    1. Flying start flat on it stomach.
Next week less than 5K sold.
How many American soldiers was there stationed in Japan currently?

      1. And if it continues to crush WiiU?

I hope this is a wakeup call for Nintendo. They’ve lost the core gamers, a few of us are left, but the rest either have a WiiU + another console, or they’ve left Nintendo all together.

          1. I’ve been a Nintendo gamer since the original NES. So just WiiU / 3DS. I’ve been thinking about getting a used 360 to play with friends and family since Nintendo can’t land 3rd party support.

I do a lot of gaming, and there’s no way I’m dropping $400 on another console, that’s 6-8 AAA games, or a ton of Indies. ;)

So yeah. I’m a Nintendo fan, but as my Avatar name suggests, I’m often “jaded” as I feel like I get screwed over constantly.

          2. crush? seriously? this is a terrible launch.. just 25.000 units in its first couple days… i don’t think any console has ever done that badly in japan

            you just wait and see
it will plummet to a mere trickle in the following weeks, probably comparable to the xbox 360’s current performance

        1. I wasn’t talking about you, there was another guy saying these numbers were good. But you know, this site is full of trolls…

    2. 25,674 for the console and 8,961 for it’s best selling game… I really have to wonder why Microsoft even bother with Japan with sales like those.

            1. Some people don’t count “bundle sales” like how some people don’t think it is fair to say Wii Sports sold as many as it did considering it was bundled with the Wii consoles from the start.

Same could be said about Titanfall…

      1. If xBox oversells the WiiU by 15,000 units each week, then it will make up for not launching with 300,000 in sales in about 4-5 months.

Now, if this is a fluke, and xBox starts to sell like the WiiU or worse in upcoming weeks, then yes, it’s silly.

Unless xBox isn’t region locked? Does anyone know? If it’s not, then it’s still a good move to be in Japan.

        1. a fluke? what the hell are you going on about? it’s the bloody launch week…
of course it’s selling much more than its average in the first couple days, new products always do
          it’s not a fluke, it’s a disaster

          1. If it continues to sell like the 3DS, the long term could be good for Microsoft. If it sells like the WiiU in a few weeks, then they’d be there just to have a presence in Japan, not to make money.

            1. where on earth did you get the idea that it would continue to sell like the 3DS? i mean seriously.. have you even bothered to look at comparable launches? i recommend you do that and then reconsider your theory
with a launch that bad MS could be damn glad if the XBO even reaches the sales of the wii u in the following months

        2. Xbox One sales will dwindle after it’s launch in Japan. No one needs to do any math or research of any kind to realize this. I bet you $100 it falls below Wii U sales.

                  1. No, it is dreadfully horrible. If a 3 year old console can outsell one that came out that week, the new console is selling horrible.

                    1. Those are really good numbers for new console from manufacturer with almost none fanbase in whole country. Those sales are something like 20000-30000% of last months weekly sales for Xbox 360? There is a good change microsoft can actually get their foot in japan this time. Maybe not as number 1 or 2 console manufacturer but still. Competition is always good.

                  2. The Xbox One is selling awfully in Japan. You don’t need to compare the numbers to other existing or once existing consoles to know that 25,674 consoles sold AT LAUNCH is abysmal. Unless Microsoft only supplied Japan with 25-30 thousand consoles in the first place (which I guess is possible), the numbers are awful. Even if they did only supply Japan with 30 thousand consoles, the numbers are not anything to brag about.

All that would show is Microsoft knew their console wouldn’t sell in Japan and the sales prove their prediction was right.

              1. Lets compare it to how PS4 started then, 300k first week, and even on its third week sold more than Xbone.
Wii U sold 300k on launch as well.

              2. So what are you supposed to compare it to? I don’t know if it’s better than the 360 launch, but even if it is, it still was beaten by a almost 3 year old console.

                1. You compare it to money. 25,000×500( assuming all xbox ones sold with the kinect ) = $12,500,000. Let’s try to make a console and see how hard it is to make 12 mil.

                  1. Sure, it’s not bad. But compared to other areas, not so good. We’ll just have to wait a few months to see where it really places on the list!

                  2. and now compare that to the costs for localization, logistics, advertisements and last but not least launching the thing in japan.. i’ll bet you that these costs far surpass the 12.5 million

          1. Dude please. That’s abysmal for a debut week and not to mention it’s best selling game only sold over 8,000 copies. Nobody wants the Xbox brand in Japan just face it

      1. Yup, combined 3DS sales still top the charts. I don’t really get separating the sales completely, people are buying the systems for the exact same games after all.

