  1. #12 Microsoft (3 votes) those 3 people who voted for microsuck were drunk
    lol sasori must be butthurt

            1. True, but they still have their loyal supporters. I personally like the company a lot since they consistently deliver high quality games. They may be similar to each other, but it doesn’t take away from the experience. I’m the proud owner of just about every Madden game!

    1. Sims fans.

What? that’s the only thing I like from them these days……….even If i won’t touch any of the paid dlc which to get everything would cost about £500 i bet!

    3. “EA” as publishers are greedy fuckers and their balls are hold by their investors, but they still have BioWare and DICE, three amazingly talented studios.

  3. Cool to see Nintendo, Capcom, and Sony on the list… especially Capcom, despite all the things people say about them they are still great.

    1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

I have to agree, even though I hate what they have done to the Resident Evil franchise, they are still one of the very few Third Class Empire I’ll gladly buy games from…

        1. Im sure he means if he saw the Capcom logo on a game, he will buy it because it will most likely be a good game.

      1. Yeah they really need to fix Resident Evil badly, Re5 was a good action game but not really scary, 6 was an okay action game and not scary at all, and ORC was just mediocre. Revelations was a fantastic game IMO.

                1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

I love the movies as entertaiment and their “alternate story”…

But it would be nice to see a horror version for sure like it should have been…

I also want everything Resident Evil connected to make more sense, it’s just ridiculous how it turned out to be…

RE4 had in some ways very logical mutated creatures but the others, they just look so out of place for taking the story so seriously…

A man turning into a Kraken, really? Beyond ridiculous…

                  1. Lol hey it’s not as bad as a man turning into a T-Rex in Re6. Also if their is anything i like about the movies it is the Executioner/Axeman.

                    1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Ah yes I totally forgot about that one…

Indeed, the Executioner scenes are entertaining…

If ther eis anything that the movies do the bes tin the movie world is the use of the 3D effects, it was just great watchin all of these 3D scenes in both Afterlife and Retribution in the cinema…

              1. My friend has Revelations. Great RE game. I still play raid mode. If you get it I could help you. Especially the final level. Btw are you actually black?

              2. Eh… I’d hate to go all the way back to the mansion honestly… If they started to tell stories in between 3 and 4, keep the horror roots, keep the virus, loose the parasite things, and expand on the secret bases or cells of Umbrella, I’d love that. But Racoon City and the Mansion have been done and done again… I’d like to go after Umbrella in other countries like they’ve been trying to do, I’d just like it to be grounded in the survival horror genre.

                1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Whatever they do, I just wish they made more sense…

It’s so idiotic to have a man become a Kraken or a Tyranosaurus because of a virus and other gigantic creatures…

Make mutations that seem logical, that’s why I love RE4, everything amde sense…

                  1. Agreed. Yeah, 5 and 6’s mutations were things of fantasy. Revelations did a good job at keeping mutations logical, at least from what I can remember.. Some really awesome boss fights in that one, like in the old days you get to know the character a little before you fight their mutation.

There were one or two huge monsters but they didn’t come from human mutations.

          1. Dude, you gotta get Revelations. Aside from the cheesy ass story which had nothing to do with Umbrella or Raccoon City, the gameplay itself is a great redemption from RE6 and actually is scary especially when your fight mutated Rachel and I must warn you, Rachel will scare the shit out of you. X(

                1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

If I ever get power of some sort, the day this world starts to die, you’ll know the cause of it…

  4. other developers 2?

why not just include them Oo
there’s tons of developers in that list that only received one vote

  5. bte.. the source says only 73 people were actually polled.. but i count over 200 votes cast.. and obviously you can’t have several favourite developers

    1. eh turns out the votes cast for the favourite developer amount to only 116… still more than there should be

        1. He’s an idiot thinking nobody is gonna remember his old comments he just made 5 minutes ago saying the opposite, meaning he talks shit about Nintendo and then pretend to like them to shield his pansy ass from getting burned again.

  6. Fabulous to see Nintendo leading the charge, and other top developers in the top ten. But where is Platinum Games?

And what on earth is ea doing at no. 11? It shouldn’t even be on the list.

      1. Because they turn out trash and rip off customers.

Whenever ea buys a franchise or development studio, they make it worse. Whatever they develop is shite. They suck the soul out of gaming and are only interested in how much they can screw people for. Perhaps maybe 1 in 10 games may be playable but they’re still an awful company. They weren’t voted the worse American company two years in a row for nothing.

