Looks like Square Enix is still investing in console titles as the publisher and developer has revealed that they have a brand new RPG title in the works for consoles that isn’t a remake. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda announced in the latest issue of Famitsu that the game will be revealed next month in December. The company also has Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 in development so it will be interesting to see which platforms it will be for. Here’s what Matsuda had to say about the mysterious title.
“Actually, right now, we’re working on a new RPG specifically for consoles and it isn’t a remake. We’ll start talking about it more in December and go from there.”

How does it lose all credibility for being a long-lasting franchise ? Every game has its own story, except for spin-offs. It’s not like they’ve been carrying on the same story, in the same world, with the same characters in every entry of the series. Do you get tired of TLoZ too, considering there are a bunch of games ? Or Mario ?
Even though it’s true that the most recent games weren’t outstandingly good, Final Fantasy still is a quality series, especially because of its earlier fantastic entries. And judging by what we’ve seen and heard about Final Fantasy XV so far, it’s going to be damn good.
Well, that’s what I personally think, at least. Of course you’re free to have your own opinion about it, I’m just saying your reasoning behind it doesn’t make much sense to me.
Because every game after VII, is trying to be successful like VII, but they are trying to hard. Maybe you can’t see it, but I for one had felt ”try too hard to be like VII”. And I don’t mean like using the same story or whatever, even the XV looks like its going to be a Try Hard VII. Don’t even bother to argue with me about my reasoning of being unable to make sense, because I don’t find your’s to be much of a sense maker either. I have said what I wanted to say so you leave it at that and we can agree to disagree because its as if we are speaking two different languages.

DragonQuestXI for Ps4 i assume, would love it to be multiplat between Ps4 and One, but given how DQ games have used to be exclusives for best selling console i say DQXI for Ps4 is a safe guess.
I wouldnt hope anything for WiiU though, now i like the system but 3rd parties havent done well on that thing so its just the way it goes.
I wouldn’t mind a new Tactics game from them. At least an RPG that actually looks like it’s set in a fantasy world would be nice. In any case it better not be underwhelming. I expect grande things with Square’s potential.
I’m hoping that Square are also moving out of the smart phone market now, we need love too y’know?
If Nintendo was smart, (which they are btw) they would go after this game, whatever it is. There are a lot of hungry rpg fans, and it would be wise for Nintendo to try and snag this game. Pay Square some monies or whatever needs to be done. These third parties will not put thier games on the Wii U without some sort of motivation from Nintendo.

if they can’t put a follow up of tactics genre but from the type of PS1 (not the GBA or DS one) that will be fantastic.Hopefully the game won’t have Final Fantasy attached to it

Square Enix doesn’t have the balls to release an RPG that’s not simply milking an existing franchise anymore.
I wouldn’t mind a sequel to Infinite Undiscovery. It’s one of their better less popular games. Not going to hold my breath though…
