  1. Cap'n Nintendo Beard of the Nintendo isles

Argh mateys, admiral Sickr has set sail for flame war, cast yee sails, we drink troll blood tonight!

    1. I’ve seen the gameplay and made me have second thoughts on getting the game. It almost looks as boring. Endless exploration in a desert setting and its open world is almost “too vast” that it takes time for action and enemies to kick in.

        1. I’ve seen some gameplay, I mostly see deserted sandlot junkyard settings and seems too open or have less enemies to fight. I haven’t checked the multiplayer but after what I just saw, I’m having second thoughts about buying this. Looks like yet another shallow game of false promises just like Watchdogs.

          1. You haven’t seen enough footage then, especially if you’re basing it on the single player, the weakest point of the game. I’ve played Destiny, the best part about it is playing with your friends. It’s what makes the game tick, especially after you reach the endgame.

            1. But the disappointment is that it sorta promises something unique and just reveals to be another generic Halo-like shooter. Of course it’ll be fun in multiplayer..at least for a while but I’m probably not gonna touch this game until I try a demo or someone else’s copy first.

            2. I saw someone play it for more than twenty minutes. It looks like a downgraded version of planetside 2. At least planetside 2 was interesting.

              1. what fucking problems ???? it was a great game and a very creative one , what’s wrong with it ?? seriously i don’t know why people complain much about it ,

      1. Stranga is hating on one of the most anticipated 3rd party games of 2014, which, by the way, is skipping the WiiU ? I didn’t see that coming ! Not at all !

        1. How am I hating on it when I’m not even talking dumb blind BS about it? If I were to say “this game sucks and not what I expected or this is a Halo ripoff”, then you’re welcome to say something. I’ve seen the gameplay and its kinda disappointing to not met my expectations to the fullest. Then again, this is just another FPS so I should’ve known better. lol

And I could care less if it skipped Wii U or not. I was thinking of getting it with PS4 before I changed my mind after seeing it. Maybe my cousin next door would get one so I can try it at least.

          1. You call it boring, disappointing, unexciting and generic, before even having tried it out yourself.
And the reason why I mentioned it skipping the WiiU is because I actually believe that’s one of the things that make you say bad stuff about 3rd-party games, no matter how good they are. Because they simply don’t make their way on the WiiU, they seem to instantly become “bad” games for you. Or, that’s the impression I’ve been getting from you since… Pretty much always, lmao.

            1. I said I’ve only seen videos and doesn’t interest me as its being another shooter. I want to try it for more in depth experience but here you go shoving twisted words and phrases in my mouth and needlessly brining up Wii U as your excuse for your argument. 1. Pathetic and 2. Uncalled for.

Even if Destiny were on Wii U, I would consider it just like I made consideration for it with PS4 later. So don’t get it twisted buddy. Now look who’s talking about “damage control” this time.

              1. How exactly have I put words in your mouth though ? I used the words “seem” and “I believe”, and that I get the IMPRESSION of those things, I never said it’s actually that way. It’s merely how you make things seem, so calm down, mate. Don’t get so defensive about something that you claim isn’t true anyway.
                Also, damage control ?
                ????
                What.

                    1. Coming at me about saying Destiny is not living up to it expectations as another overhyped game and then unnecessarily bring up Wii U into the picture which had nothing to do with Destiny.

You’re defensive and damage controlling all over the place when I say something that’s only half negative.

                    2. As already mentioned, the reason why I brought up the WiiU wasn’t because of Destiny in particular, which actually is rather obvious in the comment I made, imo. Not that hard to understand, really.
I’m still failing to see where exactly I’m being overly defensive about anything, unlike you, actually. Also, I’m assuming you don’t really know what damage control really means, as you’re throwing the term around absolutely pointlessly, at quite unrelated points.

            2. It’s the same as any FPS. I saw quite a bit of gameplay footage of it, and it’s just the same cut-and-dry MMO FPS. Even Planetside 2, with its wierd collision mechanics, was better, by far.

