Nintendo has registered the Quality of Life trademark in Europe today. Quality of Life is Nintendo’s next project, separate from their traditional video game consoles. We haven’t heard too much about who they’re targeting and what the device will be like, but Nintendo has said that the device will focus on fun.

After this weird statement Miyamoto said about Zelda Wii U not being open-world, listing afterwards basically EVERYTHING that’s common about a Zelda title and defining this as open-world… I’m speechless. I’ll never comprehend this kind of chain of thought…
It´s a bit early to say, but considering that the videogame market is on decline for a long time (consoles sales have been down year-to-year since 2009), I´d be that Nintendo is planning on taking different business and products. Just like Konami in Japan, who also produces gym equipments and accessories, and gambling devices. Maybe this is something for the survival of the company in a mid-therm future.
Can’t wait to find out what it is.

I’m assuming that they’ll make a device that has “games” similar to Wii Fit/Wii Sports. While those were both hugely successful on the Wii, the Wii Fit U has yet to even come close to those massive sales, so I wonder just how much of a demand there would be for a device that is so specific in what it offers – it sounds like a really niche market.
QoL = The Xbot Annihilation Weapon -XAW- that will once and for all destroy them and improve the quality of life for our empire and free the Sonyans from corruption…

I agree, it would be kinda pointless for Nintendo just to continue doing stuff similiar to WiiFit, those are old things now. It has to be something more meaningful something that people “need”. All we know it focuses on health, life and its unwearable tech, they are onto something big. People are stupid if they expect just some fitness games, this thing will be something meaningful for everyday life.
It may turn something that i or the next guy wont buy, but im sure it´ll be something that masses want and in a way im interested to see what will be their secret card.
Whatever it is, I hope it’s nothing like those idiotic worthless “Ab-doers” and all that TV-Shop garbage…
