Nintendo Apologizes For Banning Peach Players In Smash Bros 3DS

Nintendo has issued an apology for accidentally banning Peach users in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. In the fighting game’s online section For Glory, where items aren’t supposed to appear, the blond princess’ turnip-plucking ability is sometimes mistakenly considered cheating and therefore results in a temporary ban. The firm is preparing to fix the the bug via an upcoming update, which is scheduled to be released within a week in Japan.

“We are truly sorry for any trouble this has caused players,” Nintendo said in an official statement.

      1. I don’t even see what the big deal is. It happens when you use peach’s down+b right at the beginning of the match, so just wait one second after the match starts and you’ll be fine. Of course they’ll fix it but some of you are acting like it’s a game breaking bug. The truth is if you have common sense, which a lot of you don’t, this won’t affect you in any way.

        1. Another article from somewhere else suggested that the ability isn’t supposed to exist at all, as the turnips are considered items, to which “For Glory”, if I understand, is an itemless mode. The issue here is that since its an ability producing an item rather than an item itself, it makes it past into For Glory mode, but issues the ban once the item is used. This article also stated that people with peach were being banned even if they didn’t cheat by using the item ability.

Either way, glad Nintendo acknowledged the issue and are working to fix it.

  1. And for those arguing Nintendo over incompleted game launches, don’t even get started because this could happen to any big video game and testers could miss the bugs until it surfaces by players. This is to be expected from any gaming company but give them credit for acknowledging such faults and prepare timely patches so whiners can keep enjoying their games. May I remind you idiots who bought BF4 and even Arkham Origins that when those game breaking glitches were founded and reported, guess what those assholes did? They put DLC packs before patches or just leave them to continue rotting sold copies. So there you have it hypocrites. Don’t start a fight you ain’t prepared to finish.

    1. Stranga you are the biggest damage controller I’ve seen since George W. Bush. Your fucking pathetic. Your arguments are gabage, period…

    2. If we want for Nintendo to be the best, we need to ask for them to be better, not making excuses for them or saying they could be stupid because there are even bigger stupid also making games to.

This is not a weird hard to do/get bug that only happen if some random and weird thing happens at the same time (Twilight princess, Skyward Sword, Metroid that other game), this is something that should have been tested from the start, this is like if in Mario Kart 8 a character did not lose speed entering on snow, mud or grass.

This just mean they did not properly test how the “for glory” mode would react to Peach.

      That is unacceptable.

      1. I think you are over looking one major fact. The only way to test the ban systems is for people to be banned. For Glory was tested and it works as intended. Its the ban system that isn’t working correctly.

      1. I don’t condone what they do which is sometimes strange but in this case, its nothing and I’m bringing up a point. Everything and everyone is about attacking Nintendo something to everything. Damage control..my ass.

    3. Yeah expected for every company so why are you bashing EA and WB then? EA has literally only made 2 buggy games (which they fixed very quickly for both) and WB released only one (which as far as I know haven’t even had any major bug reports so your point was kinda irrelevant). So Nintendo can be excused but other companies can’t? Hypocrite much?

      1. EA has deliberately rushed and flawed a lot more games in its career for profit and ends up losing fans and respect. So yeah, EA is a lot worse. As for WB, they need to learn that lesson for Arkham Knight, other wise they’re simply repeating another greedy mistake again which shows how short term stupid they are.

    4. Are you stupid? EA acknowledged the huge bugs almost immediately after people started complaining. They patched the game up within a month, bet you’re too delusional to realize that. How the fuck was Arkham Origins buggy? I don’t see anyone crying about it at all, except you of course. The real hypocrite here is you bro, defending Nintendo and giving weak excuses and “examples” of other games, trying to put other companies down to glorify Nintendo.

      1. Not exactly and not always. EA has earned their terrible reputation for a damn good reason: All they care about is money and swaying the stupidest of all people to get it. They patch games in a month? A lol That’s funny. Because we that’s not what Battlefield 4 demonstrated. DLC > patch is what they do. Stripping certain aspects of game as DLCs and add on while charging those gimped game at full price, is what EA does. Stop kissing their ass because it goes to show that you’re another one of their retarded cattle they’ll freely milk you dry. Even idiots can manipulate idiots.

      2. strangas not wrong you two are! XD EA sucks ass when it comes to glitchy games. their new sims, has glitches that cause you to lose your save data and arkham origins xbox360 version was so buggy some people couldn’t finish the game! I’ve never had a game breaking glitch with nintendo which is more than I can say about any EA game.

      3. Ridley 2 Big 4 Smash? More Like 2 Big 4 U Wiiklings 2 Control! Leave Him 2 The Masters!

Oh look! One of EA’s suckers that’s defending them. No wonder that DLC company didn’t get the Golden Poo Award 3 times in a row.

  2. Hi everyone, I am a person who really wants to play the Smash Bross Demo for 3DS. I have this days looking for a download code but cant find one, so Im wondering if someone could help me with this. I really wanna try this game!! Thanks

    my email is antonioletona@hotmail.com

  3. Does anybody have a spare demo code that they’re willing to give away? I have nothing to give in return, but I would genuinely appreciate it.. :D

      1. They can say whatever they want to. I just got a 3ds xl, and dont plan on destroying it in playing SSB. They should be looking into the rate of systems having this issue, old and new versions. To say something like ” play less smash” is overly dumb so I’ll lose that whole bit. Im as careful as a clam with my electronics, if you think all the care in the world will still stop this from happening then youre foolish. Anyway, still excited. If worst comes to worst, ill just upgrade to the Wii U.

        HUZZAH!

    1. Looking Into what? take better care of your system. It’s not Nintendo’s responsibility when you are the ones breaking it. People have been playing a lot of games, some of which put a lot more strain on the circle pad then a smash bros game. If they are breaking now its because you are beating them up to much.

People need to learn not to be so rough with their handheld’s.

        1. You would be able to feel the rubber breaking on your circle pad. So yes, if you start feeling that while playing seriously you should probably tone it down. I personally think with refinement and care, it’s perfectly possible to play seriously and still treat your 3DS well.

  4. I hope those are throwaway e-mails. I, personally, get annoyed at the incessant begging and, had I the inclination, I could very well ruin your inboxes for good.

Alas, I don’t care enough, but if somebody else decides to, you’ve only your greedy, childlike little selves to blame.

    1. lol my friends used to call me the smash guru back in the melee days. great to hear that term again even if it’s not related to me, just brings back awesome memories.

  5. While it sucks this kind of things might just happen everytime you try to implement an online game with a controlled environment to keep players respecting each other, not too long ago when Killer Intinct had an update where they would ban cheaters and trolls they had the exact problem, the system was banning innocent players randomly. It does suck but there’s no need to judge Nintendo I guess, let’s just hope it gets fixed soon and well, 1 day isn’t nearly as bad as it was for other players on other games.

  6. Ridley 2 Big 4 Smash? More Like 2 Big 4 U Wiiklings 2 Control! Leave Him 2 The Masters!

I hope they fix these issues before it releases outside of the US. If not, I’m staying far away from For Glory. I much prefer matches WITH items, though. Smash Bros is so much more fun when the battle is in chaos from all of the items being used like Pokeballs & Assist Trophies.

  7. Cap'n Nintendo Beard of the Nintendo isles

Argh, the damage controlling is in the salty sea air, scallywags, ol’ Cap’n says that if dar is one thing Nintendo be good at, it is fixin hulls of our ships, happened during the Luminose City incident o’ 2013.

A bit o’ tinkering and fiddling will fix our vessels lickity split or my name ain’t Cap’n NintendoBeard.

The 3rd Party Defenders are in full force today it seems.
