Sakurai Showcases Two Mega Man Trophies In New Smash Bros Wii U Screenshots

Super Smash Bros game director Masahiro Sakurai has showcased two new screenshots in his daily Miiverse picture. And it’s a day for Mega Man fans with two fantastic trophies featuring the classic anti-hero Bass and the Mega Man X protagonist and legendary fighter Zero. Both trophies are exclusive to the Wii U version and were made from scratch by the designers, as Sakurai says in his post.

The director also confirms the appearance of two other Mega Man characters in trophy form – Roll and Proto Man – cementing Nintendo’s relationship with Capcom further. Though we don’t get a glimpse of Roll and Proto Man’s trophies, it will be a nice surprise to fans of the franchise when Super Smash Bros for Wii U releases on November 21 for North America and December 5 for Europe. You can check out Sakurai’s Miiverse post below:

“Here’s Bass, a trophy for the Wii U version!! When I first saw this, I was really surprised by the quality of this trophy and Treble’s presence. Even though this will only appear as a trophy, this was made from the ground up. Designers really are amazing.

“Zero’s here too!! There are also trophies of Roll and Proto Man.”

  1. It’s weird, the only 3 Mega Man games I’ve really ever played were Megaman 2, ZX, and Starforce 2. But I still feel excited in a way whenever I see Mega Man characters.

    1. You should play the entire original Mega Man series (1-8). Awesome games. Just get the Mega Man Anniversary Collection and you’re set.

    1. It’s almost as if Nintendo loves Megaman a million times more than capcom. Really goes to show how much The Blue Bomber needs move to Nintendo and become a 1st party IP.

      1. This might just be me, but I think Megaman is starting to get some of the love back from Capcom. Because, they made a Megaman costume for the new Monster Hunter game that’s coming out.
