Marvelous Europe and XSEED games today announce that the highly anticipated simulation RPG, Rune Factory 4 , is available to download in Europe and Australia on the Nintendo 3DS system. It can be purchased exclusively on the Nintendo eShop for £24.99/€29.99 and $49.95AUD respectively.
Rune Factory 4 is the latest installment in the critically acclaimed Bokujo Monogatari spin-off series, which revolves around the same addictive life simulation and farming activities that its father franchise, now known as STORY OF SEASONS, is famous for. The Rune Factory series, however, also incorporates classic action-JRPG elements into the mix, all framed in a stunning fantasy setting. Taking place in the Kingdom of Norad, players must fill the shoes of a Prince or Princess and aid the people of a small, picturesque town named Selphia in achieving lasting peace and prosperity.
Created by acclaimed series producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto, Rune Factory 4 is by far the most ambitious title in this storied series. Boasting countless items, crops, weapons and other pieces of equipment to find and grow, as well as a substantial story with richly developed characters, innumerable hours of enjoyment await within the humble confines of this download. Players can farm and find romance among the town’s singles and also explore the wilderness and surrounding dungeons to defeat or tame monsters. I really, really want this game. But €30 for an old game is too much, if they follow the ATLUS example and put it out for €20 (out of shame for the huge delay) I won’t be able to resist buying it.
Though I would buy it for up to €40 if it was a physical release.
It came out one year ago in the US, that’s not very old. Then again you could be 10 years old. lol
Of course I consider a one year old game old enough to not be tagged with high prices.
What is Europe? The place were games come to die? Why couldn’t we experience the game simultaneously with the rest of the world?
It enrages me when a game is available here one full year later than the rest of the world on a console that is region locked.
It enraged me in the 90s, it enrages me also today.
SMT4 came one year later in EU and had the corresponding discount applied in the digital version.
Heck, there isn’t even a physical version to buy, videogame companies don’t give a fuck about Europe and that is sad.

Looks interesting, they should mash the Secret of Mana series with this. Seeing as how I dont think Secret of Mana will get a new game, which is a shame, it would be super fun.
