The poorly received 2006 racing game Sonic Riders was actually in development for the beloved Game Boy Advance. However, development on the game was cancelled as Sega Japan saw the game in action and requested that the team make it more 3D. The team refused as it would have required a complete overhaul of the game’s engine, so the game never came into fruition.
Thanks, Jerry B

We’ve shown quite bit of footage of those Amiibos. Thank you for the email though and I’m super glad you had a good day at the Nintendo World Store :-)
Honestly, all Sonic does these days is try to pull the Wii U down with him, since SEGA is failing and they probably still have a grudge about Nintendo making them quit the console competition. We have to let go of Sonic’s fingers handing onto the Wii U, both Sonic and that big metal ball chained to his leg.
Well when they see Sonic fail no matter what system it’s on, it’s solely Sega that’s dragging itself even lower, not Nintendo, Sony or even Apple on iOS.
“Poorly received”? I don’t know what you’re talking about. This game was and still is awesome to me.
Honestly I haven’t played it, but I remember the reviews around launch weren’t the best I’ve ever seen. Just checked Metacritic and it’s on 56. If you enjoyed the game that’s all that matters :-)
I loved sonic riders, i played it again when i was 17 just to see if i only loved it because of nostalgia but nope, fun game
Sicker I will see if there’s any news that i will come up with tomorrow.
The game sucked anyway
Eh not so much. It was still fun to play though.
Have you tried Free Riders? It’s further evidence that not only Sega can’t get their shit done right but Kinect fucking sucks royal balls from the start.
I was literally put on fucking meds because of this game. It was so damn hard to beat.
I was stuck on Babylon Garden for weeks. Then I realized I still had to complete the Babylon Story…
Sonic hasnt been the same since his GC hit. I still have Chao data on memory cards. What wonderful times.
I thought Sonic Riders was pretty fun once you get the hang of it. It has a steep learning curve, though, so it’s tough to play with friends.
As much as I enjoyed the original, Zero Gravity seemed to handle the mechanics a little better.
I always here people say the original was better because the second seemed too easy from the first.
glad i got sonic heroes instead of this game back in 06-07.
I can’t imagine how it would be on gba, but I am glad it wasn’t considering I enjoyed playing it on my gamecube.
