Here’s The November Nintendo Direct Roundup

During a Nintendo Direct presentation this afternoon, Nintendo dropped a moon-sized announcement: The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, a remake of the beloved Nintendo 64 game, is coming exclusively to Nintendo 3DS in spring 2015. The Nintendo Direct video also revealed new details about amiibo functionality and upcoming games like Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Code Name S.T.E.A.M. and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

  • Splatoon: The four-on-four online multiplayer shooter also features a single-player mode, which pits a player’s squid-like Inkling character against an army of octopi equipped with an arsenal of ink weaponry. Splatoon will launch exclusively for Wii U in the second quarter of 2015.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse launches for Wii U in February 2015.
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker: A new trailer for the game debuted during the Nintendo Direct and showed snippets of some of the 70+ levels players will encounter. The game also features different challenges that, once completed, will reveal additional content in the game. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker launches for Wii U on Dec. 5.

Nintendo 3DS

  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D: One of the most talked-about games in the history of The Legend of Zelda series is coming to Nintendo 3DS. Launching in spring 2015, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D brings Link’s suspenseful, intricate quest through the mysterious world of Termina to a hand-held system for the first time with enhanced 3D graphics and added features for a smoother game experience.
  • Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.: From Intelligent Systems, the creators of the Fire Emblem and Advance Wars series, comes Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., a turn-based tactical action RPG that features characters like … Abraham Lincoln? That’s right: Abraham Lincoln leads a team of newly revealed playable characters like Tiger Lily and Tom Sawyer. Each character in the game possesses special abilities, like Tiger Lily’s healing and Tom Sawyer’s gadgets, that help players complete missions across well-designed battlefields. Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. will launch exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in spring 2015.
  • Ultimate NES Remix: The NES Remix series comes to Nintendo 3DS, combining 16 of the top NES games from the NES Remix and NES Remix 2 games on Wii U. Famicom Remix Mode offers challenges from the Japanese version of NES Remix, featuring slightly different sound effects and backgrounds, and in Speed Mario Bros., players can play through the original Super Mario Bros. ramped up to super speed. Ultimate NES Remix also features online leaderboards, allowing players to compare scores in challenges with others in their region. The nostalgic game launches for Nintendo 3DS on Dec. 5.
  • Persona Q Edition Nintendo 3DS XL: In honor of the Nov. 25 launch of the ATLUS role-playing game Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, GameStop will be the exclusive retailer for the Persona Q Edition of the Nintendo 3DS hardware. The design evokes the essence of Persona Qwith styling on the front of the iconic Grimoire – the tome used by the attendants of the Velvet Room and containing information on the many Personas – and the new style of character art represented on the back. It will be available at a suggested retail price of $199.99. (The Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth game will be sold separately. Both the Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth: Wild Cards Premium Edition and Limited Standard Edition versions of the game will be available for a limited time only.)

        1. Because its not on Wii U? XD Fuck that. There’s already a new Zelda coming and it looks epic. Massive free roaming exploration taken to a new level with no linear nature. Now that kind of Zelda will make people forget about Majora’s Mask quickly.

              1. With the New 3DS coming too in addition to the other consoles starting to get their big games out, Wii U is in trouble. And Zelda U won’t come to the rescue until the end of the year. XD

                1. Since when you’re suddenly against Wii U? I thought you like it or you were full of shit all this time as I thought? lol And what bigger games PS4 got and when its coming? Q3 2015? lol Thats when most anticipated games start coming.

                  1. I’m not against the Wii U. I just like to occasionally make fun of it. And then it’s hilarious when people get mad at me and start defending it even though I’m joking. That’s not to say I don’t do this with all consoles though. I sometimes head over to IGN and go to the Xbox section and claim how PS4 is so much better than XB1 and raging fanboys unleash their anger! It’s hilarious! LMAO.

                    1. Why the fuck does everybody ignore Xenoblade? There’s no mention of it on ign, in fact their roundup doesn’t even mention it. At least they mention it here, but it should have its own article. Even if it’s a game we already know about, it’s more important than any other game mentioned in the direct other than smash bros.

