This week’s individual UK charts are now in courtesy of GFK Chart-Track. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS have got off to a flying start and make their debut in third and fourth positions, respectively. It’s also the franchise’s best UK launch to date according to Chart-Track, improving on X and Y’s sales by 17 per cent. Though the two remakes have held off meaty competition from a number of multi-platform titles, Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4 slips to second and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the Xbox 360 nabs the top spot on the back of Black Friday sales this weekend.
While Pokemon titles have blasted through the rankings, Super Smash Bros for Wii U arrives in at number 14, despite its considerably high user and critic scores. Launching against such Black Friday Xbox One bundle deals has given it a small step back, but we’ll have to wait and see if it can climb any further in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Below you’ll find the individual UK top 40 games chart in full.

UK
YOU CRAZY FOR POKEMON
Really poor performance from Smash Bros. Wii U but hardly surprising considering Nintendo didn’t spend any money promoting it.
And the fact that UK hates Nintendo regardless of how good or bad Nintendo is.
ACNL was on the UK top ten for months. So nope, try again
Home console wise you fool. Of course Nintendo handhelds are top notch since the Gameboy.
“And Mario Kart 8 was on the Charts for 6 months as well…”?
And Mario Kart 8 was on the Charts for 6 months as well…
…
Gr9 b9 m9
Fail…
one Game – SSB – will not save WiiU – unfortunately.
Omg the wiiu didn’t sell 100 million in 2yrs its a Flop guys.
Remember the UK is possibly the most anti-Nintendo market there is.
And Smash beat LBP3 despite there being a lot less Wii U’s than PS4s
It’s not like they’re racist towards Nintendo. Nintendo have slowly and steadily caused a lot of their own problems. Like there’s 0 advertising of Wii U on TV. XBOX 1 and PS4 are permanently on TV. I say this as a fan of Nintendo but they need a swift kick in the bollocks.
Thats because lbp3 is a pile of dogshit.
360 failed because it didn’t out sell the wii but the wiis been dead since 2011 and 360s are still out selling xb1s lol xb1 flopped
360 didn’t even outsell the PS3 at the end.
UK still fucking disgusts me with these charts…
Oh no! a game that’s been out for 3 days hasen’t outsold a game that’s been out for a month! That’s it! BOMB THE UK, LEAVE NO SURVIVORS!
Then explain MK8’s launch sales
This is based on one week’s sales fucktard
Smash Bros has been out in the UK for 3 days!
That’s not an excuse, Pokemon released at the same time and managed to place in the top 5. So, obviously the time was not the biggest obstacle. Face it, not many people in the region wanted the game, if they did then the sales would have indicated such even in the short time span between release and the time data was gathered.
Lot of uk stores aren’t really selling wii u stuff and a rumor thats been going around that they had short supplies do to the sudden release date change
Those are some pretty great games. UK has good taste.
Stop trolling human boy, it’s not recommended for your future healthcare…
*FACEPALM* is he trolling?. oh, no, no! he is just an attention whore!
LMAO Nintendo first party game are not everything, i need third parties to survive.
Silence, my logic is undeniable…
You fail at trolling.
come on grape, we know that you are trying to troll but you always fail, juest give up.
You failed again.
LMAO he’s right, you failed.
BTW, third parties rule. why do we need first parties when we can have the same third party game on pc, ps4 and xbox one?
Uncharted, Halo, Bloodborne, God Of War, Let It Die, Ratchet and Clank, The Order, Infamous: First Light, Scalebound, Quantum Break, Fable Legends, Crackdown 3…
If cod is at the top of your list then i would consider that no taste.
UK/US software market is irrelevant.
There’s always an excuse for everything^
Is irrelevant because have no quality games, just the trash of industry makes good, simple.
COD AW is quality according to Metacritic, GTA V is quality according to Metacritic, DA Inquisition is quality according to Metacritic… Your point?
Well guys, seems like Smash didn’t save Wii U! Any reasons left? What, Devil Third’s gonna save it?
Zelda in 2015?
Zelda isn’t doesn’t have any recent history of being a system seller…
DAT GRAMMAR M8

lol the “Mighty shuhei yoshida” doesn’t know how to write.
Aww, trying to cover up Zelda’s eventual failure with English
I facepalm at people that say that 1 game will save the Wii U. I will always stand by saying that multiple games will save the Wii U, with each game helping to sell some consoles at the start of it’s lifecycle…
UK: Oh yes, I will buy a Wii U when it has enough games I want on it…
*Later* OMG, COD AW FOR 360? BUYBUYBUY$$$OIOU3845U45!!!
Wii U has SM3DW, MK8, NSMBU, Smash Bros, Pikmin 3, W101, Bayonetta 2, Rayman Legends, WWHD, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, LEGO City Undercover, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker going by that logic. So explain why it isn’t selling, ESPECIALLY when 90% of the fanboys here were talking up Smash to be this megahit system seller
I am doubting devil’s turd will move maby units!
Boring UK Market….. they only care about shooters and football (soccer)
Football is in 12th position, maybe do some research before spouting bullshit
This chart kinda says lets buy GTA V its a totally a different game, lets buy unity the most unbroken game ever….SPORTS AND GUNS( though Far cry is bit more interesting then Cod). I’m happy pokemon did well, but Smash bros going this low kinda does surprise me bit, in way i’m kinda getting tried of sales in general. All they do is piss off people , or act like they benefit from ( unless ur a news site) it.
GTA V has a first person mode, and the top sports game is in 12th position
This is Europe so it’s no surprise to me that ssb Wii U isn’t even in the top 10.
Look at vgchartz numbers from five years ago. Besides Pokemon the exact same games are in the UK top ten. UK is officially a casual market.
If Nintendo actually bothered to invest in UK things would’ve been significantly different.

Both Pokemon and Smash Bros. released on the exact same day.
Pokemon just did a better job at “catching attention” between the two.
A lot of you also seem to forget that Smash Bros was also released on the 3DS which the majority of people already owned.
“A lot of you also seem to forget that Smash Bros was also released on the 3DS which the majority of people already owned.”
Which was a huge mistake on Nintendo’s part
I wholeheartedly agree.
Smash Bros. should have stayed home console exclusive.
Now the whole comment section is “I knew it” and “They messed up”, but when I brought up those points months ago all you people ot your fucking panties in a twist, well, here you go: I TOLD YOU SO.
This makes me sad, but in a twisted way, it also makes me happy. Part of me actually wants Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U to fail to sell tons of copies.
