Exciting new details have surfaced on two new playable characters from yesterday’s Famitsu magazine Hyrule Warriors reveal. Agitha, who originally appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as the zany golden bug collecting girl, will fight against enemies with her trusty parasol. But don’t let her cute appearance fool you, as she can call upon her ever-loyal insects to fight alongside her and crush those enemies into the ground.
The Zelda-themed Dynasty Warriors title also introduces a brand new character, Lana. Her fighting technique will allow players to use a magical book to summon spells. Plus, the blue-haired beauty can also cast a magical barrier within fights, however she’ll be hit with recoil damage if enemies break through her defence.
With Agitha and newcomer Lana involved in Hyrule Warriors, we’re sure to see many great characters from the Zelda universe making an appearance. Let us know which characters you’d like to see in the comments below. Hyrule Warriors arrives in Europe on September 19 and North America on September 26.

Yes can be an exclamation. Like “Yes! I’m so happy they are doing this!!!” But, not all excitement has to be screamed, so NERD clearly likes the article, but he isn’t screaming. He just agrees with all the information that was in the article and thinks the developers made great choices adding in these two new characters.

So Agitha is going to be Hyrule Warriors version of Okuni from Samurai Warriors with a parasol as her main weapon. Cool. I should have known since she always has a parasol with her when she goes outside of Castle Town to collect food for the insects in her home in Twilight Princess. And Lana is indeed the blue girl on the case. I was hoping for a mini biography on her that would give us a hint on who she is & what’s her role in the game. Least this confirms she is in fact NOT Cia as a good guy.
Okay. So when are they going to release real awesome playable characters? Like Ganondorf, Zant, Ghirahim, Beedle, probably Demise if they want to.

I kinda doubt we’ll get those guys to be playable…since they’re all villains, and Beedle? I don’t know what you could do with him.
Actually, you can unlock villains as playable. Depending on how important they are as villains, they could be unlocked mid-game or they won’t get unlocked til the end of the game after you’ve beaten the story.
Beedle would be too overpowered.

Wow Agitha? This game is really surprising. I hope they add Byrne, Groose, and Princess Ruto as well.
They should add Error and give him a big ax or something. His back story could be that hes come out of seclusion, and hes pissed that his careless parents named him “Error” and he just wants to take his frustrations out on the baddies.

Not complaining, but isn’t Agitha just about the most random character ever? I mean, all she did was collect bugs in Twilight Princess. Doesn’t really matter, but it’s just a little odd is all.

I think that their doing here is thinking of characters that would have great attacks. Just like in final fantasy the attacks are about visuals, the cast is not so much about who is important its about who would have great visual attacks while fighting large groups of enemies and also (mean while their is a war in hyrule)

There is a good reason why Agitha is playable, though. Agitha is known to carry a parasol with her in Twilight Princess & the Samurai Warriors franchise from Tecmo Koei has a character that can use a parasol as her weapon. So this isn’t just a cosmetic idea for a playable character as she can also represent one of the weapon types from one of their other franchises. I should also point at that this character from Samurai Warriors is something of an oddball herself, just like Agitha is.
Lana is practically Hyrule Warriors version of Samurai Warriors’ Kanbei who uses an orb that summons demonic-like fists to fight in battle. Only Lana is holding a book instead of an orb.
Link also represents a character archetype from Dynasty Warriors & Samurai Warriors. He is Hyrule Warriors version of the major hero/mascot of the Dynasty Warriors (Zhao Yun) & Samurai Warriors (Yukimura Sanada) franchises.
Those of us that have played Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and/or the Warriors Orochi franchises, Tecmo Koei is showing that they will have a character that works similarly to one of their characters from these 3 franchises.
Don’t get me wrong, I love that this game is including female playable characters because it’s different than usual. But, where are the guys? So far out of all the playable characters Link is the only guy. Why not add Groose? He’d be perfect!
90% of the villain’s faction is going to be guys, don’t worry about that. It’s nice to have a large female cast, for a change.
I’d like to see some more races represented, like gorons and zoras, but that’s probably just wishful thinking.
Where the hell is Ashei? I just want to see the Twilight Princess Resistance involved in this game. ;_;

Of all the people in the Zelda universe AGITHA?!?! She has NO place fighting. A little bug collector who was just part of a side mission? Can we add the Killer Bees from Wind Waker too while we’re at it? I hope there are a ton of playable characters so she isn’t taking up a more meaningful character’s slot.
There’s 6 characters right now, that’s nothing compared to actual dynasty warrior games

Around 30-50 characters, maybe more. Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, a crossover of Dynasty & Samurai Warriors, had over 120 playable characters.

Exactly. Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper had over 120 playable characters, so I won’t be surprised if Tecmo Koei manages to have at least 75-100 playable characters for Hyrule Warriors. I doubt it will be that big but I don’t think it’s wishful thinking to hope for that, either. Legend of Zelda has plenty of original characters that TK could use that aren’t just reincarnations of other characters.
Not to mention they are also creating their own characters to add into the game.