                      1. Only reason I don’t make fun of the other consoles here is because this is a Nintendo site. And Nintendo fanboys are the absolute WORST. I’ve screwed around with all 3 (and even PC) fanboys, but Nintendo fanboys are by far the worse of the bunch! The type of hypocrisy/damage control responses you get from them is unbelievable. And the sad part about it is that they don’t even know I’m joking. I like the Wii U (although it’s lack of third party is a huge issue for me because all I ever play is third party games) and I definitely think it’s improving. I like all 3 of this generation’s consoles and these flame wars and debates are so dumb. Especially from the Nintendo fanboys that say things like “graphics don’t matter” and then next thing you know, they’re all over the XB1 saying how it runs 900p and stuff. It’s hypocrisy at its finest. Then over at the PS4 section, we have the fanboys saying how power is everything and how XB1 is inferior because it runs games at lower resolutions. Then the XB1 owners try to brag about exclusives and PS fanboys brush them off saying that they’re all trash anyways. Then PC fanboys come in and try to tell those PS4 fanboys that they have better graphics. And the PS4 fanboys try to talk about (you guessed it) their exclusives. Even though they just said to XB1 owners that THEIR exclusives don’t matter to them because they have more power! Lol super hypocrisy! This gen of gamers is funny. They argue more about games than even actually saying positive things about them.

                        1. Reading this crap you type just makes me laugh. Nintendo fanboys being the worst and hypocrical? lol As if you have a goddamn clue what a hypocrite is. I don’t damage control or ignorant any BS Nintendo may pull off. Like charging $5 for a fucking still animation that anyone on Youtube can do, region locking which is understandable a bit, Wii Music, lack of Wii U advertisement from launch, don’t even think or say I’m damage controlling shit because I don’t, not like the rest of you delusional fuckheads saying one thing and then turn around saying something else like if you know exactly WTF are you talking about without being in the loop.

                          1. What the fuck are you talking about? I never said you were a fanboy. It’s almost as if you skipped over my entire comment. I literally just explained to what is wrong with all of the fanbases and you ignored that completely and looked at only the Nintendo part. -_-

                            1. Eh the worst fanboy part, whatever rather not get involved in this *flails arms* not my business since I’m not a full fanboy…

                              1. We can’t really hold it against Hollow. He probably wasn’t around when the Sony & Microsoft fanboys were ganging up on Nintendo fans & only got really into this sort of thing when a lot of us Nintendo fans just got sick of it & started striking back. Somehow in this generation, we’re now considered as the “worst” fanboys in the industry. lol

                              1. I asked around on forums why it stopped working and I tried to explain the problem and some guy replied “Your Wii U died because you’re forcing it to play third party games”. XD

                2. I’ve never been talking about it, because I’ve never played it before.

Now I can talk about it because I want it.

            1. Majoras Mask, Monster Hunter 4, Xenoblade, Zelda U,… My god 2015 is going to be epic. I can’t understand why Nintendo isn’t killing it’s competition right now. Nintendo has so much better software compared to Sony and Microsoft.

              1. Because a lot of idiots buys a Blue-Ray/DVR box for graphics. That’s it. That’s why gaming is so fucked right now but thank god Nintendo is still alive to keep the true definition and nature of gaming going. I’m proud of be a Nintendo fan and that will never change even after death.

                  1. What games? Same shit I’ve seen last year? Same fucking overhyped disappointments and lies from EA/Ubisoft/Activision? Some “good games” who’s appeal lasts for a month?

Please fool. Don’t flatter or kid yourself. Neither of those “powerful” consoles has anything good except for GTA5 with first person that. That really suprised me and knowing Rockstar, they always deliver the good shit with a bang. Until 2015, PS4/Xbetamax DOne only has the same shit which is average and unoriginal at best. Nintendo is bringing back the old creative noggin and deliver shittons of new IPs, awesome crossovers and clever ideas for their systems.

Keep on waiting for that DLC which I know you don’t have a Wii U anyway, because you’re gonna miss out on the good stuff and actual fun video games thats not merely an interactive Hollywood movie.

                    1. I’m pretty sure the Wii U is the one missing out on games. Third party developers are constantly skipping the platform; and don’t give me that “Ubishit” blah blah bullshit because you know that the Wii U CANNOT survive solely one first party games (which takes months to release).

Also you act as if the Wii U wasn’t in the same position. I’ve bet you guys really enjoyed that year and a half long game drought right? LMAO.

