money into it.
Of course nothing makes the fact that they released a practically unfinished game okay, not at all. But yea, still turned out to be a fun game. To me, at least. :) And it seems like they’ve learned a lesson, because the beta of BF Hardline works quite smoothly already. So that’s at least something.
(I’m the anon btw, I thought using a name wouldn’t be all too bad)

          2. Not really. If you played COD games you would know that the only bad ones were Ghosts, and COD 3

        1. Well here, this is my point. Nintendo is called out on the Mario series because it’s a rehash of the previous game. Yet Call of Duty is on this list because now you’re advanced in your warfare?

          1. This year’s COD looks exciting

BF Hardline is providing a new twist to the normal series

Don’t know what you’re saying about EA

Far Cry 4 looks set to be the greatest game in the franchise

      1. Oh! And how did Xenoblade Chronicles X miss the RPG list? And Bayonetta, which has a huge fan base isn’t on Action or Action\Adventure. Yeah… seems a little biased in my opinion.

          1. That’s a good point, the games on the list were playable on the show floor.

Did you play the first Bayonetta?

            1. Yeah. I played the first one on PS3. It was a good concept, but complete mess. I’m still going to give Bayonetta 2 a go on Wii U, but after playing the demo at E3, I’m not expecting too much.

              1. Dang… 2 didn’t feel like an improvement at all?

It’s obviously not an early build because the game comes out in October but hopefully they’ll iron out the kinks before they release it. I’m still really excited for it but I haven’t even played the first one so i have no idea how they play and feel.

                1. No, no. Don’t get me wrong, the combat and camera felt much better in 2. The framerate was pretty smooth as well on the Wii U demo.

But overall the game – plot and gameplay – hasn’t interested me as much as I had hoped it would. I’m still getting it though, if anything, just to support the system.

                  1. That’s good to know! I’ve got it preordered and paid for so I’m definitely getting it. I checked out the first one on YouTube and the story isn’t it’s strong suit but I’m excited to see all of the improvements made in the sequel!

I think I’m more excited to just play it. I’m usually a story guy but I think I can turn my brain off and enjoy Bayonetta for all it’s chaotic messiness!

                  2. So I checked out the Bayonetta Bloody Fate anime last night and while they took some liberties, I have a better understanding of what went on in the first game and this gets me even more excited for the sequel!

Our opinions differ for sure but the sequel has some interesting things going on with it. Jeanne is the one she’s looking for in hell and during this search she discovers the masked Lumen Sage. This is interesting because Jeanne was still alive when the first game ended. So what happened in the last 20 something years? It looks like Jeanne sacrificed herself for Bayonetta at some point, according to various articles but this means we get a recap of what she’s been up to this whole time. Plus we go from babysitting a child to working along side this teenage kid who can obviously hold his own. But who is he and who is the Lumen Sage? Granted, these plot threads are quite similar to the first game but it’s taking us to new places like the gates of hell in the inferno and that mountain that connects inferno to paradiso, etc.

I don’t know, the anime wasn’t great but it kept the fire for Bayonetta kindled in my mind. Thought I’d share.

                    1. Sounds cool. I was going to check it out once it got localized with a dub. It’s not an anime that I would watch with subtitles. I’m not *that* interested in it. xD

                      1. Chozodian Emissary

Yeah, I’d wait. It really isn’t that great, plus it’s just a retelling of the first game with a few changes here and there. It really felt rushed, but it was nice to get a better idea of the back story and lore.

    7. Nintendo is my Blood

Well I am satisfied, I have Amiibos to collect, Smash Brothers, Hyrule Warriors, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Splatoon and maybe Bayonetta 2

        1. Yeah, I have to say that it was pretty impressive of them. A sad move because I want more Sport games, but they must have made some killer deals to get most of the big ones

          1. Ah, I forgot that in addition to MLB from Sony, 2K has NBA. So at least not *all* of the sports games are EA. But yeah, I’m not sure how they pulled off getting so many. I guess since they were early in the game…

    8. the fuck? Where’s Xenoblade Chronicles X in best RPG? Just because they spoke Japanese in the trailer and is not visually impressive does not count them out…And Yoshi’s is not only Casual, it’s a Platformer.

        1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

So? Only idiots that praise graphics over gameplay would let the less than impressive graphics effect their decision.

          1. Yeah, that’s why even though the Wii U is underpowered and the PS4 is, what, 10 times more powerful then a PS3, the Wii U is still selling like gangbusters right? Oh wait

Hardware drives software in this industry now, and if Nintendo doesn’t wake up they’ll be like what how they think right now.

            In the past

            1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Ignoring the fact that marketing for Wii U was shit while Sony was marketing Playstation 4 like crazy. But by all means, keep believing your opinions are more valid than others.

Shuhei Yoshida: “Grow up, will you? Continue with these type of idiotic comments and I’ll ignore you”
Ooh scary. Please don’t ignore me! I want to continue to hear your double standards while ignoring facts! >.< I was obviously mocking you in that other post. Quit coming off as a narcissist with your sometimes obvious fanboyism for Sony & maybe I'll stop with such comments. If you are going to act like a bitch, like that loser sasori, then I'm going to treat you like one.

