Leading third-party manufacturer of video game accessories PDP has announced a launch window for the four new Wired Fight Pads for Wii U. As previously reported, Nintendo characters such as Link, Samus, Wario, and Donkey Kong will join the original three characters – Mario, Yoshi, and Princess Peach with Luigi due to arrive soon – in early 2015. Though no specific date has been set, the second wave of wired fight pads, inspired by the GameCube controller shape, will be priced at $24.99.
Licensed by Nintendo, the Wired Fight Pad can be used with both the Wii and Wii U consoles, which needs to be plugged into the Wii Remote external extension connector for use. The GameCube-styled pad can also be used for all Wii and Wii U games that support the Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro, along with some Virtual Console games. Check out the gallery below to get a closer look at Link, Samus, Wario and Donkey Kong’s designs.
I might get the Samus one…
None of those goes with the color of my wii u, black wii u, black motion controller, black third party adapter for a single game cube controler(this are awesome) and a black gamecube controller. Guess ill have to Wait for a mr. Game and Watch model :D
Don’t, they’re terrible. Go to a store and try them out. Weird feel and grip, buttons aren’t that responsive (have to push down harder) especially triggers. Maybe good for show but not for use.
Is that so? Thanks for the warning bro! :o
I see…
These are replicas of some cheaply made gc controllers made a few years back. Same model and everything. Dont recommend it.
This is how we can all tell you’ve ot been a gamer for a week.
Everyone should know third party accessories blow ass.
Wii U saved. Lmao
Oh my… Nintendo really hates my bank account :(
Oh no these 5 games a year and a couple controllers. How poor are you ?
Was this mean and trolling comment necessary? >_<
Amiibo, The 5 games a year, Christmas pressies for my wife, my family, paying a mortgage, buying games for my ps4, for my 3ds… yeah you could say i’m feeling the pinch a little bit.
These controllers aint for you. Im sure u can find used gamecube controllers online or at pawn shops.
^guy named Boner makes a comment
^acts like a dick
^nothing to see here.
Nintendo is really milking they’re products now, first the 3DS with all the different themes now the controllers
It’s not like this is new or something…
It says right in the title that these are made by a third party company and not Nintendo. Learn to read.
These are so fucking ugly. I’ll take that all white one instead
If you liked playing with the wiis pro controller you’ll love this…
I got a yoshi controller and it works great for me idk why people must come here and hate everything Nintendo try to do for their fans buy putting out stuff from their IP’s for the fans enjoyment the trolling got to stop it’s so childish
I agree with you 100%.
I wasnt lucky enough to get my hands on the gamecube adapter, then i saw the Yoshi controller and bought it immediately. And it is by far the best controller option i currently have. Yea it feels like cheap plastic, but i personally dont care as long as it gets the job done.
I honestly don’t like the shape too much.. The first party controllers look so much more comfortable.
Why did it have to be third party? All my third party controllers are always cheap feeling, never last, and eventualy break…will this be the same.
Unlike The comment above here, I have 2 of these, decided to check them out, I like them and use them, they almost feel like a GameCube controller but not quite, I use them a lot because I don’t like wires and one of my wavebirds have a life of its own and I’m not risking the other with this controller killing game xD
Cons:
it’s just not a GameCube controller
Pros:
Worlds fine for solid gameplay
technically is wireless (at least no wired all over the place)
It’s a wii classic controller with a GameCube skin, meaning you can play Xenoblade, Pandora’s Tower, last Story and others with a “GameCube controller” and it’s wonderful for that, same for any WiiU game compatible with a wii classic controller.
Check it out if you want, I Say it’s worth the price
I’m sorry but these look like reject 3rd party GC controllers I use to see back in the day and never bother to even think about wasting money on. Even though this is certified by Nintendo themselves, this is just pushing it.
I really don’t care if they look cheap, it’s less than the hassle of trying to hunt down an adapter and a first party controller, and it’s less wires. When does the Luigi one come out? I’d get the Link one because they’re both the green I love oh so much but those brown buttons are a turn off.
Reblogged this on The Daily Planet.
In these days of wireless technology, why are none of these special controllers ever wireless? The wavebird is my favorite Gamecube controller. Can anyone guess why?
With that said, I’m tempted to buy this Link controller.
the look of the controller looks ugly (the design) but still looks cools
im tempted to buy the link and samus but its gonna cost me an arm and a leg so im good with the gcn controllers (2) i’ve had for years and still in working condition, no wear-and-tear (im actually surprised even though i have taken great care of them).
Just fyi for people on the fence. I grabbed one of these (peach) because GC adapters were sold out. Totally not like the official GC controllers but was alot easier to use than the WiiU Pro controller. Made unlocking stuff in Smash tons easier. Pro Controller feels like playing Smash on 3DS but with a better analog stick btw, so if your comfortable with 3DS ver then that might be a better choice. I just needed it as close to GC as possible but that’s just me.
Anyone else think the bright orange one doesn’t really fit the theme of Metroid? I get that it’s supposed to fit the color of the character, but when I think of Metroid, I think of dark blues and purples, not bright orange. All the other ones fit both the character and the game well.
do these work with game cube games that are played on the wii?
