The latest edition of UK publication EDGE magazine has arrived with subscribers and it appears to be a bumper issue. The magazine awarded Super Smash Bros Wii U a 8, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker a 7, and gave Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire an 8. The respected publication also listed the games which they thought deserved Game of the Year 2014. You can check them out, below.

Yea, Ubisoft has chosen quantity over quality unfortunately. That never works out in the gamers favor. The division will have some glaring flaw, like the graphics will be exaggerated, or it will be unplayable at launch, or on disk dlc, or, or, or, or… Name your pick. Something will be wrong with it thats for sure.. Ubisoft has gone down hill.
Nothing will please me more than to watch Ubishit fail and fall on its own ass.

The deserted Rayman that Ubisoft single handedly destroy by stupidly delaying from Wii U launch just to get owned 10:1 by GTA5 in the same week or the same old FarCry (COD clone) with the same recycled storyline of being held by a group of psychotic tyrants in the wilderness and having to fight them off with the same weapons.
Yeah, I’m sure missing out on those “games” by another EA-turned jackass studio will break my gaming logics and make my gaming life dull without them…NOT.

Good for Bayonetta and Platinum. It’s too bad it suffered the Platinum curse and didn’t sell well though.
Side Note: Another Nintendo GOTY award. I thought the general consensus was that Edge (along with other media outlets) hated Nintendo.
So why didn’t it win at the VGAs then if a large chunk of the media didn’t hate Nintendo? And why did Gamesradar vote Destiny as the GOTY and not Bayonetta 2 or Smash Bros?
Side Note: Mario Kart 8 was voted by Gamespot as the best Wii U game not the GOTY if that’s the other game you’re trying to refer to
Even though a Nintendo game didn’t win GOTY on The Game Awards, Nintendo was the highlight of the show, even with Fils-Aime there. Going by your logic, the media hates any company that isn’t EA/Bioware since they were the one to get the GOTY with Dragon Age. Bayonetta 2 was nominated.
As for your side note, no I wasn’t speaking of Mario Kart; Just the fact that Nintendo games have won GOTY over the past few years from different outlets. Plus, their games generally get high acclaim, even if they don’t win a GOTY award.
I still plan on buying it. Want to wrap up hyrule warriors first, but people like me waiting to buy it won’t make a huge diff
I got it but haven’t played it. I’m honestly in no rush. I didn’t exactly like the first Bayonetta and the demo for Bayonetta 2 didn’t do much for me. I’ll play eventually though.

Every week there are comments on this site about how each gaming media outlet hates Nintendo, there’s some conspiracy where they all want Nintendo to fail, etc. In fact, just read up a few posts and you’ll see.
And those comments are accurate but not only the gaming media but 3rd party developers as well. Just look at the Ubisoft and EA 180s on how they had strong support for the Wii U then suddenly they pull back. They do want Nintendo fail, the proof is in the pudding
Not only they blindly hate Nintendo but they also know for a goddamn fact that the fans dont buy crappy games and can see shitty games coming from lightyears away which in this case, most of the 3rd rate party garbage is more of the same: Buggy, incomplete, half assed games on rinse/repeat for quick buck profit from morons.

Nintendo and Platinum Games truly deserve that title for Game of the Year. Bayonetta 2 is truly one of the BEST Wii U titles this year. Combine the original formula with better game play mechanics, hidden surprises, and 2-player online Tag Climax with unlimited replay value and the best overall fun factor and they’ve created the BEST sequel ever made. As a proud owner of both Bayonetta 2 and the enhanced HD original, I’m extremely proud of Hashimoto, Kuroda, and Kamiya for winning the title for Game of the Year by EDGE. A true 10 out of 10.
dark souls 2.. not a bad game.. great even if you’re into hardcore difficulity.. but i’d never even consider this close to being number 2

Also, LittleBigPlanet 3 making the list is nice to see. It is the best LBP yet and was severely underrated. Sad that it suffered the same curse as most of Sony’s games and nobody got it.

I could never get into LBP i dunno, it has everything I like but I can’t get into it. Its fun, but not my tea, joy to others fun with game…I just wait here for GOW 4, and Jak 4

Little Big Planet 3 does not deserve to be on that list. It was mediocre at best and kinda boring and it didn’t set itself apart from the other LBP titles but hey to each their own
I’m going to assume you have not played the game because it definitely set itself apart from the other LBP games. It introduced three new characters that brought along new unique gameplay elements to each one (flight, speed, wall running, free-running, etc.).
A weapons/gadget wheel was also introduced. Grapple hooks, jet boots, plus other gadgets to take everywhere with you. Movements in a 3D space for adventure elements instead of just a side scrolling platformer was also a new addition to the series. The soundtrack was amazing.
The new creation tools are also much easier to handle. There were a lot of new additions to the game. It made it great, I thought.
The one complaint I kept reading from media outlets was about glitches and so on that made the game unplayable. I got it on day 1 and had no problems except for a cutscene where one of the character’s outfits changed. Maybe the day 1 patch fixed all of their complaints. I don’t know.
I love lpb. If Nintendo made a game just like lbp except with Mario everyone would shit bricks, but since its on PlayStation they ignore it and talk smack.

I have both Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition but I can surely tell you that none of those games are touching Bayonetta 2 in terms of quality, quirkiness, story, characters and gameplay. I’ve said many of times that Bayonetta 2 is one of the greatest games ever created and is the best title on the Wii U along with Smash Bros
Dragon age is fun and has lots to do but for its genre is just good.

Awesome! I’m so glad that finally Bayo 2 got a GOTY award, it deserves it so much! My only problem is why give Smash for Wii U a 8.0? In an era of glitchy and unfinished games, Smash has so much fun, content and perfection that is as good as Bayo 2, so I don’t know why they gave it a 8.0, also I would love to see more recognition for how amazing Smash for Wii U, most sites are giving the awards to Bayo 2 or MK8, when I think that instead of giving them to MK8 it should be Smash instead, Smash no matter how good it is, it always get low scores and never GOTY awards, I think fighting games is not the type of game that people like to give awards to or give good reviews, anyway, I’m glad about Bayo 2, I just hope just as Bayo 2 deserves so much recognition for its quality, I also hope Smash wins more awards and some GOTY awards. But I think Bayo 2 should get them more! :p

Yeah I never played assasins creed either so I don’t know if the stories connect , but Kingdom Hearts games are actually ok (I really like them). They aren’t putting out a KH every year though like ass creed and if putting out a broken trash game yearly for the sake of having something to sell over the holidays at the cost of gameplay , product quality is Ubi’s way for ass creed then I’ll continue to pass … (Not that one out of millions matters)

Yes. Other POS titles get overrated for what? 10 hours of so called “fun” and then burns out quickly? Bayonetta 2 needed more recognition and it gets underrated because 1. Its exclusive to Nintendo and 2. Because its Nintendo and yet they failed to remember that despite both PS3/360 sold more than 60+ million separately they think those numbers will be high in sales and yet help the first game fail miserably.
