Monster Hunter 4G has surpassed 2 million shipments in Japan according to Capcom. The publisher announced in a press release today that the open-world action game had shipped more than 2 million units in the region, which included sales from digital eShop cards and the Nintendo eShop, in just five days. It’s a monstrous success for the game as Capcom hopes to level with Monster Hunter 4’s – the previous instalment on the 3DS – sales of 4.1 million units.
Bundled with the New Nintendo 3DS, it was clear Monster Hunter 4G was going to storm the Japanese charts this week, deserving its chart-topping position. In total, the Monster Hunter franchise has now sold more than 31 million units worldwide. But to celebrate the continuous growth of the series, Capcom will also hold new events for the game, including “KariCon – Let’s Go Hunting with MH4G” taking place in five cities across Japan. Additionally, Monster Hunter Festa ’15 will begin in January 2015. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will release for North America and Europe early next year.

So thats five million total. This is gonna be the best selling MH game yet, even better than the PSP games.

This is great news. Hopefully this time they invest in monster hunter 4 WiiU and not in another mobile games studio.
They are not going to make a Wii U version. I know it sucks, but it just aint gonna happen.
If they want to capitalize back into the home console market again, they better start turning things around and make a Wii U port with new extras and then start properly reviving franchises from there to earn back their respect.
So the version that is going o release here in America is the same that the one in Japan ?
They had Monster Hunter 4 and now Monster Hunter 4G.
Here in America, we’re not getting the “original” version. We’re getting the 4G version, which is known as “Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate”. And personally, I can’t exactly say no to THAT logic.
Hell, I already have the Collector’s Edition pre-ordered. Now I’ll just be playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on my Wii U, until I finish every single quest.
Yes. We just didn’t get the original MH4. That was Japan only. We get MH4U, which has way more content than the original.
You know, I hope it sells at least one million here in the states. I would be really pissed off if it only sells a few hundred thousand copies. We need to support the MH franchise a little better here in the West. This game sells so good in Japan, Capcom could easly make it a Japan only franchise and it would still make boat loads of money. OMG I hope that never happens…..
I said earlier that MH4 had five million sales now, I was wrong. They have over six million.. my bad.