That is why they shouldn’t be on the list.

        1. I disagree. I own Madden 11 and 12 and they were both very solid games. I’m not sure about their work ethic, but you have to admit that their games are dynamite!

          1. The fact that you mention yearly rehashes doesn’t help your argument.

Dynamite games? No, far from it. Mediocre games with one good one in ten, yes. Of course it’s each to their own. But without sounding patronising, I pity anyone who buys their products.

One thing for sure is if the gaming industry suddenly didn’t have ea would it be a better place? Most certainly yes.

            1. You act like rehashes are a bad thing. If done correctly, there’s nothing wrong with them. Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV, Ultra Super Street Fighter IV, etc. All of them are really good games even if they are similar. How can you not buy each new version when they add a lot of extra content like characters and stages? What I’m saying is that EA always puts the consumer first and I appreciate that…

  7. I wouldn’t have guessed it was Nintendo so this is surprising. I thought for sure it would be Capcom or Square Enix because of Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, or Dragon Quest. I guess Pokemon is enough to earn them the number one spot.

    1. You don’t know much about Japan, huh? Nintendo hasn’t been at the top in Japan this long for nothing.

  8. Crazy to see Square Enix up there at number 2, since the merger I haven’t been too impressed. Hoping that changes soon though.

    1. Out of the big three, Sony has the most first party development studios around the globe and partners with several second parties who develop exclusives for Sony systems. They put out quite a number of games each year. Most of them just go under the radar.

  10. LOL at Sega being lower than Tecmo. I can’t blame them since they are arguably doing worse compared to the later nowadays and they milk the shit out of Sonic unlike their other IP’s.

    1. #7 is a decent spot you ignoramus, at least they’re not under EA, and by the way The only company that milks the shit out their Ips is Activision. besides this is japan Sega other games out thier in that region that’s why they’re are on this list you hater.

      1. I’m not hating, even a fellow Sega fan like myself do realized what’s wrong with Sega today. They focus too much on Sonic, they had failed the console race in the past due to certain mistakes, and they barely make sequels to games that deserve it (NiGHTS, Streets of Rage, Jet Set Radio, ect.). Another reason why I hate Modern Sega is because they barely localize all of their games and Phantasy Star Online 2 is an infamous example of such a situation.

          1. Me too, that Beast Rider game was so awful. It had potential of being good, but it fell flat for having so many glaring flaws. Also, Tyris Flare looked so fugly in that game too.

    1. *shrug* It would have been nice if at least a couple thousand people were accurately polled.

But I guess this serves its purpose. It shows what that specific group of people polled like. lol

    2. well if samples had been selected randomly (which they apparently weren’t) the results would still matter more than a poll with a million biased samples

you can achieve pretty good values with just about thousand samples, depending on the total population you want to extrapolate to

election polls are often carried with a sample number that low, and they usually manage to predict the end result accurately

the difference is that they’re random so anyone could be asked.. not just people who happen to visit a specific website

      1. i should add that what i was really meaning to say is that the number of people in this poll is completely irrelevant because even if they’d asked a million the results would still be biased one way or another and therefore unusable to make any kind of generalised statement

  11. Sony is not a developer, it’s a brand printed on electronics. Pretty much all Playstation exclusives are third and second party developed. Mabey if this was supposed to be a favorite publisher list…

    1. That’s a ridiculous claim.

So, I guess Japan Studio, Polyphony Digital, Naughty Dog, Bend Studio, San Diego Studio, Santa Monica Studio, XDEV Studio, Sucker Punch, Evolution Studio, Guerrilla Games, London Studio, Media Molecule, etc. (which are all owned by Sony whether by creation or obtaining) do not make any games?

Sony develops a good number of exclusives through its first party studios and has fewer exclusives developed through second party. Sony makes games. Whether you think they’re good or not is your opinion. Whether you know about the games or not, that’s up to your knowledge and awareness. But they exist.

      1. “So, I guess Japan Studio, Polyphony Digital, Naughty Dog, Bend Studio, San Diego Studio, Santa Monica Studio, XDEV Studio, Sucker Punch, Evolution Studio, Guerrilla Games, London Studio, Media Molecule, etc. (which are all owned by Sony whether by creation or obtaining) do not make any games?”

I’m honored you took the time to look up all of those “DEVELOPERS” that Sony own (I bunch of which I am familiar with). Do not make any games!?!? They are the ones making the games!

“Whether you think they’re good or not is your opinion.”