It’s basically the hipster version of CoD, but worse because it’s also pretentious.

              1. It’s really unfortunate for you to feel that way about the game, because I’m having one hell of a good time with it. I sincerely wish you’d have the same amount of fun with it, because being able to truly enjoy a game sure is a great thing I wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on. (:

                1. EstocZero, Nintendo Assassin

Glad you’re enjoying it, but I personally dislike a lot of FPS’s due to tired, repeated tropes. I love borderlands 2 because it did things differently. CoD, other than CoD zombies, pretty much showed me every clique in the book for FPS’s.

                  1. I honestly haven’t really played CoD since MW2. I don’t think it’s a terrible series, not at all, but there certainly are better ones. In my opinion, at least. I’m more of a Battlefield person tbh. Looking forward to Hardline by the way, the beta was really enjoyable, so I’m having high hopes for it. d: It also was less glitchy than BF4 was in its first months, so that’s a good sign I guess, lmao.

          2. Actually, she’s right. I’ve been hearing you say you want to play the game and I think it’s kind of suspicious that you would all of a sudden lose interest when it gets in the top of the charts. I don’t get it. :/

            1. If you’re talking about Destiny, then its because I’ve recently seen the gameplay and such and, while not alone in this, I’m disappointed to see that its not as special or innovative or legitimately hyped as I thought. It just looks like another typical shooter at best. Its like how I feel about every new COD in the past after MW2. They say its unique and different but it always ends up being the same, familiar thing. These studios need to cut that shit out just to sell more generic stuff. I want something different in the FPS genre for once and stop riding on Halo and COD’s dick of fluked success.

            2. Or could be that it being @ the top of the charts creates an article, which creats a relavant opportunity to express his displeasure.

              But what do I know?

      2. I knew you’d say that. I just knew it. Same story for The Last of Us, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive…etc (At least for Sunset you said you didn’t like it from the start…)

        1. And there you go. Saying something about what I didn’t say. I never said I dislike Sunset Overdrive. I just don’t care about it since its Xbox DOne, the one excuse of a console I will never bother to touch, not when it has the tendency to explode on me.

          1. “Xbox Won The One in Everything Console” Your argument has been nullified. Anyway, I’m just pointing out that you’re constantly damage controlling everything to the point where it becomes really unrealistic. It’s just something that you want to watch out for. You don’t want to become a puppet to any one company. All games should get the benefit of the doubt no matter what console they are on. I think quite a few games on the Xbox and PS4 look good even if I don’t own them at the moment.

            1. Answer this then: If its truly all in one, why can’t it play 360/real Xbox 1/Live Arcade games done and purchased in the past or better yet, WORK PROPERLY? Do you have an answer or are you gonna try dodging bullets and switching subjects again? B/

              1. Sure, I can answer that one pretty easily. Think of “The One in Everything” to mean that it can play TV shows, Play Games, and play Movies as well as music. Why should it play last generation material? That would be like going to Gamestop and asking for the original Xbox. It got fazed out faster than my current hairstyle!

I never said that the Xbox is perfect and nobody’s supposed to take the title completely literal. It still is the One in Everything console in the sense that you can use it for all of your entertainment needs. It also works very well since it doesn’t have a problem with its controller shorting out and forcing you to replace it (Wii U) or making an annoying clicking sound while refusing to play games (PS4) The Xbox Won truly…Won!

                1. Ah yes, the original Xbox. The 1 Xbox exclusive I wanted were Panzer Dragoon Orta & Ace Combat 6. & as far as multiplats go, if Psychonauts was significantly better on it than on PS2, Sphinx & the Cursed Mummy & the PoP trilogy significantly better on it than GCN & PS2, then Xbox might’ve gotten my attention.

The only X1 exclusive I’m interested in is Cuphead & maybe Scalebound. As far as multiplats go, well, MGS: Revengance & Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z are only on 7th gen platforms; the original Bayonetta is coming to Wii U; &, well, most of the genres & gameplay ratios I want are on Wii U & 3DS.

