Nintendo 3DS System Update Now Available

Nintendo has released a new system update for the Nintendo 3DS. Unlike last time when we were granted with new features, this particular updates just includes improvement to system stability and some adds some additional minor adjustments. Nothing particularly exciting this time around I’m afraid.

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

    1. and yet STILL no region free come on nintendo get your head from up each others asses and get with the times !

      1. the fact the new 3ds isn’t region free suggests they aren’t gonna get it anytime soon if even this generation.

          1. I shall have to check lol and yea they are against it but I think I remember reading sometime this year that they planned on changing it in the future, but I could be wrong. I’ll check my e-mail now though lol

    1. that won`T happen because of lacking servers to do so. The online-system of NN is allready max loaded. Flipnote studio was even stopped some time in japan, because the online-system broke down. I guess they won`t allow it before end of 2015 in europe. Maybe then they are ready for it.

  2. Trash.. Now if they can fix the issue with jaggies everywhere on that God awful screen then that would be an update worth while.

my 3ds broke and and wont boot at all. it can turn on but wont ever go to home menu. it can do sleep mode and even if i press home button it will loading screen forever. this happened on the 16th of this month.

        1. Sorry, its not working. Ok is it under warranty (and are you in the US), cause if so call Nintendo, they will fix it for free. Opening it past the battery pack will void the warranty. IF it not under warranty it will cost like $85-90 to fix. If you feel adventurous, you could try opening the thing on the back to see if anything is loose, you will need a Phillips 000 screw driver. It cost about $8 at Home Depot.

First thing you might try is booting it up without an SD card in. If that thing is corrupt, it might stop it from loading.

If its an original DS and something came loose it probally the Wifi plug. But usually you can tell cause when you turn it on it makes a popping sound after awhile and shuts back down. IF the bottom screen loads but not the top, it pain in the ass and you will need more tools.

If it is the SD card, and you didn’t back up, your saves are gone, but you should still have any streetpasses and you should be able to get your games back through the eshop. If they aren’t immediately there, you can call customer service, they should have your serial number on record.

If its just corrupt data :(, which I think its unlikely unless the internal chips came in contact with water and fried. Its time to get a new 3DS, don’t bother with the repairs your streetpass data will be lost but your games and saves should be fine. Buy a new system, and call customer service to help you transfer to the new system.

Hope you get it working again.

  4. ANOTHER UPDATE? AGAIN?
I just barely updated my 3DS the other day. There’s too darn many system updates. And I’ve never noticed any difference with any of them.

  5. The 9.0 or 9.1system has a bug that a website has claimed to have cracked. That’s why Nintendo is trying to upgrade its recently-released system.
