  1. Lol Ubisoft doesn’t deserve to get anything this year. This year is where they went full retard. Especially with Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed Unity.

    1. What’s wrong with Watchdogs? It’s a big game and it actually made it to the Wii U. Not to mention that the hacking part was revoloutionary. Did you not see the E3 trailer? The rain effects were totally Next/Current gen

            1. I do agree with you there. IF the game was not good then the rain would not have saved it ;)

To be honest, I didn’t buy the game for other reasons, but the gameplay itself is good. If only I could say the same about the plot…

          1. That you need to pay separately. and with the price of that DLC you could easily buy a W_D for other systems in bargain bin

          2. “Some” not all, still means “gimped/nerfed” and its all a bait for quick cash and then more blame game on fans. Dont be a fool. Ubisoft is still playing BS games on Nintendo fans.

  2. Best Online….No comment
    Best Family game Mario Kart
    Best Sports/Racing game Mario Kart
    Best Role Playing Bravely Default
Best fighting game Super Smash Bros 3D–…I mean Wii U!

GAME OF THE YEAR- MADDEN 15!!!!!

    1. Best Online (that’s not broken): Mario Kart 8

Best Family Game: Mario Kart 8

Best Racing Game: Mario Kart 8

Best Role Playing Game: Fantasy Life

Best Fighting Game: Super Smash Bros. 4

Game of the Year: Bayonetta 2!!!!

      1. Telltale’s Walking Dead isn’t even a horror game, dumb shit. Why not play the game first before making a fool of yourself?

  3. Well don’t really care about awards, but at a quick glance, Nintendo might win a few of those.

The categories I’d put Nintendo at greater than 50% of winning are best family game, sports/racing game, fighting game, action/adventure game, handheld game. Outside chance for best developer and GOTY as well.

    1. For some reason GOTY games are counted all the way up to November. The December releases always fall into the next year GOTY awards.

  4. The racing category is really a toss up between Forza Horizon 2 and Mario kart 8. Both very different games, but amazing in their own rights.

      1. Really? I honestly thought it was good, or even well above average! If it’s mediocre, do you have anything to show me that’s that much better? I’d be pretty thrilled to see it if it’s that good!

      2. Oh really? Then give me a game with a better soundtrack. Keep your name as Jester because you do have your moments of being funny… like a true jester. Don’t forget that jesters were also known as fools.

  5. Nintendo almost never win anything on these awards but best fighting game? Come on,
Smash bros should take this hands down…period.

    1. With the glowing reviews of Bayonetta 2, and the fact that it made this list of nominees, I think that’ll be victorious in both categories.

  6. I always wondered if game companies ever really took these awards seriously? Even I don’t take them TOO serious. Because it’s just the opinions of a select number of gamers.

  7. It’s the first “award show” that is actually balanced quite well. A mixture of both 3rd parties and Nintendo should win.

  8. How can Blizzard and Ubisoft be on Best Developer of the year? both released games with issues, glitches, and bugs…Not sure why Monolith is on there? What did they release this year? Nintendo or Telletale should win that one.

  9. I have the Destiny bundle and lost my shit when it was nominated for “best online” game. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent game to say the least and a blast to play especially with friends, but it gets shallow and repetitive the more you play it. Its redundancy leaves a bad aftertaste, and on top of that the problems with thousands of users trying to actually play the game (hence the Noah’s arc of error codes) and connect makes it laughable to even be nominated. Solid 7/10 in my book.

  10. Does anyone else find it ironic that there is a category for Best Remake? That tells me that even the gaming industry knows how rehash-y they are. Anyways, why isn’t Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on there? We know that Ghosts was a rehash based on the cutscene straight ripped from an earlier game.

  11. Best Online Experience:

    > (I hate em all)

    Best Remaster:
    > Pokémon: Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
    > or
    > Halo: The Master Chief Collection
    > (these are the only listed games with worthwile updates)

    Games For Change

    My picks, come at me.

  12. Nice balance compared to last year’s Video Game Awards. “It’s not VGA! It’s The Game Awards!” lol GA=VGA! One less initial for the abbreviation doesn’t mean a damn thing!

    1. Sadly, I don’t see Bravely Default winning. There were too many people bitching about the second half of the game that were ignoring the huge orgy of side story missions.
