It’s that time of the month folks as we finally have concrete sales figures for the United States for the month of November courtesy of the NPD Group. The Xbox One was the best-selling video game console in both the United States and the UK. With regards to software Super Smash Bros arrived at number three in the US and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire was at five and Pokemon Omega Ruby was placed at number seven. 1. who the fuck buys a remake of a game that came out last year (GTA V) when you could get an all new Smash (a series that has only had 4 games over the course of 15 years)?

    1. It’s not a remake. It’s a port. And who buys it? People who haven’t played it before and people that want to try the new versions. There is nothing wrong with buying a game that you really like again.

    2. Sadly, too many people who have $ to burn & are obessed w/ graphics. I can understand if people wanna play a game again if they can no longer do so [lack of reverse compatibility & no longer have the game-specific platform or the game itself].

But yeah, unless there’s significantly new content [like Chrono Trigger DS or FF IV DS], I don’t understand why someone would double-dip. Even for portability’s sake [or vice versa; a handheld game is a handheld game/a console game os a console game], 1 purchase is usually more than enough. The $ would be better spent on new games or better yet, more useful things [like bills or a novel].

    3. Yeah, specially when the original version can be found for half the price. Exactely the same game, just withouth the first person view.

    4. Actually, this remaster is legit because Rockstar did indeed practically rebuilt the entire game for FPS mode like interior car details and also added a lot more in game content compare to the other ports last year. GTA5 on PC/PS4/etc. outclassed not only it older self but all of the other BS “remaster” games like Last of Us or Tomb Raider which all they did was improve solution and Framerate SLIGHTLY. That’s it. GTA5 literally added tons more and changed itself in a big way like with the FPS mode, it’s almost a completely different game.

  2. The only reason cod is 1 is because of install base ~ cattle basically. The fact that Smash is #3 without being multi system is FANTASTIC!

      1. All you have to do is look at the sales figures. Smash outsold 4 multiplat titles. Sports games always sell tons of units in the US, Assassin’s Creed is Ubisoft’s Call of Duty, and Far Cry 4 is a rather well liked multiplat title. The fact Smash out sold those titles speaks for itself considering the other games reach out to larger install bases. The only one that doesn’t surprise me is it outselling Halo given all the issues that game has had with Multiplayer.

      2. He’s talking about the idiots (possibly you) doubting Smash Bros. won’t do anything significant for Wii U sales which it did. He’s making fun of those fools and not the system or game. Get it right.

  3. The Only Games other The Master Chief Collection that aren’t multi-platform are Nintendo games. Nintendo never ceases to amaze me on how well that stuff sells without being multi-platform. If they were multi they’d be top selling for so many games. (Though I never want to see them go Multi- Platform)

  4. Who and the hell bought AC Unity? That broken ass game got in the top ten list? What a joke… At least Rouge bombed..

I hate to see any video game flat out fail, but Ubisoft needs to learn a lesson. You cannot release a broken game and expect it to sale…. Oh wait, yes you can!

  5. Wow! Nice to see!! Nintendo’s doing well here. Obviously GTAV and the new CoD will sell better, because they are multiplatform and are on consoles that have higher install bases, plus GTAV is INSANELY popular and I heard the new CoD is the best one yet.

  6. Wow only 3 exclusives made it to the top 10? It’s pathetic the one game that makes the Xbox One unique from PS4 in last place. You pay all that money for an Xbox One just to get the same experience on other platforms. Sad I know.

    1. Sir Isaac Newton of Judah

PS4 and WiiU shall be amazing next year, I am a Nintendo player, but the PS4 is looking great as well.

      F=ma.

  7. Pokemon Alpha/Omega should be counted as a single game, as they are exactely the same game just with a few different pokemon

  8. The fact that Smash Bros is in the top 5 is great. Well it doesn’t have to be first on the charts to be successful, 3rd place is an extremely respectable position…

  9. COD and EA sports titles – Clearly the Americans have little taste in gaming in seems. And AC Unity shows they aren’t very bright either.

  10. Seriously? Call of fucking Duty? As if people don’t learn their fucking from how shitty Ghosts is and that they really need to stop supporting the “annual release” trend because they keep burning their wallets for the same shit every damn year.

  11. Pretty strange that both 3DS and Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros. share a spot, and Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire have 2 different places on the list.

  12. The fact that Call of Duty beat any of those games makes me die a little. Everything else fits, I guess. The fact that sports games still that well also amazes me.

  13. Pingback: Call of Duty : Warfare Advance, meilleure vente de jeux vidéo aux États-Unis en Novembre

  14. Fail on the part with having Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire as separate games since they really aren’t. I’d put Smash for Wii U & Smash for 3DS as two separate slots faster than I would Pokemon.
