Japanese Charts: 3DS Sells 65k, Wii U Sells 14k

This week’s Media Create sales are now in from Japan. After a few weeks of next to no new titles appearing, we’ve got an influx of games including Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare which makes its debut at the top of the chart on the PlayStation 3 at 79k in sales, with the PlayStation 4 version close behind in third, and between them is newcomer Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 for the PlayStation 3.

Within the top 5 is new 3DS title One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X taking in 35k, but sat in seventh making its debut is the adorable Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker with 28k in units sold. In terms of hardware the 3DS slips slightly bringing in another 65k, while the Wii U has a considerable boost – possibly due to the upcoming holiday season and the newly released Mario Kart 8 bundle for the region – and sits at 14k this week. 1. Nice week for Nintendo, hopefully this is a sign of things to come leading up to Christmas. Although I’m surprised CTTT didn’t sell more.

I wonder if the pathetic prejudice idiots who knock the UK charts will now be knocking the Japanese charts with COD and PES taking four of the top ten places!

    1. Yeah, but 80,000 first week for Call of Duty, compared to millions first week for Yokai Watch 2, Smash Bros for 3DS, Pokemon, Monster Hunter in Japan, that’s quite a difference…

  2. Love how extraordinary Nintendo hardware sales are compared to the Top 20 software sales…

    Quality over, you know…..

  3. Wow. Wii U sales almost quadrupled because of Captain Toad? :) That’s very good. Now wait until Smash Bros. 4…it’s gonna be one hell of a party up in this bitch. XD

BTW, Japan you disappoint me on buying that broken POS Advanced Warfare. Prepare to find yourselves playing a framerate broken rehash. XD

    1. Apparently, the Mario Kart 8 bundle released in Japan last week, so it is most likely from that, with some that picked the bundle up, also picking up Captain Toad Treasure Tracker with it…:D

    2. Also, like I said above, 80,000 for Call of Duty, compared to millions for Yokai Watch 2, Pokemon, Monster Hunter, etc…Doesm’t look to bad now, does it???

  4. Hyrule Warriors couldn’t boost the Wii U sales, Bayonetta 2 couldn’t boost Wii U sales either, but a Mario Kart 8 bundle and Captain Toad did. Japan’s logic 😣It’s confusing

  5. So so figures for Captain Toad, but nicely improved for Wii U. I imagine it wasn’t Captain Toad that sold the Wii U’s but rather the MK8 bundle and a certain other game that may be imminent…

  6. In other news, Xbox One sales are surprising for Japan, still worst selling out of the current generation consoles in Japan though, not really surprising…

  7. Not sure of the COD appeal everywhere… I mean I’ve enjoyed a COD game here and there but let’s be honest…. There are waaaaay better games out that get no respect or media hype.

  8. See COD in first shows how the Japanese have good taste and is diversified, but surely this game won’t be a week in this Top 10 (thankfully), the Japan is in recession, expect the market of games get a little cold for a while, but still the best there is.

  9. Call of duty? are you kiding me? After Uk terrble charts I was kind of looking forward for the Japanese charts (still 50 times better) to show the uk how a real chart looks. But call of duty on there is the only disappointment.

  10. This is good news. You can clearly see sales picking up for the holiday season. I assume they will steadily rise all the way up until January. Hopefully topping off around the 50-60k mark.
