UK Charts: Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Takes Top Spot, Nintendo Titles Fluctuate

This week’s UK charts are now in courtesy of GFK Chart-Track. Though a little later than usual, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has nabbed the top spot on its debut week. The first-person shooter title has unsurprisingly knocked EA’s FIFA 15 from the top of the charts, as it gets booted out of the top 5 for the first time in six weeks.

Nintendo 3DS titles such as Tomodachi Life and Super Smash Bros still remain within the top 20, while Mario Kart 8 seems to have stepped it up a notch and propelled itself form 34 to 25 this week – possibly due to the upcoming Zelda x Mario Kart 8 DLC. Skylanders Trap Team also re-enters at 36 for Nintendo’s last generation console; the Wii. Here’s a look at the UK top 40 individual chart in full.

          1. Does anyone know how well (or bad) Bayonetta did in the U.S.? Really hoping it did decent here at least since everywhere else it didn’t do well apparently.

                1. Yea, I think it will get a holiday boost. It’s at a little over 300k right now, more than likely it will be at 500k after Christmas. Who knows, maybe 1m lifetime? It could happen. One good thing is that it’s doing better than wonderful 101 did.

    1. You and critics think it is an amazing game but the UK,Europe and Japan do NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT IT!
B2 was a game NO ONE wanted and then people wonder why it sells like crap all over the world?

      1. Everyone wanted it, they just didn’t want it on wii u and held a grudge against Nintendo for funding a game they wanted that never would have existed if Nintendo didn’t. Guess you missed the huge outrage from sony and microsoft fans when it was announced as a Nintendo exclusive.

        1. No, that’s BS.
If they had really wanted it that badly, they’d have supported the first game better, and they wouldn’t have hesitated to support the second one no matter where it released.
They’re not Bayonetta fans if they skipped it entirely due to not wanting a Wii U.

          1. No, it’s not BS. Those fanboys would rather not play an amazing game than go against their console of choice. They wont buy a Wii U until thier friends have one and they are cool. Don’t you know that game quality doesn’t matter in this day and age? It’s all about hype and grafixxx. Where have you been.

    1. I have it on PC and believe me the game is very underwhelming. It gets boring and very repetitive If you ask me Bethesda is starting to lose their way as far as creating fun quality games are concerned but Wolfenstein: The New Order was pretty decent

  1. we would get better games if idiots stop supporting this garbage give me a good jrpg any day beats this trash all to hell but we dont get more good 1s cuz people are murdurous morons that just want to shoot shit. this is call of dooooodie they are all the same sheeple are just morons

  2. You would think multiplatform titles would count as ONE SLOT, especially if they were well received for more than one console.

Seriously, half the games on the list are multiplats and repeats of the same game no less.(I dare anyone to list how many DIFFERENT titles are actually there) Does it hurt it just to avoid repeating a name on the list and just label it as “Multi” or something similar. Otherwise, it’s just plain redundant and it really saturates the list with padding which could be used to see what are the top INDIVIDUAL games.

    1. I thibk the reason people are saying they have no taste is because the same games are in the top charts pretty much all year round (looking at you FIFA)

    2. I’d say most countries have bad taste these days. And I think that is because there are a lot more younger people starting to game and older people who never used to game who now made gaming mainstream. If you think call of duty should be number 1 every year I don’t think you have very good taste. I am surprised Alien Isolation wasn’t higher, that seemed like a much more interesting game than yet another COD. And I haven’t even mentioned Nintendo games by the way in this, so don’t throw me in the fanboy slot. Madden & Fifa shouldn’t be at the top of the list every year, but sports fans who think they are gamers make it happen. If you only play sports games and an occasional shooter, I don’t consider you a true gamer. You just play what’s considered cool and acceptable socially as well as hyped. And for the love of god minecraft needs to seriously get the fuck off the top 40 altogether already. It may be a decent game, but you’re kidding yourself if you think it’s THAT good. And these comments are directed personally at you by the way, but the general gamer, so when I say some thing like “you’re kidding yourself if you think it’s THAT good” know that I’m not assuming that you think that it is or isn’t a good game. I’m just giving my opinion on the general state of the current video game audience compared to the older audience.

        1. Hahaha I didn’t even know the U.K. did doritos and dew I thought that was us. You watch South Park by the way? They had a great new episode last wednesday focused on Mobile Gaming. It was so good lol I never expected such a small topic to make it to south park.

    3. It’s not becouse there are not any Nintendo games on the list, it’s becouse the most generic, most popular game is always number one in the U.K…. If all somebody ate and drank was Doritos and Mountain Dew, would you say they have a good taste in food? No, you wouldn’t. They just eat and drink whats popular. What most advertised. Someone who does have good taste wants a prime rib steak, with a loaded baked potatoe, some wine to top it off. The U.K. plays and buys whats popular, and whats heavily advertised by the big coorporations. Like Mountain Dew and Doritos. I’m sorry if it offends you, but the U.K. does not have good taste when it comes to video games. In fact, they have very poor taste…

      1. They re European what do you expect. I mean the bastards even drive on the wrong side of the car and road
Europeans however do have England so I’ll give them that

  3. Oh look what time of year it is! It’s terrible game time!

Incidentally, clearly they don’t count Steam sales, because Football Manager 2015 would have definitely outsold each individual version of CoD: AW otherwise.

  4. and fuck!!! all the Uk haters will come and describes how bad is the united kingdom and bla bla bla ble but forget to mention their chart is similar to UK one… let’s the party start!!!!!!

    1. Yeah. Everyone will complain and start generalizing. Acting like everyone from the UK wants to play Fifa. I mean, I am an American and everyone is crazy about NFL and all that nonsense but I can careless about dumb football games. :/

        1. I’m surprised if NBA games sell more than Madden games. Not saying it isn’t true, just that I am legitimately surprised cause NBA is bigger than it’s been in a while, but good ol’ american boys love their football like they’re supposed to, sipping on their cheap watered down bud and miller lights. Yee haw boy!

    2. It has nothing to do with hating the U.K…. I like the U.K. just fine, they just play shitty games, thats a fact. Compare thier top ten to any other top ten list. Sickr posted a link to the U.S. top ten up above, compare that to the U.K. charts. It’s always the same with the U.K.. The charts stay the same year over year.

        1. They do have variety I’ll give you that, but more often than not there are so many good titles that sell so poorly their. It’s so backwards sometimes

  5. lord ghost : king of the federation

seems like people are enjoying their copies of call of dutu advance warfare. damm it what the heck was the treyech wii u team doing this year.

  6. All of the great games that Nintendo makes, and Tomodachi Life is one of the few on the charts? Oh, the UK….(- _ -)

  7. Mario Kart 8 is still beasting it, 6 months on. Who says Mario Kart 8 won’t sell well? I bet those people are feeling really dumb right about now……..

  8. Yea, Nintendo is really sinking in the U.K… It’s sad to see really. Pretty soon Nintendo may give up on that market. Why keep pouring resources into a region and get no return? Nintendo gives you guys all the best collector edition games too. Hopefully after Nintendo ditches the U.K. we can start getting the C.E. games again. Nintendo knows where it’s core lives. Forget the U.K. Nintendo, we still got your back.
