Revered video game developer Shigeru Miyamoto has told investors in Japan that he has a number of ideas for the next Zelda title for the Nintendo 3DS. Miyamoto wouldn’t divulge any information, but hinted that the next title will follow in the footsteps of a The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Zelda Wii U in being non linear.
“This term [open world] means that there is a large world in which players can do numerous things daily. In the traditional “The Legend of Zelda” series, the player would play one dungeon at a time. For example, if there are eight dungeons, at the fourth dungeon, some players may think, “I’m already halfway through the game,” while other players may think, “I still have half of the game to play.” We are trying to gradually break down such mechanism and develop a game style in which you can enjoy “The Legend of Zelda” freely in a vast world, whenever you find the time to do so.”
“We created the games in the traditional “The Legend of Zelda” series in steps that players could easily understand and follow; the player would obtain a new item in each dungeon, use the item to clear that dungeon and be able to enjoy applying the items in different ways after acquiring about eight items. However, in “The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds,” we broke that down and let the player rent different items from the beginning, so the player could use different combinations of items. […] In addition to that, we have ideas for Nintendo 3DS which we have not announced yet, so I hope you will look forward to them.”

The idea should be porting a certain N64 game onto the 3ds.
Personally, I don’t even care if it gets ported. I never played Majora’s Mask, and I loved Ocarina of Time, but I seriously just don’t get why everyone cares. In all honesty, I’d prefer a Sunshine HD/2, but I think Majora’s Mask 3D is just inevitable seeing how everyone and their mother seems to want it.
If you loved Oot, you really need to play Majora’s Mask. It’s a sin to not do so.

They basicly confirmed it like 4 times, but because it’s not an original title, and they have every studio working at max to get all current games done fast, and get working on more games that people are demanding. They well probably have a third party do it, and honestly id prefer If they did it for Wii U.
As for Mario, they should have a HD collection that contains 64, sunshine, galaxy, and galaxy 2. Then they should make one massive sequel that combines all 3 games

so this basically confirms another Zelda on 3DS. Honestly, make it a 3D zelda. The managed to do it with OoT. I want Majora’s Mask as much as anyone else bur if we’re looking at an original new idea for zelda, I say a 3D Zelda like how they are on the consoles. Traditional Zelda.

We need a sequel to that entire timeline, to be honest. Every other game after Adventure of Link in that timeline has been nothing but prequels: Link to the Past, Oracle of Seasons/Ages, & Link Between Worlds have all been prequels to Adventure.
Yeah its called not working on another Zelda 3ds game and start working on the Zelda game that will be on the next Nintendo handheld that way it will be out by launch. I hope we can finally get an original 3D Zelda game on 3DS… albw was good but I wanted to see the extent of what they could do with Zelda on a handheld (big 3D world and stuff like in OoT or MM)
This does not confirm its for 3ds. This just means they have plans for a zelda installment on their portable system. They say “3ds” so people don’t freak out and start speculating on their next handheld.

As long as no Zelda game ever has stylus controls like Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks again, I’m ok with whatever it is. Seriously, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks needs to be re-released with normal play control. These games would have been much more fun without that stylus crap. Even better would be seeing these games released in HD on Wii U (a physical copy release).
My biggest problem with those games was the final boss with the “draw an hourglass” crap & the damn microphone for the instrument. Everything else was good.
