There’s just certain games that makes it hard to believe that nobody ever played. Like this, Zelda and various Mario games etc. I can’t help but feel like some people live under a rock. Especially girls. MOST girls anyway.
Things like this happen because of over protective parents…let me explain. Nintendo is sadly not the dominant console anymore :( xbone and playstation are because they have adult content that kids think is “cool” . SO when kids are young parents buy them a nintendo because its more kid friendly but most of the games we love, zelda, metroid, …ect are rated teen so parents dont buy them. Then buy the time the kids are in there parents minds old enough to play T games they want to move up to the non nintendo consoles because there tool friends will make fun of them for nintendo and say C.O.D and GTA are the “cool” games. So they never have a chance to fall in love with the titles we all did on nintendo back when parents realized that cartoon blood doesnt turn us into mansons or dahmers. So we get dumber and dumber gamers that only play the above mentioned and sports games. Its stupid sheltering parents that are making these so blame them not the ones that dont know anybetter cause there bombarded with frases of your to young and what are your frienda playing
Wow, that actually makes sense. I’m glad that I grew up before the ESRB existed. My parents never worried about whether a game I wanted was inappropriate for me. My mom didn’t like the fact that games like Mortal Kombat was so violent. But she trusted me to play it. Although I was like 15 at that time. I guess I should be thankful that I had the opportunity to play all of the great games that started so many wonderful series’.

I agree. Parents buy their kids Nintendo games when they are young, and kids LOVE those games. But when they get a little older, (teens) Nintendo games aren’t “cool” anymore because they don’t have guns, blood/Gore, and tons of violence. Today’s kids spend hundreds of hours playing mindless online first person shooters. I don’t understand the appeal of games like COD, Halo, etc. It’s the same thing, OVER AND OVER, just on different maps. It’s even boring to watch. I had a friend who got an Xbox 360 back in 2009 and would come home from school and play COD until 1am. EVERY DAY! He didn’t interact with family or friends, didn’t study, didn’t do anything else! just played this game online with his headphones in, sitting on the couch by himself. This lasted for months until his parents finally got rid of his Xbox. It was rotting his brain! I’m sure lots of kids and teens have also been a victim of this. They become obsessed with these FPS games. Are they even fun? I don’t understand them. Nintendo games have always been great to play alone or with friends, and they’re always fun, original, and exciting. My ultimate favorites are the ones that blend platforming, puzzles, and action. Zelda: ALBW and Skyward Sword are probably my all time favorites. The puzzles in those games are so fun and tricky, but not too challenging. and they give you just the right amount of subtle hints to help you solve them. Captain Toad looks really good for this same reason, and I have yet to try it. Has anyone bought it and would recommend it?
I understand why some kids like the COD games, and in most cases it’s becouse they do not know, or have access to better quality games. Or they are just copying thier friends.
If these same kids grew up with doom, and quake like I did, they would absolutely hate todays fps’s..
I find it hard to believe and frankly sad that a whole generation of kids are growing up without Nintendo.
Opinion, I grew up with Doom, Quake, wolfenstein, 007, Turok, Cod & Metal of Honor. I can still appreciate CoD and Battlefield games to this day. I don’t buy them as often because I don’t feel the yearly releases justify the price but they are still great games. I understand the hate they get for the franchise getting milked but I Don’t understand why the games get hate themselvs when the mechanics are always solid (online aside)
Some people just play games to unwind and have fun. I find it baffling with how many people think that without Nintendo games you can’t fun either or that these games require no skill but yet there’s a whole competitive scene for it that makes a living out of these “brainless” shooters.