P.S Most of the Wii U games are the “same overhyped shit” ;)

                      1. Don’t care for any games skipping from Ubishit, EA, Activision or WB. Destiny is a DLC cash in scam by charging half a game at full price and intentionally scrapped story mode into pieces, Watchdogs is a huge ass lie and a punchless GTA ripoff, Titanfall is a Black Ops 2 copout with no story and I could care less about ASSassin’s Greed: COD Edition.

GTA5 skipping Wii U is disheartening for me and maybe Arkham Knight but that’s it. Everything else is an overhyped scam.

                  2. Collecting dust? Which exclusives your PS4 has right now that is keeping you so busy?

How is your Wii U collecting dust when Bayonetta 2 just came out, Hyrule Warriors a month ago, and in 2 weeks Smash Bros. For Wii U, and a week later Captain Toad. If you don’t buy and play them, how the fuck are you going to use the console?

                        1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

I never heard of that game before the sequel would be on our sacred machine so I had no opinions about it…

                          1. I knew about it before the sequel was even announced! See, Commander? You need my type of knowledge for the Nintendo army. I can help you! ;)

                              1. Oh yeah, that reminds me. I should probably tell you that I don’t have a Wii U or a 3DS anymore. I had to sell them both and I am no longer saving up for a PC and can’t buy anymore games at all. Money issues happened.. :(

                  3. The xbone is giving the ps4 the beatdown it deserves to get sony back in track this holiday and nintendo can already start counting the money they will make with smash.

                    1. PS4 doesn’t need to get back in track. It outsold the Xbox even though there was barely anything to play back then. When and if the Xbone catches up, then they will have to start worrying.

              2. Because better is subjective. At this point right now their is another idiot like you complaining about how the XBO has such a great line up but is still”not killing it.”

            2. One of the worst Nintendo Direct’s we’ve had so far IMO. Majora’s Mask 3d Announcement was cool (Although I really wanted it on their next handheld system) but there really wasn’t anything else that excited me.

                1. No. The direct from 2013 summer was terrible because it didn’t show much. But this one hyped for 2015 calendar mostly and gives 2014 a great kick off and closure.

What? You expect them to reveal a Wii U port of Advanced Warfare or Watchdogs? Fuck that. lol Almost everything in this direct puts third parties to shame once again.

                    1. I’m not. Its a shit GTA clone where you can’t punch anyone without having to hold a fucking assault rifle and also lied about being the so called “innovative graphic game” of the century when all it did was provide a hacking gimmick that gets boring and pointless after a while.

            3. lord ghost : king of the federation

i thought they would show watch dogs wii u trailer or some information of watch dogs for the wii u. also looks like amiibo will soon be there source for dlc.

            4. What did you expect? I hear alot of people complaining online about this direct. Nintendo fans have a bad habit of having far to high expectations. You guys expect every Nintendo direct to just blow your mind with new games and suprises. You guys need to lower your expectations, and you will enjoy and appreciate the directs more. This was a Holiday direct. They are only going to focus mainly on games for this holiday season.

              1. I don’t think this isn’t bad. In fact, it has shown much of what I want to know but maybe they should’ve saved Majora’s Mask as the last bombshell in the end which could’ve ended this direct in a higher note.

              2. This is the one statement I completely agree with. Although I’ll admit I raised my expectations a bit higher with more new stuff. I was satisfied.

            5. Does anyone know if people from the U.S. can order stuff that is a Europe release only? Like the Majoras Mask special edition? I wonder if they ship that to the U.S.

            6. Holy crap, Iwata lost a lot of weight… Hope he feels alright despite the events.
              On a more happy tone… MAJORA’S MASK 3DDDDDDDDDDDDDD !!!! :D

              1. I didn’t feel quiet surprised because I knew this was coming sooner or later. XD But what I really wanted is to see GC/N64 VC finally making a debut to launch with the GC Controller revival with Smash Bros. 4.

            7. One word about Xenoblade Chronicles X– MINDBLOWN! I see that Monolith Soft have made improvements… especially the new gameplay mechanics, monsters, dolls, and characters…. and the user interface on the Game Pad. Next X-mas, Xenoblade Chronicles X only for the U!

            8. Okay, wasn’t that great of a direct. They gave no solid date for xenoblade chronicles x, which is kind of annoying, but whatever. What bothers me the most is that they did not show anything about SMTxFE. What the hell Nintendo? What happened to this game? You announced it at the same time as xenoblade chronicles X but have shown nothing about this game at all. It’s getting close to two years and we have nothing to go on for this game. Not even a screenshot. Makes you wonder how much they even had done when they announced this game, I’m certain it’s not that big of a game, no where near the scale of xenoblade chronicles x, yet that game managed to get at least 3 trailers, 40min gameplay demonstration at e3, and has a release window.

