Perhaps GameStop Italy are privy to more information than the rest of us as they have started advertising The Legend of Zelda Wii U with a spring release date. The date appears to be plucked out of nowhere as a spring release date hasn’t been mentioned by Nintendo and seems a little too soon. Still, GameStop Italy are listing the game for release this spring which doesn’t make too much sense at present.

Is that the actual box art? Also i expect it to be released after E3 along with Star Fox but it would be nice if it got released in the spring.
Why would nintendo have to wait for E3? If it’s done before that (which I doubt, but still) they could feature it in a couple nintendo directs, as usual, and then release it… I think hey’ve proven by now that they don’t have to rely on E3.
But so far very little material has surfaced so it’s probably safe to say that the release is still several months off anyway… spring sounds too good to be true.

There are way more people who attend/ watch streams of e3, than there are people who watch the direct. Nintendo has got to get their games out into the public & change their brand name- and the Directs, albeit: interesting and nice to have as a Nintendo fan, don’t really get Nintendo’s name out there. [Only] Nintendo fans watch them.
On another topic: I am glad Nintendo announces new games in their Directs. They’re keeping Nintendo’s name at the top of gaming website’s headlines by announcing new stuff like Majora’s Mask, Fire Emblem 3ds, and Xenoblade.
Well.. as soon as Nintendo announces something important in an ND it’s usually all over the media, so people would then watch it.
According to Nintendo up to a million people watch the Nintendo directs per week.
I don’t doubt that Nintendo will present it at E3, I just doubt that they have to rely on E3 to market Zelda Wii U to an audience.
Nintendo already did say they would feature Zelda Wii U in E3.

Highly unlikely. I can almost guarantee that Zelda U will launch November 20th, 2015. That’s the Friday before Black Friday, and in the past few years Nintendo has released a bunch of big name titles exactly a week before Black Friday. Skyward Sword, Super Mario 3D World, A Link Between Worlds, and Super Smash Bros for Wii U in 2011, 2013, 2013, and 2014, respectively. It makes perfect sense then that Zelda U will be around that time for 2015.
They generally release a big game mid year(NA) too,
Pokemon Black and White(2011),
Xenoblade Chronicles and Mario Party 9(Although was March) (2012)
DKC returns 3D, Animal Crossing: New leaf and Pikmin 3(2013)
MK8 and Kirby’s Triple Deluxe(2014)
Now while these are No LoZ (Other than Pokemon) they are still BIG Nintendo 1st party/second party releases, These are probably closer to Starfox hyped games, in a recent direct however LoZ Wii-U was said to come soon after Starfox U as they were at similar stages of development.
I would still agree that LoZ U will be after E3 and will probably release around September like Pokemon Z(This could also be november however since Pokemon ORAS was) likely will, They would want the game to be out a while before Black Friday so that people will buy it knowing about the game.
This year, it’s going to be Splatoon. They have put a lot of eggs in this Splatoon basket, I just hope that it works out for them…

Name any box art actually better, really, its good by comparison of ocarina of time, or really sny american box art. Most the time its just link with a gold background. Plus, where is the Subtitle?

I still don’t really believe this. According to Miyamoto, Starfox is supposed to be released before Zelda U. However, he has already stated that Starfox will be playable at E3, which in turn would mean that Starfox and subsequently Zelda U will be released sometime after E3.

It would be smart to release as soon as done and not wait a full year until fucking christmas if they want more people to buy a Wii U before the Christmas competition shows up. But Nintendo PR cannot be trusted. Especially when they don’t clear up these rumours.

I’m pretty sure Nintendo had an info graphic that said it was coming out the second half of 2015 which would put it in either the Fall or Winter for a release date.
Plus, when you think that Star Fox is coming out “before” Zelda for Wii U, it wouldn’t make sense to release Zelda in the Spring, because then they would have two huge franchise releases so close to one another, maybe only a month or two apart (In the spring…). Then what is supposed to be released for this holiday season???

Last year at the game awards nintendo said, that star fox will come out before the legend of zelda and star fox will first be playable at e3 this year as the stated in the direct in january.
