A Rite From The Stars Sets Its Sights On Wii U

A Rite from the Stars will be released on Wii U if its funding goal is met on Kickstarter. The title is a 3D point-and-click adventure set in a dangerous yet mystical island called Kaikala, which contains a jungle that a hero named Kirm is required to delve into in order to reach The Beast’s Cave, where his destiny awaits. Kirm was chosen by the stars to become a legend among his peers from the Makoa Tribe and therefore must overcome a rite of passage. The game’s developer, Risin’ Goat, is hoping to collect at least $40,000 in pledges by September 5th.

    1. You are talking about the Xflop from Microsoft I see. It is painful when your console survives only due to third parties. Nintendo is making a profit on every WiiU. Which is outselling the DVD DVR box.

    2. Actually I think it looks pretty. I’m checking out the kickstarter page. I might support.

Looks good so far, and it’s not a fucking platformer!

  1. Call it what you want, Wii U is getting support one way or another. Some people just like to run their mouths you know? Hugs.

      1. Yeah, but nowadays indie games seem to be better than AAA titles, because AAA games these days seem to focus more on cinematics than gameplay.

          1. Not really. Unless you’re talking about your typical CoD and FPS games, pretty much every other AAA wipes the floor with indies.

  2. Does anyone remember that going INTO gamescom there were tons of rumors that Wii U would be getting an exclusive from a “major 3rd party studio” and how this kept being touted as “Proof” that Wii U was better and that even Devs preferred Wii U over X1….? What happened to all that talk? So since the rumor actually turned out to be that it was MS that got a 3rd party exclusive….now it’s not about Dev preference…now it’ about how MS is a big evil cooperation that hates gamers? Riiiiiigggghhhhhttttt…… no hypocrisy to see here….move along folks.

  3. Yesterday, August 22nd, marks the 27th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda’s release in North America.

When it arrived on the Nintendo Entertainment System it had already been out in Japan for over a year on the Famicom Disk System peripheral. The add-on used floppy disks that players had to take to kiosks and write games to the media as a rental.

Released on a gold cartridge in the West, The Legend of Zelda was the first home video game to use an internal battery for save data.

It went on to sell over 6.5 million copies and was the first NES game to sell over a million.

Nintendo recently revealed its next Zelda game for Wii U, simply called The Legend of Zelda for now. It’s currently scheduled to be released next year.

    1. Oh GOD though, what if Nintendo decided to call the Wii U Zelda game “The NEW Legend of Zelda?” I think I would quit them. Nintendo needs to get a little better at naming their games, of late the names haven’t been that great. Yoshi’s NEW Island and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS stick out in my mind in particular.

    2. seriously? man i got to quit playing video games i ain’t a damn kid anymore. i remember getting it when it first came out for the nes. that gold cart and circling the map where the caves were at… and getting stuck on the 2nd quest for years…

      1. lol im sorry but there are games I wouldn’t let kids play! Just started getting into nintendo at 24 and it is just great

          1. Uncharted and god wannabe in a skirt kratos now that is recycled. Nintendo had a first party library counting 50 plus games of great repute, Sony has what? Oh! I forgot little small planet lol.

          1. Halo is a mundane FPS. Had it been on the WiiU or PS4 it would be just a game. On the console with the worst first party options it is a dream. Halo is nonsense in game form.

  4. Hey, Alba, what/who sets the guidelines for posting about Wii U kickstarter project? There’s lot’s of games on kickstarter that have wii u goals, but this is only the 2/3rd one I have seen embraced by Mynintendonews. Is it just random? Cause there are many good looking kickstarters that could use more people spreading the word (only if they are Nintendo related, of course).
    Thanks.

  5. Okay. I backed it. $20. I get my name in the credits, get a star named after me, a 120 char quote, and a copy of the WiiU ver. (download code)

I hope it gets backed! Looks pretty nice. It’s a gamble, but Hopefully I’ll get lucky!

  6. Oh good. The Wii U is part of it’s main goal. If it was a stretch goal, I wouldn’t chance donating money. If it gets the money it needs for the other consoles but not the Wii U, you wasted your money if you were donating to help it reach the Wii U stretch goal.

  7. Hi everyone!

My name is David and I am member of the studio developing A Rite from the Stars.

First of all, I want to thank mynintendonews.com for talking about our game. Secondly, I’d like to ask for your support to reach our goal at kickstarter or, at least, to spread the word about our game by means of social media, forums, etc.

All your help is welcome and much appreciated!

    Cheers,
    David – Risin’ Goat
