Playtonic, the team made up of talented Rare developers, has started a new campaign on Twitter to try to get Banjo to star in Super Smash Bros. You may remember that Xbox chief Phil Spencer was all for Banjo appearing in the brawler and said he would be happy to work with Nintendo on this. Which character do you want to see in the Super Smash Bros DLC?

No one cares about their new mascot yet. It would be pointless to campaign for that.
Showing the new mascots would reveal how the game played so they’ve kept them under wraps for now.

What is going on with it?
According to one Reddit poll, Daisy managed to beat King K. Rool and Banjo (no joke). But this is not really accurate to the Ballot itself and there was a high chance that many trolls voted for her. Based on the earlier results from TheNery_One (Before Banjo had an explosion of support, Shovel Knight was actually the most supported third party character. In the 4Chan poll, there appears to be a situation similar to the Reddit poll but with plenty of “trolls” voting for Wonder Red.
So far, it;s hard to really tell what are the actual results of the entire thing.

I think Shovel knight will still get in though, because of how much the game helped nintendo with its eshop

What can I say, I want two of the best characters Rare created (K. Rool and Banjo Kazooie) in Smash. Just the seeing these two classic characters in Smash would cause any 90’s Rare fan to cry tears of joy. I’d figured it was something worth sharing since they need some form of publicity.
I wouldn’t mind Banjo but my priority is King K. Rool. After he’s in then I don’t care who comes in afterwards.

Ice Climber(s) isn’t in Smash 4 due to technical limitations, so unless they make a new version of Smash playable exclusively on the New 3DS that takes advantage of the New 3DS’s improved processing power to have a different roster, I doubt Ice Climber(s) will return.

I can see this happening. After all, Banjo got his start on the Nintendo 64. So he and Kazooie deserves to be included in Smash Bros. But, can Microsoft and Nintendo really work together on this?

Well let’s be honest I like Smash Bros. with or without Wolf but, the fact that for a sequel of a game they are cancelling previous characters additions (such as Roy, Wolf, Ice Climbers, Snake… even Young Link) annoys me to hell! Now I understand Roy fans.~
Except I do- Lucas was my Brawl main and he’s from one hell of a great game.
I’ve been wanting Banjo in Smash since Melee. There’s just so much they could use from their games to create an awesome unique moveset, plus they fit right in with the other characters, being ex-Nintendo characters anyway!
A rareware dlc pack with Banjo Kazooie, Conker, and Juno will be awesome idea.

I feel that King K. Rool, Bayonetta, and Isaac should be the main priorities. Some other likely characters are Banjo, Captain Toad, Inklings, Rayman, Bomberman, Shantae, Shovel Knight, and Dixie Kong.

I never really understood how Banjo and Conker didn’t automatically become Nintendo owned characters along with the rest of the cast of Diddy Kong Racing. Up until Rare was sold I am pretty sure they were considered by most to be Nintendo characters. still burns me how Nintendo let them leave with those series they made while they were in a partnership.
If not Banjo, these would be the top 3rd party characters I would want, in particular not having more then one rep per company (even though I adore Bayonetta)
-Bomberman (I guess technically hes now owned by Konami, but I still view him as being a HudsonSoft rep) Maybe could also get some cameos from Master Higgens and Bonk included with him.
-Cecil from Final Fantasy 4 as a rep for Square. I could be wrong, but of all the Final Fantasy games, 4 has been the one released the most times on Nintendo platforms. SNES, GBA, DS and then not to mention Virtual Console re-releases. Could play similar to his Dissidia version, swapping between dark knight and paladin forms (unless the 3DS couldn’t handle that). Could even include a skin swap for him that lets you play as Terra from Final Fantasy 6 that has her switch between her human and Esper forms. Their final smash could be Meteor. Also throw in Crono or a Dragon Warrior Slime as an assist trophy
-Earthworm Jim: A more recent pick for me, but the more I thought about it the more I want him in. He could be Smash’s version of Deadpool in Marvel vs Capcom 3, tons of 4th wall breaking dialogue and a balls to the wall bizarre fighting style. Head whip, ray guns, Snot in his back pack, head-copter and he could drop cows on people. Plus, then we could maybe get a bad ass remix of the “Anything But Tangerines” music from Earthworm Jim 2.
-Rayman: Don’t need to really go into detail, just has great potential (unless they make an amiibo). Would be cool to have a 3D model for him and then also a 2D form based on Origins/Legends.
-Bub & Bob from Bubble Bobble: I would really love them as a team like Ice Climbers, but I guess that would never happen. Could trap people in bubbles and their final smash could turn the entire stage into a game of Bust-A-Move. If transforms were allowed they could also become their human forms from Rainbow Islands. Also, as a Taito rep there is the potential to have a Space Invaders assist trophy added.
Unless Microsoft allows Nintendo to put the first Banjo & Kazooie game on the eShop as an N64 VC game, keep that fucking bear & bird far from Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U/3DS. The game is already lacking things that piss me the fuck off. I don’t need more stuff on it that also pisses me off.
