Nintendo’s Hitoshi Yamagami And Yusuke Nakano Helped Itagaki Out On Devil’s Third

Devil’s Third creator, Tomonobu Itagaki, has revealed that Nintendo’s Hitoshi Yamagami and Yusuke Nakano fell in love with the third party Wii U exclusive. Itagaki says that they both gave him their help and support to make Devil’s Third what it is now.

“There are also cultural differences between the way that I’ve worked and the way Nintendo works, which is when it comes down to the basic grammar of games, the method of game creation,” Itagaki said through a translator. “And so we certainly fought some, but I think that I saw the value in a lot of the ways that they do things and learned a great amount.”

“Devil’s Third, despite its jump from Sony and Microsoft consoles to Nintendo’s Wii U, remains mostly unchanged. Itagaki said that 90 percent of the game’s concept hasn’t been altered. But that remaining 10 percent, he said, was shaped by Nintendo. Specifically, he said, Nintendo’s Hitoshi Yamagami and Yusuke Nakano loved his project like their own and both helped and taught him.”

  1. I don’t care what you people say. I’m getting this game. It looks amazing to play. I really like what they are doing with the multiplayer. The story seems Metal Gear Solid-esque as well.

    1. It needs to get its face washed up a bit. Otherwise, looks pretty interesting. That corridor in the picture screams MGS as well.

      1. During the IGN interview, they mentioned that Itagaki is known for pushing the visuals in his games. I think Devil’s Third is still just transitioning over and once Itagaki gets used to the hardware, he will improve on the graphics. But honestly, the graphics are the least of my worries as long as the game is fun to play.

        1. I know the man doesn’t make ugly games, but the development hell this’s been though can be seen on its surface. Personally, I’d play it as it is as well, but any improvement is welcome.

    2. Oh this game looks so kick ass and I’m in for it. And morons say Nintendo is only for kids. XD Well let’s see if the same kids on COD from other platforms will be brave enough to touch this.

I’m getting this game too!!! It’s like the first shooting game made specifically for the Wii U and the Wii U alone. Next will be Splatoon. I can’t wait to own both of them!

  2. I’m really not feeling the hype for this game. It doesn’t impress me that much. But I’m getting it anyway. Wii U could use some more decent M titles I guess.

    1. Did you see the multiplayer for this? It looks pretty amazing. I mean the graphics are nothing to get hype over but the gameplay and story look dope. Just my opinion. If you get this game, hopefully I will see you online.

        1. Yep it’s not your standard online shooter. It encompasses all aspects of war. It’s still not clear what all it is but I know you have a clan with your friends, you buy fortresses, planes, tanks, anti-aircraft guns, etc. with money you earn from multiplayer and then you have skirmishes within the war that are the batlles such as attacking other people’s fortresses and defending your own. You also get to customize the look of your character and you can use anything from guns, to swords, to bare fist brawling. The game also has ten different unique multiplayer modes. You should look it up online.

    2. You gotta give this game a shot. Looks gruesomely awesome and a perfect example of Nintendo actually supporting mature games that fit. Call of Duty, Resident Evil and Splinter Cell doesn’t ring any bells on morons thinking Nintendo only serve “kiddy” games? lol

      1. Definitely getting it. It looks awesome now. I saw the trailer and when that woman pulled down her clothes, I was like “WTF? This on a Nintendo console? o.O” XD

They are PUBLISHING it! That should say a lot that they aren’t some kiddy company. But you’re either too stupid to take notice or you are the delusional fanboy you claim we are. Again, you’re an idiot. #bansasori

    1. Hoping its cleaned up quite a bit. If Cars can push the WiiU this early in the cycle, there really isnt any excuse. Especially with Nintendo working so closely with exclusive development.

      1. Don’t try to explain logic to this slow ass Xbot. He’s pissy because the game has moved on from Xbox same for Bayonetta 2. So he can go masturbate to COD’s so called “new graphics engine” in Ghosts on Xbetamax DOne for all I care.

        1. if read the comment sections of videos on youtube, no body cares for this games any more and are calling it a turd. the multiplayer is your typical fps multiplayer even though battlrfield 3 and 4 are better than the devil’s turd.

          1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

That’s why we have millions of Bayonetta Xbots and Sonyan fans that are extremely butthurt…

And you’re nothing more than another sheep following the flow of hate towards our empire for idiotic invalid reasons…

The western world is just a shallow pathetic place…

Comments section in your imagination. Get in touch with reality and smack yourself with a TF2 wrench for obvious reasons.

          3. Yes, because everybody knows that Youtube comments are ALWAYS a reliable source. I definitely don’t run into console wars arguments 90% of the time. ;)

If this was still on the Xbox 360 or became an Xbox 360 exclusive, you’d be running your mouth off about how it’s way better than anything Nintendo has on the Wii U. Don’t bother trying to deny it, because we all know you well enough to know you’d be praising this game if the position was switched. Enjoy wasting your time saving up for the dying Xbox 360. By the time you get it, the damn console will be forgotten by Microsoft & 3rd parties as they move on to the Xbox One. Enjoy saving up for a last gen console, kid.

Agreed. In fact, a majority of people that used Windows 8 will agree with us, since a number of them are having trouble with it if they don’t own a touchscreen laptop. In fact, I had to put my laptop in the shop because the damn harddrive, which had Windows 8 on it, died. My laptop has a Windows 7 harddrive now, so I shouldn’t have an issue again for quite awhile.

    2. Well it was a PS3 and Xbox 360 game so the last gen graphics are to be expected. Lets hope they improve on them for the Wii U

      1. Dark Horse Ridee is correct. It was originally a 360 and PS3 game. They’ve had to rewrite the whole game from scratch to take advantage of Wii U. Sadly I cannot see it happening. I am hoping it plays well.

  3. wauuhhh nintenfo knows how get the stupids 3th parties game, that almost no ones want. it looks boring amd cheap.
even on ps3 or ps4 nobody wpuld buy it, because there a lot of bether games.
its the cheap version of gears of war or vanquish

    1. Devil’s Third..a Gears of War ripoff? Funny. Because I thought Shadowgun on mobile is a Gears ripoff. This is nothing like Gears at all dipshit.

    2. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Sucks for you then. The rest of us that get this game will most likely have tons of fun, though, since Nintendo is actually helping with the development, so we don’t have to worry about any major or annoying glitches that other 3rd party games have like the ones from Ubisoft or EA.

      1. I smell haters, yall anti nintendo fans get the fuck outta here. I bet yall motha fuckers would say the same thing if call of duty advanced warfare was a wii u exclusive with the ps4 graphics on it. Yall need to get a life

      2. pink0crystal0midbus

Game looks great. When we saw it on IGN this E# it clearly had work to be done, but that work will be carried out before it’s launch this year. Nintendo wouldn’t want to pick up a Wii U exclusive and not see that it is fully refined before it’s release!!!

      3. This feels like what ninja gaiden could have become. I can’t wait for it to come out since I am a huge Ninja Gaiden fan and there seems to be an awesome multiplayer. Also I am new here, are you guys always fighting those idiots in the comments?
