We’ve yet to get any DLC characters so you’re assumption isn’t necessary correct or incorrect. For all we know the DLC we buy unlocks the ability to unlock the character. Or maybe we get this screen as soon as hit start after you install the DLC. We still don’t know, I am however leaning towards the ‘fake’ argument though.

There’s just two things that these pics have going for it. 1. Mewtwo doesn’t simply use the model Nintendo showed us or PM, and 2. This doesn’t have the obvious mistake of putting Rayman after Mii Fighters, this has Mewtwo and Rayman where they would be placed
I work with PhotoShop everyday at work and I can say making those images isn’t an easy job. Maybe some easy Clone Stamps and Quick Selections with Healing Brush Tools would work with it, but not easily and definitely would take more than 5 hours. I have used PhotoShop CS6 everyday for two years.
2 years? That much? Well maybe that explains why it would take you 5 hours to make something like this. With good enough HQ images I would say 10 minutes tops, but I have been using PS since 07 so like I said, that’s explains that. Its really easy to fake something like this. All you have to do is download the HQ Roster image that’s on the internet, cleanly edit Rayman in, save the image to a thumb drive, put thumb drive on a new ish TV, open image on said TV, take the picture at angle to create a sense of authenticity, and that’s it.
I’ve used Photoshop for 6 years. Believe me, it’s easy.

While I have no idea whether or not this is fake (It’s hard for me to immediately write this off as fake since this particular render of Rayman seems to be completely new) I do love the idea of Rayman being in Smash; there really isn’t a reason for him to NOT be in it.
I still hold to my old theory that Rayman was originally going to be in Smash (evidence being the seemingly out-of-place Rayman trophies in the game), by Sakauri decided to stop development on him when Ubisoft broke the whole “Rayman Legends will be a Wii U exclusive” deal, which was around the time the list was being finalized. I know Sakauri stated that all the characters that were in the game were finalized on the same day, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility that some of the characters on that list were cut, since that’s already made evident by the last-minute cut of the Ice Climbers. Anyways, it’s just a thought. I hope Rayman will someday have a spot in Smash.
That theory sounds pretty stupid when you take how long Rayman has been in success, Sonic and Pac-Man have games that didn’t make it to Nintendo systems, if the roster was finalized as early as 2012 or 11 Sakurai wouldn’t make the creative decision of just dropping him for that old joke. Maybe not a higher level, but a higher workload since you’re taking Calc and Algebra at the same time. It’s definitely a higher level than hs Algebra though. But I also think hs Algebra was easier because it was spread out through the whole year. Now we only have the length of a semester to learn the material.
I also took it during college with the same course structure. I took it during a summer semester lol. I did well though. Most of the class failed and all they did was complain that they didn’t get the score they wanted or how the professor was not fair, haha. I’m also taking Discrete Math by the way, which I’m finding harder than Calc.
Well, good thing those problems are resolved now. We still have Calc II, III to go lol.

If this is real, this is AWESOME. Sure, Ubi has been doing some downright insulting things to Wii U’s user base, but Rayman has consistently been great. Rayman 2 is still considered one of the best platformers every released and that’s been out since 1999.
The video was just taken down, making it much more likely to be real in my opinion.

Check out GameXplain, apparently they received a video of opening up the character menu screen and boom. Rayman along with mewtwo is there.

Tbh though, most people will always find something to complain about with anything.
I wouldn’t really care if he was low tier. I just wanna have fun playing as him in a Smash Bros title like I dreamed of during the N64 era.
I prefer the fun factor as opposed to the competitiveness in the majority of games I play.
I want Wolf back a lot more than Rayman incoming, but Ok.
Considering Fox already uses Wolf’s specials in his custom move slots (Just like how Ness already uses Lucas’s) the chance for that seems fairly low.
Not to mention Wolf, Fox and Falco all had the exact same Final Smash in Brawl which really didn’t make much sense.
But hey, you can still always hope though.
You don’t even have to look at Rayman to tell that this is fake. Just look at Mewtwo’s character model; it’s hideous.

I believe it. Looking at characters separate from the company’s actions (since Megaman clearly deserved a spot despite the fact that Capcom has buried and completely forgotten about him), Rayman and Bomberman are kinda the next two third-parties that should be included. I’m looking forward to this assuming it’s real. I’m more concerned with Smash being a great game and having a big, great cast of unique characters to play as. I agree entirely that Ubisoft shouldn’t get squat in Smash, but I’d also be hard-pressed to argue that Rayman himself doesn’t deserve a spot. It’s a difficult situation… but I still think he deserves it more than Snake did at least.

Because he has nothing better to do with his time? It’s an impressive amount of work and his attention to the little details is amazing, but he could have done literally ANYthing else with his time and he chose this for some reason. Trolls like this are why the internet has problems.

I believe it. It looks real to me and everything adds up (like why there are Ubisoft trophies in Smash Bros 4). Only thing that sucks is that Ubisoft doesn’t really support Nintendo consoles. Had Ubisoft been a better supporter, I would have been all for this.
I bet the decision to add him in the game was made years ago when Nintendo fans were praising Ubisoft for being supporters of the Wii U. How could the developers have known the praise would end and turned completely around? No sense in letting all their hard work towards creating the character go to waste. Might as well still release him.
I’ll use him. I think Rayman is a cool character. Just not too fond of the company that owns him.
Not to mention, Rayman’s creator himself was helping protest to have Rayman Legends release on the Wii U the date it was supposed to. So also try to think about how happy Rayman’s creator would be to have his character in Smash.
