Nintendo of America has surprised fans and announced the official release date for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse for Wii U in the United States. The platformer is due to be released on February 13th. Sadly those in Europe will have to wait a little longer for the game.

This will be the first Kirby game in a while I’ll be passing on. I liked Canvas Curse, but I have no desire to play another game of the same style. Hopefully HAL has another Kirby game in store soon.
I hear ya, Sentinel. Kirby Superstar was the one of the first video games I ever played. And Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland and Kirby 64 are both amazing games, and will always hold a place among my favorite video games. But this one just doesn’t strike me as something that can compare to the classics. Props to them for using the Wii U gamepad in an interesting way, though.
Honestly, while I know what the gamepad can do, I’m not fond of a stylus-style game on Wii U.
If this Kirby game was on 3DS, I’d be willing to give it a shot, but it doesn’t seem worth it as a Wii U game.
