We’ve all been waiting for a glimpse of the spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie and it seems as though it will all be revealed fairly soon. The team of ex-Rare developers who have formed PlayTonic Games will give everyone a look at their new project on Saturday at 4pm during a presentation entitled ‘A rare reunion: Rebirth of the 3d platformer’. This will all take place during EGX Rezzed which kicks off on March 12th,
“It was the fans of our past work who inspired the creation of Playtonic, so we’re delighted to be able to showcase our vision to them in person at EGX Rezzed – as well as a few cheeky details of our game!”

Yes. After being bought and worked like slaves, A few of them have gained independence. It has been too long. I’m excited to see what they can do when they are free to call the shots.

As much as I appreciate what Retro Studios has done with the Donkey Kong series, I really think that the guys from PlayTonic Games can give us the Donkey Kong game that us Nintendo fans have truly been looking for. Nintendo, if you guys are reading this, get these guys to make your next Donkey Kong 3D game

It was always said to be coming to PC. They said it they would like to see it come to Wii U. So console wise it could be Wii U exclusive. Much like Shovel Knight.

Yea I love old Rare games and Banjo Kazooie I only got to play through once sadly when I rented it from Block Buster.

They’d better not screw this up as badly as the generic artwork seems to indicate. It’s not like you can just press the “back” button on that fuck-ugly controller up there, and expect everyone to welcome you back with open arms.
Rare’s glory days was about a shitload more than just the right people. It was the right idea at the right time, in a creatively conducive environment, with the stars aligning at exactly that moment in time. The same may be said of any superlative artistic endeavour. Just going back to Nintendo isn’t going to fix that.
This is very true and why I remain cautiously optimistic. If they have the same love, passion and fire within to create wonders, then I will be happy. But if they are just running off of their name I will be livid. Give me a demo of what they do then I see if they got the magic or not, but googly eyes will never make me forget Nuts and Bolts. No human should watch their childhood beaten like that. Luckily I didn’t buy the game, but the experience was enough.

I don’t know what I’m talking about? Hmm GTA is top 5 for months. Smash isnt. Broken AC is top 5 for months. Bayonetta isnt. COD is top 5 for months. And yet PS4 has gaming droughts like Wii U and still PS4’s old ass tittles last longer in top 5 than Wii U software. Even before PS4 was at 10 million units Sold. So why doesn’t Wii U software you Nintendofans been saying, since PS4 debuted, Wii U tittles have the quality games yet struggling in top ten after a week?
Actually I’d say Smash Wii U has been holding up pretty well lately. It’s still in the top 20 on the charts since November
Ubisoft to blame? Yeah. But what’s the reason for Bayonetta 2 to not stay in top 5? What it’s a new ip? Yet Watch Dogs rated broken stayed in top 5 longer than Bayonetta 2 which was rated 10/10?
