Japan: Nintendo 3DS Sells 157K And Wii U Sells 27K

Well it turns out the Japanese charts have arrived and it’s been a positive week for Nintendo hardware. Sales haven’t gone up quite as much as expected given it’s the Christmas shopping season, but both formats went up compared to last week. The Nintendo 3DS sold 157,103 units and the Wii U sold 27,334. It was the PlayStation 4 which had the biggest jump thanks to Grand Theft Auto V. Here’s the best-selling software and hardware this week in Japan.

    I’m kind of disappointed in Japan right now. I mean, they actually spent money on an Assassin’s Creed during one of its worst years. I thought you all had more sense than that.

          Because I state the obviously true about Xbox DOne being a “fire hazard”? Try again fool because it did happen and its why spending $400-500 on a DRM DVR box that explodes only proves people are truly fucking idiotic.

    Now I like how one game made PS4 get from 15k to 68k. Sadly nothing like that can happen to Wii U though. That’s how you kick ass. Though Nintendo is too slow stupid to learn from rivals.

      With amiibo and using no gamepad, WiiU is more powerful than rivalz systms. Nintendo and devs dont wanna use Wiiu´s hidden powar because the system gets tired if it uses its super form, Nintrendo fans told me this.

          Lots of fans told me wiiu with no gamepad, supar console with power exceeding both Ps4 and Xbolls combined but the system uses lots of it energy hitting the max peak it can pull, fully using the 2gB Ram, flash memory and GPGPU which has 3 cores but the single core of WiiU is more powerful than single core of 8 core PS4, which makes wii u cores more powerful than Ps4 cores.

          The problemz is just that WiiU gets tired while being on supar mode after 10 mins and goes for a sleep mode to rest, that wont change until Nintendo releaseses amiibo that keeps Wiiu aeake.

            I love MK8 but they should have made it more like Double Dash. It makes sense with the Gamepad, Someone uses the gamepad and the other uses TV.

    a bit of a disappointment cause if japan can’t boost the wii U then Nintendo is in the sh*t. Pokemon and smash don’t sell as much hardware as GTA V at least for this week.

    PS4 outselling Wii U for months and managed to multiples its sell by 4.5 thank to GTA V (now I call that a system seller).

    If I go by the news, Nintendo will shot themselves in the foot by playing the collector card with amiibo.

      Amiibos have been selling out all over the world (especially the US) and the 3DS and the New 3DS continue to dominate in Japan and the Wii U has sold more than the PS4 in total sales so what makes you think that they are in the shit in Japan as you say?

      Well no shit Sherlock….smh. Both Pokemon and Smash have been out for how long now while last week was GTA V’s debut week in Japan. You do forget that Smash sold over 250,000 copies in it’s first day in Japan (and had the top spot mind you) while GTA V only sold 80,000 copies (and still barely outsold Smash by a 1000 copies) not to mention that GTA V also came bundled with the PS4 last week as well while Smash didn’t. So before you run your mouth next time learn to see what’s going on first

        No argue from me but My point was Nintendo going to fuck up a very good revenue stream.

        OK let’s start this point by saying we are talking about Japan’s sales only and nothing else. The PS4 came out more than a year after the Wii U. So overall the Wii U still outselling the PS4 but since September week by week the PS4 outselling the Wii and this week PS4 teach wi U a lesson.

        – 80K which means 80K PS4, for the first week. I call it a system seller like it or not.

        How much Wii U Smash managed to sell in Japan? It a clear and dry cut GTA doing great for Sony and the Wii U losing momentum. There are lot of reasons why the PS4 is not taking off in this country. One reason which is the same as the Wii U in Europe (except UK and Scandinavia area) is that PS3 (or the Wii for Nintendo) is doing great and the Japanese don’t see a reason to buy those hardware. As for the Japanese developers they are not in rush to develop for PS4 as they are in the west. But this is changing and soon PS4 will out sell the wii.

        So before you run your mouth next time learn to see what’s going on first.

        To be honest your argument clearly demonstrates you are the one who is blind and don’t see what’s going on.

        Are you telling me that Wii U is doing better than PS4? Are you telling me that PS4 will not keep outselling the Wii U? If the trend still going the PS4 will outsell the Wii U in 6 months or less. But hey I am the one who don’t see what’s going on… :-)

          At this point who really cares? It’s ridiculous to think that the Wii U will sell even half of what the Ps4 will. In Japan, or anywhere else. But that doesn’t matter. As far as I’m concerned Nintendo makes better games when they have a smaller user base. So it’s a perfect storm if you ask me. The Ps4 may sell more, but Nintendo will always have the better games. Mainstream products always outsell their higher quality counterpart.

          When other consoles sell less than Wii U the fanboys constantly use it as ammo.

          When those consoles suddenly start outselling Wii U every week they use the lifetime sales as an excuse

          When those consoles finally completely outsell Wii U the fanboys switch gear and attack the consoles for not having exclusives, only rehash shooter blablabla.

            I got no problem with good console/games like PS, GTA and so forth. I only hate Xbox because of its pointless existence and Microsoft attempting to monopolize the gaming market with their EA-like greed and DRM control.

      Nintendo shot themselves in the foot by selling a million Amibos is a few weeks? Analysts even go as far as to say Amibos will net the Company a Billion dollars in profit. Not gross income, profit. Nintendo is doing just fine.

      There is no reason to down Nintendo just becouse Sony starts to see some success in Japan.

    Holy cow, the Ps4 is a beast. It sold 1.5 million consoles In One WEEK! That thing is selling equal to the original Wii. It’s likely to sell close to 10 million consoles over the holidays… That’s unheard of.. It’s actually really incredible to witness a console sell at these type of numbers. I personally like the Wii U more, but you can’t knock the Ps4 sales. Makes you wonder if the Ps4 will ever lose momentum..
