Some Smash Bros 3DS Players Are Being Banned For 136 Years In A Glitch

It has come to my attention that a few Super Smash Bros 3DS players are being handed a 136 year ban. It seems as though the glitch can occur when you disconnect and/or target a specific player in team match. Reddit user Seakladoom has put together a FAQ to help players avoid the brutal glitch. Hopefully it gets resolved swiftly.

“How do I prevent this glitch from happening?”

A. Try not to target one player in Group/FFA.

B. Just use 1v1 for the time being

C. Don’t use online at all.

D. Don’t quit mid-match

Thanks, Aeruon

  1. Holy shit that sucks so much…… I haven’t been playing online on Smash 3DS anyway, the lag is unbearable.

      1. Unbearable…? Disaster…?
I know the online isn’t the best (it’s rather hit or miss), but if every single match is laggy, then it might be your connection (not the game). The ammount of people using the wifi in your home, time of day, and connection of the opposing person is the most notable cause of lagg for me.

        1. Some of these guys are such drama queens! You can’t go on with a dial up connection and expect lag-free play, lol I just haven’t been having that problem, maybe one out of every 10 matches at best

          1. Lol I’m a drama queen? Try going on a Free for all smash online and tell me you get no lag whatsoever. 1v1 is all right but I say it’s unbearable because Smash is a fighting game and even a 3 second delay can completely ruin the game because it makes it extremely difficult to get combos, recovery, and dodge.

        2. The online is perfectly fine. I have 200mbps download and 20mbps upload so I rarely experience lag. You just have to have good internet. Why the hell would you experience a game without lag if you have poverty Internet?

        3. I have the same problems when playing Smash Bros. online. The matches are always freezing and/or going in slow motion. Mostly on matches with more than 2 fighters. And I’m the only person in my house that uses my internet.

    1. When my brother plays it, he goes online with his friends. I, on the other hand, wish to bleed the single player portions of the game dry before considering it.

    1. Yes that is all the stuff you can get banned for, but the 100+ years is the glitch. Like no one can life that long. You really think they will expect someone to wait that long to play again? Lol

    1. No, he will be easier to beat, and of course everyone will try to take advantage of that, but there are people who forget about the others completely to take that advantage

      1. But wouldn’t that leave the player completely open to attack? If you desperately keep on going after one player, you’re easy pickings for the other veterans to hit you with power plays or conservative projectiles from afar. It’s not cool though I admit that. I just think it would be tough to distinguish something like that.

  3. “Well, I may be 150 years old, but at least I can finally play Smash Bros. 3DS online again.

    *groan*…Stupid lag…”

        1. Lol, exactly. And it’ll still work in general. Regardless of the network. We still have that to look forward to in 2600. Undying Nintendo games. (good times)

  4. What the fuck?! 136 years?! HOLY SHIT!!!! NO ONE WILL LIVE THAT LONG!!! NINTNEDO FIX THIS!!! I already know they will

  5. Well, Sakurai worked like a madman on this game and with all the stress and pain (from his arm), things like this happens. No game is perfect, as much as we want it. I’m sure his team will manages this.

  6. Lag comes down to your connection or whoever you’re playing. So dont blame the game. Far as this glitch, its funny but hopefully gets fixed soon

    1. I’ve never experienced lag like this in Brawl, though I haven’t played that much online in Brawl. I feel it’s both the player’s connection and the game/server at fault. I really hope that there’s no lag like this on WIi U.

  7. good news, should teach those kids not to fucking disconnect from online games. Now apply this to Pokemon please.

‘or target a specific player in team match’

lmao, okay this is kinda stupid.

  8. Just got done playing several rounds of both team and ffa. Got disconnected twice and only a few were laggy enough to be bothersome. Overall hella fun though, reall

  9. Just got done playing several rounds of both team and ffa. Got disconnected twice and only a few were laggy enough to be bothersome. Overall hella fun though, reminds me of N64 days. No banning as of yet :].

  10. HAHA, 136 years? That’s such a weird number for a ban. Though we all know Nintendo will be around 136 years from now anyway. But the person who got banned…..well you’ll die before your ban is up LOL.

  15. Crappy wifi drops out while mid match,
    banned for 135 years
For real, what do you have to do to get banned this long (not the glitch)

  16. I just hope I don’t get this ban. 136 years? Bah! *Starts to get nervous* (I never got banned for mor than 20min)
