Sakurai Says He Will Continue Smash Bros Pic Of The Day On Miiverse

Super Smash Bros producer Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that he will continue posting Super Smash Bros pic of the day posts on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U social network, Miiverse. Sakura says that even though the game is already out in Japan he won’t post any spoilers for those that have so far successfully avoided them.

Announcement: Originally, the pic of the day was only supposed to continue for about two months, but I’ve ended up posting pictures until even today. The 3DS version has already been released in Japan, so I would like to talk about how future posts will be handled. First, I will not talk about hidden features until the game is released overseas. On the other hand, I definitely will talk about them after the game is released abroad. In addition, I am planning to continue making posts at least until the Wii U version is released. I haven’t decided if I’ll go by the Japanese version release or the release of versions abroad, but the point is that I’ll continue posting for a little bit longer. Pic of the day won’t focus on introducing new information anymore in the near future, but I hope to entertain you with interesting and funny photos like I originally intended to. Thanks.

Thanks, gamertimeus

  1. No shit, Sakurai¡ Now can you stop hyping the 3DS version of the game and start giving me reasons as to Why I should want the Wii U one?

    1. Well, it is Nintendo so they kinda deserve it. Don’t get the wrong idea…I’d be mad if we had to wait like 3-6 months, but just one month is fine. The only downside is that 100% of the game will now be spoiled for us.

  2. Don’t get the wrong idea. The Smash Pic of the Day is great and I’m glad that he won’t be releasing any new “spoilers” like the Duck Hunt guy or Dr Mario. It’s best to find those out for yourself. As for fans who are asking about the Wii U version, it’s not going to be as different as you think. An extra feature or two, but it’s basically a port of the 3DS version.

    1. Unless Sakurai is still working on a few extra characters that can only be gained in the 3DS version by connecting it to the Wii U version. Just because he said both versions will have the same amount of characters doesn’t mean the 3DS version will have ALL of them available from the start.

      1. True, but It is a little hard to picture that. Don’t get the wrong idea! That would definitely be an awesome feature, but I’m not expecting much more in the Wii U version. I’m sure that it’ll have some DLC though.
