Sonic Riders Was Once Planned For The Game Boy Advance

Sonic-Riders-GBA-Portfolio

The poorly received 2006 racing game Sonic Riders was actually in development for the beloved Game Boy Advance. However, development on the game was cancelled as Sega Japan saw the game in action and requested that the team make it more 3D. The team refused as it would have required a complete overhaul of the game’s engine, so the game never came into fruition.

Thanks, Jerry B

    1. We’ve shown quite bit of footage of those Amiibos. Thank you for the email though and I’m super glad you had a good day at the Nintendo World Store :-)

  1. Honestly, all Sonic does these days is try to pull the Wii U down with him, since SEGA is failing and they probably still have a grudge about Nintendo making them quit the console competition. We have to let go of Sonic’s fingers handing onto the Wii U, both Sonic and that big metal ball chained to his leg.

    1. Honestly I haven’t played it, but I remember the reviews around launch weren’t the best I’ve ever seen. Just checked Metacritic and it’s on 56. If you enjoyed the game that’s all that matters :-)

      1. I loved sonic riders, i played it again when i was 17 just to see if i only loved it because of nostalgia but nope, fun game