                2. Sorry, but here’s where we part ways.

The Xbox One uses a dinosaur power and graphics software that eats up a tremendous amount of power. Because of this, many have a tendency to overheat and/or explode. It also significantly effects your electric bill.

The Xbox One was a rushed system because Microsoft was planning on making it more like a PC, with code-activated games similar to Steam. They also planned on making it so that if you weren’t constantly online, you couldn’t even play multiplayer, and planning to build the kinect INTO the system, and have it always be on. They also planned to have it randomly take pictures of you, without warning. Don’t ask me why, but that was the case.

The Xbox One struggles, and I mean STRUGGLES, to maintain a steady 720p 60fps on most higher-end games, despite its “hardcore gam3r graphix” claims. Often, running these games over a period of about an hour can cause some systems to overheat. Keep in mind that this was the system microsoft boasted would run 1080p and 60fps with no issue.

Because of this, microsoft quickly abandoned their crappy idea and instead installed a bunch of bells and whistles on their system, hoping to at least attract some attention with that. They did, but not the good kind. Most were turned off by that, especially Japan, who never really liked microsoft to begin with.

They then started advertising “it’s an all-in-one system”. Rather than attract the true hardcore gamer audience, they attracted dudebros who blindly defending it, praising its techy charm.

Now, practically speaking, how does the Xbox fare?

                  It fails, horribly.

The system can stream things and you can watch TV through it, yes, but these things are precisely what cause the massive power consumption in the first place. And besides…why the fuck would you want to watch TV through the game console? That’s why you have a cable box. And Netflix? Not a new feature. PS4 can run it much more efficiently, with less hiccups and no explosions, and the Wii U, due to the gamepad being a receiver and transmitter of data, processes internet data very very efficiently.

Then they have NFL features. Yay, football. Because THAT’s sure to attract a foreign audience, to display a traditionally American sport as one of its main features. Yup.

Oh, and the kinect. Because that was ALWAYS a good idea. (sonic riders)

What else…hmmm, can’t seem to think of anything new, different, or useful. It’s almost as if these gimmicks were USELESS or something…

Oh wait, they improved the controller’s responsiveness! Hooray, now you can play games in lowered resolution and FPS that much smoother! Or as smooth as you can go with framerate issues, that is.

All in all, I just don’t see the appeal in the system, once looked at without rose-tinted glasses.

            2. Sometimes those “puppets” want a particular experience that the other companies just aren’t providing. PS4, X1, & most 3rd parties are offering one thing while Nintendo & a few 3rd parties are offering something else. Even if 3rd parties were releasing all their multiplats on Wii U & w/ the same respect & parity, I’d still be saddened @ what sells the most. Likewise, if PS4 offered experiences like PS2 did, & Wii U offered experiences like PS4/3 & 360/1 do, I’d have a PS4 instead of a Wii U.

            3. I partially agree with you, but I really don’t think ANYONE should buy a game console if it has the possibility of literally blowing up in your face. I’d rather have some mediocre games than no face.

  2. isn’t it crazy how all those people went out and paid for it, not knowing that the game was a hollow fps shell. Bunjie ypu really dropped the ball. Just like Titanfall and watchdogs, you promised something innovative and spectacular and didn’t come close to delivering on that problem, by the way first! XD

  3. Once again, UK loses my respect on buying garbage but when it comes to Destiny, man, its yet another case of Watchdogs and Titanfall not delivering such promising “innovation”. The game feels almost abandoned in its open world setting and unexciting. I got mt hopes up for this game..over nothing? I need to stop falling for these types of hypes but luckily I didn’t buy it to join the club of disappointment. Might as well stick woth Nintendo for this year and get PS4 later in 2015 whenever the better games come out. This year is one hell of a disappointment for PS4 (don’t care about Xbetamax DOne DRM ass)

      1. Actually no. Both consoles or one console and a big ass black DVR that explodes, ATM hardly have anything worth while and makes me scream “I gotta have this”. Only Nintendo has adequately hyped games this year and I’m mostly never disappointed with their software. The ONLY game I’m interested in PS4 right now is GTA5, nothing else..well, maybe Infamous Second Son with the First Light DLC too.