Not sure why you put that there… maybe you didn’t read the last statement in my comment.

“Whether you know about the games or not, that’s up to your knowledge and awareness. But they exist.”

Pretty pointless statement sense I mentioned it had exclusives (obviously own by Sony… but developed by other studios for them).

I don’t see how my claim is so “ridiculous” when it’s, for the most part, true…

        1. I didn’t look up those studios. Those are the ones I was able to to recall from games that I have enjoyed in recent years. I’m sure I missed more. Nevertheless, you’re still missing the point. Those studios are Sony studios. They are studios that Sony created or has fully owned for a long time.

You said Sony doesn’t develop games, they do. That’s like saying, “Nintendo doesn’t make games, they have other studios develop them for them.”

While it’s true that Sony has had other developers make some games for them like Sanzaru with Sly Cooper and Insomniac with Ratchet & Clank and Resistance – for the most part, Sony’s IP’s are made by Sony studios. Teams that Sony has brought together from nothing and created new games from. Or devs that have been longtime partners with Sony and the partnership led to an acquisition. Rarely second or third party studios.

          1. Sony makes no games, the nearest Sony has been to video game development is it’s subsidiary Sony Computer Entertainment (you know, the company that manages the PlayStation brand). But I’m done arguing something so pointless.

        1. “The nearest Sony has been to video game development is it’s subsidiary Sony Computer Entertainment (you know, the company that manages the PlayStation brand)”

You just technically confessed this two replies ago. So, who’s being an illiterate again?

          1. I’m sorry, confessed what? That Sony shouldn’t be on this list and that Sony Computer Entertainment should? Wow, get a life please?

  12. Pingback: Small Japanese poll asks about favorite game devs | Gaming Everything

  13. “Small” is right. And you gotta figure the Squenix love consists of 50% Kingdom Hearts, 20% Retardedly Named, and the rest consisting of all those other games they publish these days as a result of having bought other companies and shit.

  14. And yet despite the love for Nintendo’s games, they can’t get Wii U sales to speed up. I’d say these people are rather fickle.

  15. Nintendo and Square are the top two!!! Why aren’t they doing games together?

Clearly they would sell well in Japan.

    1. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Mario Hoops 3-on-3 for Nintendo DS.

      1. I think he’s trying to imply that the two should make another game together, while being aware of what they’ve made before.

  16. It’s no secret that Nintendo EAD has some of the very best, if not the best, developpers out there. That’s partly why you constantly see PS/Xbox-only players cry for Nintendo to go bankrupt. They are dying for Nintendo to release Zelda, Metroid, Mario, Star Fox,… on their consoles. If Nintendo stops making hardware one day, you can be sure their games will sell like absolute craziness on the other systems. Word.

    1. It’s because of their systems. Nintendo may be the top dog making video games, but their systems are never good. They exclude a lot of basic everyday features out of their consoles. 2012 and still no DVD player. And no, the “but it is a gaming console” excuse is invalid at this point. That’s like decade old technology. I just don’t get Nintendo. They have a lot of money, but they always go the cheap route. They could have a console stronger than PS4 if they wanted. So what’s the deal?

      1. You could say Nintendo wants to be a “pure” gaming company. They feel games and outside entertainment shouldn’t mix (such as DVD players and Twitch). Nintendo wants their consumers to enjoy a unblemished video game experience without any outside problems or services getting in the way. With that said that explains their reasons for doing such things as:

Voice chat- They don’t want their younger audience to encounter problems online.
        Miiverse- Same reason as above
Twitch – They find it “fun” to watch games when you could play them (smart business move actually)
DVD – Their consoles are for games and games only. (It took them a while just to get YouTube, Hulu, and Netflix.)

There’s a lot of other stuff that could be said, but I’ll stop their. Nintendo is focused on games only, and while that’s not a problem a lot of people would see more appeal in their systems with these features. .Sure, I have a tablet/phone for music and movies, but I wouldn’t mind using my Wii U either, and it would hold more value. I’m not telling them to go Microsoft (with their social media Xbox) or that their systems are bad for being pure gaming devices, but Nintendo is really missing out.

This was long, I know, but I thought I’d give my full 2 cents. :)

        1. If that was true, they shouldn’t have included Nintendo TVii, allowed apps like Hulu, Netflix, etc.

I’m not complaining because I use other devices for my media needs, but Nintendo *could* have added more features that would be appealing to more people in the past. At this point though, it doesn’t even matter anymore.

Technology is changing too fast and the market is too volatile.