            9. Its only me or xeno blade and splatoon look better than the previous (E3 trailer xeno blade characters move or run faster and graphics a little bit more polish) splatoon look way better than before.

Iwata at the end of the N.D. Was desperate lol.

            10. You guys complaining, just realise they have to save reveals for next year. They probably have a new Metroid, Fire Emblem, Mario Galaxy, etc. etc., but thier not going to reveal next year bombshells in a November direct. They have to save hype for E3 next year. You guys have sky high ridiculous expectations. I understand why Nintendo don’t always listen to thier fans, becouse you guys are too demanding and a little spoiled to be honest.

              1. Well, without any third party games, what else are you supposed to play? Nintendo’s the only one bringing out games for the thing at this point anyways.

                1. Nintendo is perfectly capable of supporting the Wii U on thier own. But in all honesty, their not on their own, they have dozens of third party’s helping them in different ways. But if you want to play COD, or a FPS, then that’s what a Ps4 is for. I mean seriously, if third party games is what you are interested in then play a Ps4. Hell, if the Wii U got third party games there would be no reason to even own a Ps4 or Xbox One. I have a Ps4 and honestly there are only one maybe two games so far that have peaked my interest. Alot of good games coming, like Arkham Knight and Witcher 3, but i don’t want those games on my Wii U. I want Nintendo games. Creative, intelligent, unique, original, wonderfully polished Nintendo games. When I want a grey shooter (which in fairness I do get the urge to play every so often) I turn on my Playstation.

                  1. Shooters are not what what I’m talking about. Why would you say that? I have almost no interest in those every probably Battlefield. I’m talking about all the other upcoming games like Far Cry 4, Dragon Age Inquisition, Assassin’s Creed Unity, etc. And how could you not want these games on the Wii U? That doesn’t make sense. Just because the Wii U has Nintendo’s games doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be able to get other games.

              2. Miyamoto did take SMG3 into consideration. Hoping for a E3 announcement because if there’s any game that completely caught me, it was Super Mario Galaxy

            11. at this point i do not even care about ps4 or xb1 anymore! i have 15 dl games and 4 box games allready on my wii u! and 10 note 10 more i want coming up including smash bros (last one of 2014) and that is just the tip of the iceberg! upcoming unanounced games as well coming up! i in no way regret this purchase in 2013 (yes i waited 1 year to get the wii u because i wanted to see what would come)

            12. No new trailer for Yarn Yoshi huh? Oh well it sure is going to be some great games 2015. I can’t wait to see Starfox next year.

            13. Pingback: Aquí está el resumen del Nintendo Direct de noviembre; Majora’s Mask 3D, Mario Kart 8, Splatoon y mucho más – Arcadiavg

            14. Legend of Zelda NEEDS to go die for a while. Seriously, I enjoy playing the various Zelda titles, but I’m getting sick of Zelda. A break won’t hurt..

Anyway, my highlights are Code Name STEAM, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Kart dlc. (just the track and karts though and hoping it’s a sign that a F-Zero revival will happen) and Duck Hunt’s reveal trailer.
And it is nice seeing Nintendo supporting the indie company quite a bit

              1. Are you kidding? I haven’t played a new original console Zelda since Skyward Sword. Before that it was Twilight Princess. Handheld Zelda games are just simply appetizers for the main course. Remakes are fine. I welcome as many as Nintendo is willing to make. Zelda games have such a replayability to them, so if I’m going to replay a Zelda game, it might as well be a polished remake.

            16. Why is it that whenever a flaw is pointed out by someone, they are instantly labeled as “Anti-Wii U”? No one is degrading or bashing Nintendo by saying the console is struggling from lack of 3rd party support. Half of you guys view that very line as an insult rather than a fact. Yes, it’s true we are getting a good load of 1st party titles soon, but do you honestly think that is going to be enough to keep everyone’s plates full?

            17. Why on earth doesn’t Nintendo ever say anymore about NES Remix 1 & 2 on Wii U? I mean the PHYSICAL, RETAIL version they announced a few months ago. I’ve been eagerly awaiting that game. All I ever hear about is Ultimate NES Remix for 3DS.