But if I'm going overboard & you aren't actually trying to be a serious asshole to people with opinions that differ from your own, I apologize for being an immature asshole. I'm actually a lot more mature than my less friendly posts make me seem.

    9. It was almost unanimouse on the internet that Nintendo won E3 but all these a holes are going to ignore the fact and keep making Nintendo look bad.

    10. I’m shocked Captain Toad’s Treasure Tracker didn’t make best strategy game. I’m shocked X didn’t make best RPG. I’m also shocked and impressed Splatoons is one of the best online games. Also why didn’t that Robot game also win best original game. Also Treasure Tracker should have won as best originals.

      1. X wasn’t playable and for the most part, the demos of the other games weren’t very impressive. That’s not to say I wouldn’t switch out some of the games that actually made it on the list though.

      1. And pathetically upsetting. Not to mention obnoxious, repulsive, depressing, nefarious, shall I continue?

    11. I must seriously say this list is all bias BS to, once again, put Nintendo in the gutter of gaming making them look like the worst, unoriginal gaming company on earth while they ignore all of the annoying ass spams of FPSs, annual games, obnoxious DLCs, fucking DRM everywhere which none of these Nintendo has ever dared to pull to attract such negative attention. I swear every time it see something like this, I know for a damn fact everyone’s intelligence has evolve so goddamn backwards that they’re throwing money away on BS tactics of these negative movements and they prayed like hell for Nintendo to for and for what reason? Making original games and concepts as best and affordable as possible not never accepted by public but that same public accepts knockoffs from Sony/Microsoft? Humanity is so fucked and I know it.

      1. what drm moron. thats the life of having no third party surpport. you becomes irreavelent no matter what.

        1. “you become irrelevant no matter what” said by the voice of the experience. Ladies and gentlemen, the social reject: sasori!!!

    12. Bloodborne and shadows of mordor are NOT rpgs. Wtf. What has gaming come to? That was the weakest rpg game list I believe I have ever seen. They put Fable on the list? That piece of shit casual game Fable? And no Xenoblade chronicles? Xenoblade was the only true RPG at E3. And no, the fucking witcher 3 is not an rpg. Im begining to hate western style rpgs. They are all the fucking same game with different stories.

      1. nice damage control right there. an rpg= rpg deal with it moron. lol.
Xenoblade chronicles is a joke and there are many ps2 graphics and jegges on that game game. witcher 3 and dragon age 3 trashed Xenoblade chronicles although-er.

          1. Why is he a retard? Witcher 3 looked fucking amazing.
            _______________

Damn, Super Smash Bros. Wii U should get more credit though.

        1. xenoblade chronicles is amazing and it kicked a lot of asses!!!
you didn’t played it and you’re bashing it, the only thing you can do is playing naruTURD games and being rejected by girls (because you’re a sexist caveman)

        2. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Let’s restart the #bansasori movement again. He got sooo butthurt the last time after all, guys. With any luck, we can get his punk ass to stay gone again for a few days.

    13. This is the most cringe-worthy list of games I have ever seen, Nintendo KILLED at E3 this year and the only recognition they get is from Super Smash Bros and Splatoon. It’s like whatever critic made this list didn’t even watch Nintendo’s digital event.

    14. on so many youtube videos and websites all i heard was that smash bros was the best game. it was all over e3.

    15. This list is fine considering what nintendo had to show, minus 2 thing, where the fuck is bayonetta 2 and X?

    16. It’s about what I would expect when you get a list from a bunch of people who’s opinions are influenced by money. I mean really, did anyone really think that Call of Duty looked any good?

      1. Well, I was at E3 and saw the game firsthand. As someone who stopped playing CoD years ago, I have to say, this one actually does look better than recent years. At least there are a few new gameplay elements and a new premise.

I’ll keep an eye on it. Yeah, it’s “another” FPS, but it looks like they put some effort in to making changes. Depending on what else they show regarding new gameplay elements, I might get it when it comes out this year.

    17. pink0crystal0midbus

Splatoon should win!!! Also, Smash Bros should DEFINITELY win if the 29 judges know what is good for them… Smash Bros dominates every game in the world.

    18. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Yoshi’s Woolly World isn’t fucking a casual game. They said it will actully be hard unlike that last Kirby game. Oh right! The graphics are using home economic products for the artstyle so it MUST be a casual game! -.- Whatever. This list is being pretty biased.

To Simply G, quit damage controlling the list with “but most of Nintendo’s games were just videos, digital event, Treehouse stuff!” I don’t see ANYTHING that specifies the games HAVE to have been playable to get on this list. Now if you can show me a trusted link that proves me wrong & you right, by all means, post it.

      1. It’s not damage controlling. I wish people would stop using that nonsensical phrase. I was at E3 and dealt with a few of the individuals who are a part of this. But if you want a link, how about from the official source?

“Each year the Game Critics Awards present its Best of E3 Awards. These awards recognize the games that will shape the future of interactive entertainment, as demonstrated via hands-on playable form at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles, CA. This year’s E3 was held June 10-12, 2014.”

“games were not made playable to Game Critics judges and therefore disqualified from award consideration”

        1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Oh okay. Thanks for clearing that up. Sickr should update his article on here then to include that little fact.

            1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

True. lol Unless he does like silvershadowfly does & makes a comment letting us know he edited it.
