Capcom Announces Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Has Surpassed 3 Million Shipments Worldwide

Capcom has announced Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate has now shipped over three million copies worldwide. Last October, the company revealed the action-adventure RPG had shipped more than two million copies in Japan, but – with the western release just last week – shipments have now scaled another milestone marker. The Japanese publisher states the numbers achieved include all retail sales, download cards and download sales on the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

While the shipped numbers for North America and Europe were not proactively announced, estimations based on previous sales approximate a loose 250k copies sold within the western regions. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate also had great sales within the UK chart this week and placed fourth, not far behind Nintendo’s beloved remake The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. If you picked up the game this weekend, let us know if you’re enjoying the hunt in the comment section below.

      1. Hey Matthew,

        Hope you don’t mind but writing in caps for a number of successive comments can be a bit off-putting to some readers. If you can tone it down by just typing in normal lower case, that would be great. :)

  1. I still haven’t gotten into MH and $40 is too much to risk at the moment. The fighting/traveling is just too slow paced for me. On another note I’m glad to see others are enjoying the game, and it’s selling well.

      Buy the game, you are missing out on one of the greatest franchises ever made. It feels like a Nintendo made game. Now Capcom Bring it to the WiiU.

    3 million Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate games shipped. 250 thousand pre-ordered. Nintendo is the only company amongst the big three making profit from all their consoles and games. Now Nintendo is rolling.

    F=ma.

    1. Monster Hunter 4 did reach over 3 mill in Japan but Monster Hunter 4G/Ultimate was only released in october as an enhanced version of the Original.

    I love this franchise & I want to buy it but part of me doesn’t want to because of Crapcom screwing us out of Resident Evil Revelations 2. But if the micro-transactions part is true, Capcom can keep that sequel off Nintendo consoles.
