UK Charts: Grand Theft Auto V Nabs Top Spot, Tomodachi Life Remains In Top 30

This week’s UK games charts are now in courtesy of GFK Chart-Track. Launched on November 18 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Grand Theft Auto V rides to the top of the chart, while Ubisoft’s Far Cry 4 takes numbers 3 and 4, and EA’s Dragon Age: Inquisition rounds out the top 5 this week.

With the individual charts dominated by multi-platform titles, some Nintendo first-party titles get lost among the fray. However, Tomodachi Life holds fast and remains at 24 – mostly due to the meaty TV advertising the title has been receiving as of late. On the other hand, Super Smash Bros for 3DS slips down from 30 to 38. Yet it’s Sonic Boom that fails to even chart after its release in the UK last week with Rise of Lyric for Wii U and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal nowhere to be seen.

Though it’s a poor show for Nintendo games this week, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, along with Super Smash Bros for Wii U both release on November 28, so next week’s charts should prove interesting. You can find the UK top 40 individual charts in full below.

    1. Well people like to be social and play social games. Maybe you should try to be damn social yourself. You should try it some time commander robo ass. It’s a pretty damn neat experience.

      1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

I’ve tried it several times before, it only ends up humans betraying me for their own selfish needs and egos…

The only thing left for them is to die out as soon as possible for their betrayal and misstreatment of this pathetic planet…

        1. That last comment was me. And just try fucking again dude. Pretty sure there’s more robo wonna be’s out there who would be good fucking buddies with you.

            1. Wouldn’t you be-….. Nvm there’s no point in trying to explain. Well I hope your dream comes true commander robo ass. Have high fucking hopes dude.

          1. to be honest If the northern region of europe are xbox or PS fans then it’s a clear evidence that Nintendo doing a very bad job in Europe. Maybe you can help on that one, does the chart in Sweden look like the same in UK?

From what I can gather each time I go to sweden (Boras/Falkoping) Nintendo is no where to be see.

So I would not be surprise but one must ask if Uk it’s just a representation of Europe and the result of poor job of Nintendo.

            1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

They are the same as in UK and US combined…

Our empire and loyalists always make events here but these Xbots are so Xbot Homeworld loyal that even if you gave them free Nintendo consoles, they still would’t care because they just hate Nintendo or think it’s only for children…

Some of my classmates even went as far as tellng me that only a cinematic is enough reason for them to buy Xboxes or Playstations…

              1. OK it was like I thought but do you think Nintendo doing a good job in your country? My answer is no and the evidence you provided prove I am right. Maybe Nintendo should release game with more cinematics if that what they want in your country. But Nintendo’s mistake in Europe is that they do not even look and understanding this market. Europe is not just one counrty but 45+ countries. They can be bother to look at the bigger picture and propse decent offers/products. Personally I would love to have 1h chat with Nintendo UK and not just criticise but ask question and throw some suggestions.

    1. Yes! I’ve played it for a while now and it’s awesomely fun. The fighting never gets boring, it’s REALLY open world, and the traveling in this game compliments the large canvas of this world, being really easy to go anywhere. I can’t explain everything in this game, but I highly reccomend getting it. You won’t regret it :)

    1. I would say no really, if nintendo Europe was doing a decent job, then UK, Like sweden or germany would not be Sony and MS. I repeat it again and again Europe and Australia for Nintendo is an after thought. Nintendo’s business is just for Japan and US hence why they do not rule Europe. If we have the same care as US or Japan that will be another story.

      1. You don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s crazy fun on Xbox One/PS4, because Rockstar figured out how to perfect a remaster. The visuals and draw distances are far better, and they added a HUGE amount of original content into the game too. It’s a worthwhile purchase imo even if you already played the original. But I guess you never played it if you were so ignorant to say it, so why bother explaining…

  1. good to see a few gems such as dragon age in there and farcry seems like a fun game aaaand gta is a good game to get if you have not played it already…has big improvements on this gen as well.

    1. I seriously doubt it. The U.K. just simply don’t play Nintendo games. I’ve picked on the U.K. more times than I can count for this. But after thinking about it, it’s not all thier fault. Nintendo holds some blame here. Why does Nintendo not have any influence in this region?

I looked at console sales numbers, and it aint looking good for Nintendo. The week before last the Xbox and Ps4 both sold around 500k worldwide. Last week they sold the same. They sold one million consoles each in two weeks. Holiday sales are right on target for both of those consoles. But not Nintendo. Nintendo console sales have not even hit 100k a week yet. They have barely moved from September numbers. It appears like nobody is buying the Wii U. Maybe they were waiting for Smash, and sales will pick up this week, but to not have sales pick up this late in November is not a good sign. Anyone that knows me here knows i’m usually bias towards Nintendo, so believe me when I say something is seriously wrong here. It could easily be something as simple as people waiting on the Amibos and Smash bundles to release. I hope this is the case. Sorry for the speech.

  2. Sonic Boom flopping in UK = games on course for worst-selling 3D titles in the series in the West due to numerous glitches and bugs

  3. Lmao. It’s hilarious how some people are getting butthurt over GTA V getting a 10 and Smash Bros getting a 9.8 on IGN.

    1. It’s common sense to buy a game on your newer console instead of your old one, if it’s available on both. Why would I buy a game on my older console if it’s better on the new one ?
Multiplats are a big reason for some people to switch to new gen consoles, so they can play games on a higher quality level, which absolutely understandable.
Maybe it’s you who’s retarded for making such a unintelligent comment.

        1. Still smoother and higher quality than on last gen consoles. So, that argument is out of place.
Your comment still sounds as unintelligent as before, sorry.

      1. It’s funny how it’s not ok to buy a last generation game on a newer console, but it’s perfectly ok to buy a game over a decade old for the 3rd or 4th time on your new console. Nintendo fanboy logic. :P

    1. I think Nintendo will survive just fine too. But they will not sell more than 20 million Wii U’s. Thier next console must be the Fusion and merge the handheld with console.

  4. Idiots buying the same game of a generation ago, this market is stinky lol

You shouldn’t post market figures of the US/UK, are irrelevant especially from software (nowadays), alienated and stupid taste.
