Dragon Ball Z 2D Fighting Game Headed To The Nintendo 3DS In Japan

Dragon Ball Z fans should rejoice as news has come from Jump Magazine that there’s a new 2D fighting game based on the franchise coming to Japan. The new game is titled Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butōden and will be arriving this summer. You’ll be able to play through a range of over 100 fighters. These will be available in both one-on-one and team battles.

Players can employ “Ultimate Arts” finishing moves, and the game will feature unique layouts and stages. With “Z Assist,” Bulma and Chichi (among other characters) will provide support to players via Bulma’s inventions from Capsule and Chichi’s fury (which fills the screen with a giant speech balloon of her venting).

Thanks, Amanda

  1. They need stuff like this for the Wii U that’s Nintendo problem they have so much more games on the 3DS than the Wii U it’s a dam shame 3 games a month some times more and they be hit games and the Wii U would just have one fucking game and it’s not alway a hit game come the fuck on now that’s a dam shame Nintendo get better or you will never get to 20million

    1. Nintendo can’t exactly force other companies to make games for their systems. And Nintendo can only push out so many games at a time. If you’re a third party company what would you do? Make a game for the system that has sold 9.2 million or the system that has sold roughly 54.8 million? Keep in mind the game for the 9.2 million system will most likely cost more to develop than the one for the 54.8 million system.

  2. If only the wii u got Dragon ball Xenoverse.
But then knowing the Nintendroids, they will be like “It’s not made by Nintendo so we won’t be getting the game. Every 3rd party company rushes games out and they aren’t like our precious Nintendo games” which will make the online base for the game small.

    1. I’ve heard about that! So excited to see how it’s gonna turn out, I absolutely loved Gex: Enter the Gecko and Deep Cover Gecko. Hopefully, we’ll get something great out of this, really looking forward to the results.

Hello Anonymous. I don’t know who Katy Perry is, but please refrain from attacking the regular users. Lets work together to make this an environment that everyone can enjoy.

    1. Animation dbz had good animation for the time it was release but as story wise it was a mess but it is a shonen battle anime.

  3. Pretty awesome. I can’t tell much from the small screenshot but it looks something like MUGEN, only thing this looks better in terms of 2D character art. I’ll honestly admit when I heard the 3DS got a PS2 remake, I was thinking how awesome it would if it was 3D game like Dragonballz Budokai Tenkaichi. Most likely won’t happen, but I keep wondering how a game like that would perform on the 3DS hardware or even the New 3DS hardware.

      1. I like Gohan too, but there’s always been something about when Trunks kills Androids 17 & 18 that makes me feel like he could have been one of strongest characters had they continued the story. I would have loved to see another brawl between him and Goku when Trunks was older.
