I still say this to my friend, but the amiibo figures would be great to get new characters. Similar to how Skylanders gets it’s characters into the games. (while still allowing a digital purchase as well of course)
They could just release updates for new series packs or something that come out to put the characters into the programming.
As for tracks and battle modes, I think we may get them from traditional means like from the E-shop if we ever do get more of those. lol
I think they allready have confirmed that amiibo won’t be used for DLC-like content!
They are adding MK8 to happy meals, so they are trying to make game be more aware on a higher scale

I really wonder what amiibo will do for MK8, I don’t think it will just add the character of said figure. It’s more likely only the Mario universe figures thst works with the game.
Smash handles it really good, with the personal fighters you train up, and can use on your team!

The game needs character DLC and Battle Stage DLC. Character DLC with Diddy Kong, Birdo, Prof. E. Gad, Nabbit, King Boo and Funky Kong. Battle DLC with retro Battle Mode stages and/or new stages detected to Battle Mode. Because MK8’s current Battle Mode “stages” suck.

Mario Kart is known to have good legs, DLC characters and tracks would definitely extend MK8’s life. Hopefully the DLC is not to expensive.
Knowing Nintendo, it will probably be around 5-10 dollars which is cheap. They’ll probably also release bundles of DLC that lets you get a number of separate DLCs with 5 dollars off, giving away one of the DLCs for free.
Like with Fire Emblem Awakening & those 4 new Streetpass Mii Plaza games.

I was thinking the other day that I better enjoy this Mario Kart as much as I can because we wont get another one until a new system launches. I’m guessing that will be around 2019ish. So…this is the last Mario Kart we will see for at least 5 or 6 years. Maybe longer than that. Crazy to think about it that way.
Then again, thats about how long it has been between all mario kart releases.
I like the concept of amiibo, but never played Skylanders (getting the games, expansions and figures would drain too much cash from my already strapped wallet).
I like how the figures are going to store data for multiple games like Mario Kart and Smash Bros. but I really hope they are much cheaper than the Skylanders figures.

MarioKart8 needs serious DLC to keep the sales going, like a MKDoubleDash DLC pack and FZero DLC pack, maybe even get Sega Sonic Racing DLC pack. Nintendo should make a DLC where you race with MarioKarts in open world where you outrun police, call it MK8Fugitive DLC pack, just to piss on EA.

Me too, though one possibility is using it similliar to smash: Training up your amiibo by racing against them (not using the smash stats, of course). Though, I would like to see even more!

I think Nintendo has said they are not his Children. Love them, though. They all have different personalities, so there’s a little for everyone! I personally love Iggy.
I’m all for supporting what Nintendo says is canon but this is one canon I can’t stand. I prefer the Koopalings as his children over that carbon copy of Bowser known as Bowser Jr. I miss the old canon of who’s Bowser’s children were.
But I will begrudgingly accept the new canon set by Miyamoto & Nintendo since the franchise is their creation, not mine. I’m just a fan so fan canon is ultimately just that: personal head canon.
The tracks are NOT forgettable, what do you mean?! The rooster is a little lacking, but as the characters don’t affect the game like in Smash, they are not really THAT important. When thinking back to all the details in all the tracks, I can only imagine it took at least month to make one track.

Mario Kart should get characters from other franchises like Super Smash Bros. does. Add Sonic, Megaman, Pac-man, Captain Falcon, Link, Samus, Picachu, Klonoa, Crash Bandicoot. Activision isn’t doing anything with Crash Bandicoot, they should sell Crash to Nintendo.
That’s one too many characters from non-Mario games. This series is called MARIO Kart for a reason.

Yet I’m already tired of it. It’s the first time I ever got tired of a Mario Kart game even before winning the gold trophy on every cup. And it’s not because it’s a bad game. It’s good. I think I’m just getting a little burned out.
My prediction is no DLC for this game. No real battle mode stages and no new tracks. I hope it gets those things, but I just feel Nintendo will probably put their resources into new games rather than existing ones.
