Smash Bros creator Masahiro Sakurai has given us to tease regarding what to expect from the magnificent Super Smash Bros soundtrack. The official Smash Bros website has the Multi-Man Smash, Battle! Trainer Battle and Full Steam Ahead from Spirit Tracks. Here’s what Sakurai had to say.
“Choose your songs and play with features on the bottom screen. You can listen to character voices, too. One of the new highlights for this feature is the “Play in Sleep Mode” option in the upper right. If you turn this on, you can listen to the tracks with your headphones even when your Nintendo 3DS is closed. The L and R Buttons will let you skip tracks. This means you can use it as a portable music player. Enjoy listening to the tracks you love by putting all songs in loop, shuffle, or selecting your favorite tracks!!”
“In Smash Run, the background music plays randomly from the songs you select from the track list. This means you can customize your own song lineup!! Usually each stage has two tracks-which makes for a lot of songs on its own-but as a bonus, we’ve added more songs for you to enjoy in Smash Run and in the Sounds area.”
“By the way, here’s another music announcement!! You can now listen to some of the tracks on the official website. We’re planning to add more tracks a little at a time, so stay tuned.”

The only part that i hate about smash is when they remix the songs. The king K. Rool song they had in Brawl was horrid. Same as all the music for the mario underground (1-1, 1-2) level
Please don’t tell me you didn’t like the underwater theme… It was awesome!! First the classic 8-bit song, then orchestrated, and at the end those really happy arrangements that finally go back to the 8 bit version!!

Hirokazu Tanaka has done so many games. I wonder why Dr. Mario is listed specifically……. I also wonder why the composer for Xenoblade also has songs in the game…. The leak is real.
Yes because soul calibur is named throughout the list and that means there will be a character from Soul Calibur in the game. 👍👍👍👍
I hope its not real. That’d mean no one thought it’d be a good idea to put either Soul Calibur or Tales characters in the game… I’m sure the leak’s fake though.
Hirokazu Tanaka composed songs for Earthbound, why the heck Earthbound is not mentioned?
….That makes no sense. The composer of Danganronpa is in the list, and I find it hard to believe that we’ll get to see Monokuma in the next Smash Bros.
A composer is nothing to do with the game and won’t be working on a track from a game they’ve released. Like in Brawl they’ve just amassed a large group of the best composers and given them free reigns at all sorts of Nintendo tunes.
Hoping for mostly upbeat/fast-paced music. Brawl’s music was amazing, but space was wasted on slooow songs that don’t lend themselves to a fighting game.
Having slow jams like Route 211 (or whatever its called for Spear Pillar) is a crime.
and the sad Ai No Uta song, and dont forget the last unlockable, Calling to the Night.

I find it sad that many of these master pieces will not be heard on the Wii U, where the best audio experience is to be had….Spirit Tracks theme……shame…I mean, I understand that songs need to correspond to the series in the game, but come on. Both the 3DS and Wii U versions will have the same roster, so why can’t we just have all the music? What? Just to make it fair for the 3DS? If that’s true, then this is sad.
They have to sell Wii U, so they are “cuddling” more that version.
I hope Palm Tree Groove and Snowmad’s Wasteland songs from Returns and Tropical Freeze gets in!

My hopes and expectations for the games’ music just went up. Hopefully we get to hear the likes of Magnus’s theme from KI Uprising and Conquest Ablaze from FE Awakening- I don’t care which version they’re in, just so long as they are in one.
To all of you saying that because Metal Gear and Xenoblade are listed guarantees we’ll see Shulk and Snake, the list also has Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Katamari Damacy and a whole bunch of others…this means nothing, this is just a list of composers along with games they’ve worked on.
