Twitter user Oscar Lemaire has put together a graph showing how well the Smash Bros series has done on the formats it’s been released on in Japan via Famitsu numbers. As you can see, the launch week for Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 3DS was the biggest ever for the franchise. No doubt the Nintendo 3DS version will remain the best-selling until we get a new entry in the future.

The 3DS is fine, it’s the Wii U that’s barely making them anything.
but its still making money. that alone shows their not giving up on it. the WiiU makes a profit, and as such, their not having any plans of going third party. the PS4 is the only thing making sony money. and thats if you count only the systems and not the games, which are selling bad.
PS4 is the best selling console at the moment, it’s not doing bad right now.

Sony needs to save theirselves, not just the gaming side.

opinions opinions. i actually like this roster. when you say the N64 one is the best, your being a fanboy of only that specific game… it was great, but to say its roster wasnt lacking is an understatement. it was only with the main mascots, it was a nintendo commerical in a game.
1 clone compared to the many clones and semi clones in the later installments. 64’s had great stages and the gameplay was good. Slow but competitive.
We must be looking at different games then. I’ve only seen around 5-10 clones out of 49/50 characters.

The Duck Hunt Dog not being relevant argument isn’t relevant. Game & Watch was not relevant but was added. R.O.B. wasn’t either. Every game has a joke character. Jigglypuff was the joke of 64 even though pokemon was relevant for sure back then, Puff wasn’t on the top of anyones list. K.Rool would be great, but it might be an issue with Rare. Ganon being a clone has always sucked. Wii fit trainer is casual trash, but if that casual trash is in then duck hunt dog is far more deserving for having history besides a few peoples parents playing wii fit twice before locking their wii away. Dark pit should be an alt, and Doc too, however fludd should be gone. Waste of a move, don’t care what anyone says. What use does it have, other than trying to be a cheap edge guarder. Doesn’t even do damage. If it did, I wouldn’t mind really. But to take two seconds to charge it up and push someone back and not hurt is wasteful.
I highly doubt it’s an issue with Rare. If it was, there is no way in hell the Kremlings would be in Smash Run as enemies.

Melee was better
64/Melee. Both have great things. 64 best throws, Melee best air dodge and introduced charging Smash attacks. 64 Corneria was better than Melee’s version cause it was bigger. The pokemon board and unlocked Mario Board in 64 were great too. I can’t pick a favorite between the two games, I love the feeling of both. I love how attacks feel in 64 when you hit your opponent, it’s very satisfying.

I enjoyed Brawl, there was way more to do. The randomness of when you are playing with friends is great.
So with the Wii U version, I’m expecting a greater time. The characters are crazy and the movesets are customizable. So many combinations.
im hoping for a much improved level creator. being able to create levels similar to subspace that you can share with people and allow them to go though them, with coop enabled.
The bad thing about Brawl was the tripping. Project M made it loads better

Except for the sucky online, limited stage creator, that BS tripping plus the slower paced gameplay, Brawl was okay. But Melee puts it to shame and now the new game will too.

How did Smash Bros 3DS beat Smash Bros Wii?!? That is pretty mind boggling to me. Did people not want Brawl?
Brawl had its flaws that made some fans dislike it over time. The slower gameplay, the fucking tripping, laggy online, severely limited stage creator and even story mode was kinda okay but not as great as it should’ve been.
I enjoyed the story mode, but I agree. It could have been better. it should have involved voice acting for the characters that were known to talk in their games at the time. It would have added some nice humor when someone say Fox tries to talk to Link but doesn’t get a single word from him. lol

d.| People should be able to speak whatever language they like; however, that said, since this website is primarily english, the spanish speaker should put an effort to translate what they are saying into english BECAUSE the entire purpose of language is so we can communicate, and if you want to communicate on a primarily english website, you should try and speak english if you wish to communicate with us (otherwise, why post?).

you are so bad in Spanish that you did not release the graph was in French [LOL just joking :-)]. basically the title of the graph: sell of smash bros series in Japan (from Famitsu). the caption for the blue colour is the sell for week 1 and the 2nd caption for the red colour is for other weeks. Also oscar mention those number does not take into account the digital copies. Hope it’s help
