Some of you probably caught a glimpse of the new Fire Emblem game for the Nintendo 3DS during the Japanese Nintendo Direct that was broadcast at the same time as the US and European one on April 1st. As you would expect the trailer was mostly in Japanese so it’s great that some dedicated fans have translated it for us all. In Japan there will be two different versions of Fire Emblem If while here in the west we shall get one with the other coming as DLC.

Splitting up the game into two purchases feels like a cash grab. Couldn’t they have just jammed it onto one cartridge?
It all depends on how much content there really is. If there is as much content per side as Awakening, then its justified. Otherwise I’ll be pretty unpopular.

By the way, there is no confirmation one way or another on the West. I’ll only trust Nintendo’s words on that, not RPG site or whatever they call themselves.
It’s fucking dumb that we have to leave it to industrious fans to get these things done. Of course, nobody cares but the lvl. 1 weeabootakus but it’s the principle of the thing.

Little confused over that myself, does “If” happen to mean anything? Or does nobody know yet?

I think it represents all the choices the player can make in the game. Like, “what if…” this and “what if…” that. That’s my guess at least.
I’m planning on getting this, as FE: Awakening was pretty awesome once I got the hang of it.

I see now that their is 3 different paths and not just the 2 which were shown in the last N Direct. I don’t really like the idea of having the version exclusive content, but at least they are different. I hope they confirm the FE X SMT game’s release date as 2015 or 2016 soon. 2016 looks like a promising year for great games so far.

The If just makes it to confusing, but whatever. Honestly id like a new Advance Wars game.
The way I see it is it’ll pretty much offer 3 games in one. I’ll be buying it stateside so I hope we get that third DLC. Either way, I’m looking forward to this title.
I still have all my relationship notes from Awakening saved somewhere, this installment is going to get much more info it seems.

Actually, in America we will be getting the special edition of the game where you choose your path at chapter 6 (which is where the the differences between the two games starts) Japan will also be getting this edition at a higher price. However there will be DLC as a third campaign. Most likely one where you end the war between the two clans.
