Yesterday provided a huge milestone for Pokemon X & Y’s Global Trade Station as over 100 million Pokemon have now been traded across the world. With the record-breaking achievement reached, The Pokemon Company has announced the previously promised Fancy Pattern Vivillon will begin distribution in all regions. The uniquely pattered Pokemon will come with the move “Hold Hands” – an exclusive move which no other Pokemon can obtain, and is available to download from tomorrow, July 8, until July 31 through the Nintendo Network.
Update: Vivillon is apparently available to download via the Nintendo Network today. As long as you have a WiFi connection, just click on Mystery Gift to obtain the special Pokemon.
I’m digging the color pattern. Does it have any particular meaning?
I don’t think there’s any meaning BEHIND it besides, well, flowers. I think the pattern is pretty cool, too, but personally, I think the Marine pattern is the best Vivillon look.
The Marine pattern is gorgeous. I need to pick my Pokémon Y up again and get one Vivillion of each pattern.

Vivillon actually CAN be used competitively, if you didn’t know. Sleep Powder + Quiver Dance can go a LONG way

Dude its the best pokemon to dismantle a sunny day team. It has a signature priority move called Powder. Which if the pokemon it’s facing uses a fire move it stops the attack and causes damage to the user.

It’d be impossible to balance, too many variables. You’d have to use more rigid archetypes for the stats, and that would ruin the uniqueness of every species. I think they’re doing a pretty good job in making old mons useful again with the introduction of some megas and by giving them new moves.
True but online matches become so boring, about 70% of all I battled has the exact same Pokemon or similar…
I don’t know how bad it is now, but when I used to play back in December every team had either M-Kanga, M-Gengar, M-Mawile or M-Blaziken. There were a lot of teams consisting of Lucario, Blaziken, a starter, a Kanto starter, Xerneas/Yveltal/Zigarde and Mewtwo. Which I guess it’s to be expected, but still. I had a few really good matches, though, especially when I first bought the game and the meta was still shaping up. Is it any better now?