    3. Nintendo is my Blood Reborn

considering the first week should be the best week for a hyped up console, the Xbone is doing absolutely shocking.

    4. Ps4 is closing in on the Wii U, too. Though, it might be just a one week thing, they both sell between 6-10k each week. Going to be interesting to see how much the Xbone drops next week!

      1. I don’t think it will drop in a week, hopefully it sells well. But yeah those number are not so good for a launch at all :/

        1. Xbox isn’t exactly a fan favorite in Japan, so I’m guessing it will get the same sales as the 360. Still going to sell well around the rest of the world, though.

    5. People dont understand that for a launch this is ok, but its not selling well just one week cant say how well the console is selling, we’ll see this next month when the xbo will be selling as much as the ps4 and wiiu.

      1. No it’s not ok. Normally the argument for “one week can’t say how well a console is selling” is used to explain how a new console will always sell a ton of units and will most likely drop exponentially afterward. The Xbox one in japan is already selling like a console that has been out for a year or more, and that is horrible.

    6. Nintendo is my Blood Reborn

Seriously, the Xbone is undesired in Japan.
PS4 launch sales in the first 2 days were over 322000
Wii U sold 308 000 units in the first week

This is not even a third of it’s competitors

      1. I feel bad for Microsoft, I really hope the console sells well :/ Trust me I really did not like it at all but I don’t want to have less options for gaming

          1. No men, we really need more options on gaming. I really want to support Microsoft but I can get the games I am interested on my pc. I need a reason to actually get a xbox one.

                1. All I remember was that Banjo Kazooie game they teased but that was on kinect… ;-; I really want to support them but dayum >_<

        1. Nintendo is my Blood Reborn

There was a time when they thought that? How stupid, if Sickr and iceazeama were the same, i’d say he/them had some serious personality disorders…

        2. I still think iceazeama was the definitive troll on this website for numerous reasons. I only look at him as a commenter with great troll elements though and not actually supposed to be a troll.

    7. 2002.02.22 [Microsoft XBox] (¥34.800) – 123,929 (3 days)
      2005.12.10 [Microsoft XBox 360] (¥29.000 / ¥39.795) – 62,135 (2 days)
      2014.09.04 [Microsoft XBox One] (¥43.178 / ¥53.978) – 23,562 (4 days)

      2012.12.08 [Nintendo Wii U] (¥26.250 / ¥31.500) – 308,570 (2 days)
      2014.02.22 [Sony PlayStation 4] (¥41.979 / ¥46.179)- 322,083 (2 days)
      2014.09.04 [Microsoft XBox One] (¥43.178 / ¥53.978) – 23,562 (4 days)

          1. Xbox One will only sell about 3K this week…..if their lucky. Plus, 3DS will see another increase because Smash Bros For 3DS releases on Saturday. Am I right Commander???:)

                        1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

Not quite and an alien technological drone like me has so much more going on than a primitive pathetic human computer…

      1. Samurai Warriors sold 15k, and did nothing for PS4 sales.
`Hyrule Warriors sold 70k with almost 50% increase in Wii U sales increase in Wii U sales.
I thought Warriors was big in Japan?

      2. Just wait until Nintendo launches two Wii U games coming up later this month– Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden and Bayonetta 2.

        1. Nintendo is my Blood Reborn

Launch numbers for both the Wii U and PS4 were over 300 000 at launch, your argument is invalid, in other words, exposed.

      3. The Xbox360 sold 60k on first 2 days, the XB1 sold less than its half in 4 days

And people sy that this is a wake up call for Nintendo LOL

      4. 25K… Utch, terrible start for the Xbone. They should just sotp trying to conquer that japanese audience, already half the exclusives of the 360 were japanese-themed shmups and JRPGs and it didn’t do shit for the sales in that country, the console still sold like absolute shit,Japanese are big chauvinists who just won’t buy anything video game related that isn’t straight out from Japan.

      5. I say by next week Xboxone will be at where Wii U is. A week later it’ll be behind PS4. After that week, it’ll be where 360 is until the next generation consoles come out.

      6. Sorry, but whoever says that this is good for Microsoft is just in denial or trolling.

Let’s say all 3 consoles were released at the same day.

300k for Wii U and PS4, and then 25k for Xbox One. How is that good for a console’s first week in the market?

Clearly people don’t care about it there and surely it will be like 10k the next week, and then like 5k, and surely it will stay at like 3k after that.

Xbox One is just not welcomed in Japan, even the Wii U outsells the PS4 there, they are very Nintendo.

While in USA they are very PS4 and Microsoft, Japan is not full with insecure teenagers that need shooters and sports to feel like men and cool.