In the mean time, I’ll wait for PS4 to get better games by next year before I consider getting one. Right now, Wii U and 3DS it is.

      1. Since when? 2 minutes ago? lol

Anyway, this is always the case with UK buying some of the most overrated games plus that garbage COD Ghosts (WTF is that still selling over there? lol) and even most from EA, the biggest industrial con artists in history.

    1. In fairness, it’s a new game, it’s to be expected. But I agree, I am ashamed to be British Gamer based on the fact that the people here in the U.K, buy rehash crap every year, same old Fifa, same old Call Of Duty, same old rip off of successful games. The rest of the U.K better get their act together, buying the same rehashed games every means less money for essential things like food and electricity……….

        1. Exactly, I wish I was Japanese, you know apart of a Country that actually has good taste in video games and doesn’t fall for the hype……

            1. I’d rather play a game that takes years to develop and is well polished, then a game that takes a 6-9 months to develop for a yearly game that is full of bugs and glitches…..

          1. Wrong. Actual translation is this:

“UK only and mostly buys anything out of EA’s ass and other garbage like COD Ghosts” Fixed. I always knew UK never liked Nintendo but rather buy more rehashes and trash than Americans. Its a sad world after all. lol

  4. The funny thing is that everyone here is gonna bash it based on what they hear from other haters/Nintendo fanboys and haven’t actually played the game itself

        1. Yea, I got it on PS4 ! Personally, I enjoy it a lot, especially when playing with other people. Of course it depends on your personal taste in games, but IMO, there’s not much you can do wrong with buying it. I’d recommend it. (:

    1. The really hilarious thing is that everyone elsewhere (& some here) bashed Wii U based on what they heard from other haters/Ponies/Xbots & haven’t actually played the console itself.

  5. It’s amazing how they still throw these same games (as Destiny) in the last gen platforms (PS3, X360), is pure greed and the worst that they know that it will sell well, along with major versions (PS4, Xone).

    Stinky ports.

  6. So, Watchdogs is still in the top 10 and Destiny owned on the Xbox Won as well? Poor MK8 isn’t even in the top 20 anymore….LOL. Not to bash Nintendo, but after all the damage controlling…it’s hard to resist.

Destiny is a great game and it’s a really good FPS. Halo is going to have to bring their A game on the next release now. Hopefully the sales continue to be strong in the upcoming months!

    1. True, I’m from the U.K and even I’m ashemed of the morons I call my fellow countrymen and countrywomen. Same old crap as always, U.K will unfortunately never change. But on the bright side, Tomodachi Life is doing pretty well, Mario Kart refuses to stay away from the overall list and Mario Kart 7 makes a pleasent return to the top 40, so that’s decent, right Commander???

        1. The next couple of months and 2015 will hopefully be kind to the Wii U, with big name titles such as, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Yoshi’s Wooly World, Zelda U, Captian Toad:Treasure Tracker, Splatoon and many more games to come. The advert on the side of a website that I saw not too long ago was right, The Time Is Now for Wii U to shut it’s naysayers up once and for all……….

  7. Destiny had a lot of potential, however, when I played it, it fell flat on its face, I expected more. It had an interesting story though.

  8. Ridley 2 Big 4 Smash? More Like 2 Big 4 U Wiiklings 2 Control! Leave Him 2 The Masters!

All 4 ports are in the top 4? xD Of course the PS4 version would be on top, though. I’m surprised the PS3 version also didn’t do better than the Xbomb’s version. *shrug*

Mario Kart 8 sure can’t catch a break in the UK. Maybe the DLC pack for November will help it get back to the top 10, or at least the top 15.

Once again the PS4 version of Watch_Dogs is in the top 10. Ubibullshit really should cut the price for Watch_Dogs for Wii U to 40 or 50 bucks. Maybe that price will help it sell some copies.