          1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Technology or not, the only reason to why Nintendo is forced to implement all these media gimmicks is because of the Sonyans with their DVD at PS2…

Before that everything was about gamign and gaming alone but then they had to ruin everything with that and that’s why the PS2 sold as much as it did…

Then the Xbots saw the success and took it several steps further and forced the Sonyans to do the same and today we have 2 forces battling more about specs and media gimmicks than actual gaming while our empire is being forced to include some of these things just to please the generic western gamers that are just pathetic and hypocritical…

      2. So DVD is somehow a necessity for a gaming console which has Netflix in full HD and Hulu plus Youtube to fill that void? Seriously, are people these days buying game consoles for other purposes than good video games anymore? If so, then people are seriously dumber than I thought..oh wait, I already knew that truth years ago.

Nintendo wants to make their consoles as fun, affordable and unique as possible on its own playing field which is gaming and it doesn’t need any fancy BS that’s already outdated. Yes, powers in PS4/One are not powerful and still lack in comparison to high end PCs dated back in 2007. Let Nintendo make consoles as properly as possible the way they want and fans on some areas. You wanna judge and buy consoles for fancy BS, go waste your time on those other gimped PC boxes and keep waiting years for that exclusive game to make those PC boxes worth it because with both PS4/One being exactly the same, there isn’t gonna be any exclusives period.

          1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

And unecessary costs for gamers that don’t want to have all that pointless crap most already have at home…

          2. And tell me something, what are the chances that those same rate of PS4/One buyers are actually using other features on a regular basis besides the “games” you can find cheaper and superior on PC/Steam?

As far as I’m concerned in this debate, people who game on PC actually uses more features of a PC than fools who buys a PS4 for a freaking Blu-Ray but don’t regularly use it anyway. Everybody here has lost they way of what gaming is about. No. Its about power, its about specs, its about graphics, its about bells and fucking whistles. But we still buy shallow ass “video games” that are merely interactive CGI with repetitive ass gameplay, series with no real substance change (COD) and loaded with DRM/Microtransactions shoved so far up everyone’s ass that they failed to notice the obliviousness. But rather talk shit about Nintendo, the ONLY true surviving hardware/software video game company left, for doing what is suppose to be done in video gaming business. They have faults yes and I’m not covering that but for Christ sake, at least they’re really busting their asses for every waking moment of their careers and lives to make something fun and new for you selfish jackasses to enjoy.

Okay, now that’s out of my system, I’m officially done debating towards biased idiots for now.

            1. Wow man. All I said is that they didn’t include the features… I’m not made of money you know. I can already watch blu ray on our tv, but I’d rather have it in my Wii U from the comfort of my Gamepad. I’m just saying it’s unfair the other consoles get stuff that I like that I want to be in the Wii U. I wasn’t attacking it at all. But now you just had to take it to the next level and personally insult me about it. And so did Commander when he said “I hate this generation”. You know that kind of stuff really does hurt my feelings. I just wanted to express my thoughts and opinions about the Wii U and I hate when this happens. Maybe I should just not come to this site anymore. >.< ;_;

      3. Yup, Nintendo comes up too often with funky ideas for their hardware. They keep trying to renew the gaming experience, but at this point all we want is playing their franchises on powerful systems to really have graphics that suits and honor their classic beloved characters and universes. Plus, they’ve been doing magic with their systems, their games always look very sexy. I can hardly imagine what they would look like on powerful hardware…
Can’t blame them for not including DVD/blu-ray player though. Everybody have those in 2014, and it makes the price drop a little.
This being said, I wouldn’t call that “the cheap way”. The process of ingeneering, making prototypes and industrialisation must be pretty expensive, and that might surprise you, more expensive than Sony’s PS4s or Microsoft’s Xbox One, considering those uses mainstream PC components, way cheaper.

  17. Happy to see Nintendo on top once again and surprising enough, Capcom is right behind them. If only they haven’t turned so stupid to get high on their egos to be like the douchebag Americans producing generic and repetitive action crap after another and kill off their most important franchises like Megaman to stay alive, they would’ve been fine by now. Guess its time for Nintendo to bail Capcom out and join forces.

BTW, EA, even Microsoft shouldn’t even be on this list. Those 8 voters are probably born retarded or high off Opium to not know what greedy dipshits they are.

  18. Hmmm, Platinum Games gets no mention? Unfortunate, its a great company full of talented developers. I loved MadWorld, Bayonetta and Vanquish especially.
