If you’ve been following Rodea: The Sky Soldier since the early days when it was scheduled to come to the Wii and Nintendo 3DS then you’ll certainly want to get your hands on the limited edition. It’s available via the NISA Online Store in the United States and is due for release on September 22nd. Here’s what you get if you decide to purchase it.
- Rodea the Sky Soldier (3DS or Wii/Wii U)
- 5.25″ x 7.75″, 35+ page hardcover art book
- 10-song, single disc original soundtrack with jewel case
- Collector’s box
- Bonus Item: “Key of Time” Pendant with Chain
Looks awesome.
Am getting it day one
Just preordered the Wii U limited edition. Eeeck! I feel so excited… it was $80 and I don’t really know much about the game, but I couldn’t pass up the exclusivity.
I feel special now. It’s going to look lovely now my shelf.
Beautiful art.
This game looks cool… But is it just me or is this sure overly obesssed with it? I feel like there’s more news posted about this then there is with any other game.

If it wasn’t for MNN, I wouldn’t have just bought it. So, I guess it’s a good thing they cover it a lot.
More Manga.
Definitely want that!
Think I’ll get the standard edition. Doesn’t look like a limited edition I would want personally. I just hope the game turns out to be good.
I liked the idea of getting a hardcover art book. Love those things. I preordered the Eyes of Bayonetta so I could look at it’s art too.
Glad they have it available for you to enjoy. Not my thing, but good to know others will like it.
Thinking of getting the Limited cause you get the wii version, is it really that much different? I remember reading you have to play all 3 games to get everything or something like that, can anyone clue me in before I purchase?
The WiiU/3DS versions of the games are completely different games from the original Wii version. The Wii version was developed by PROPE “Yuji Naka and his team” and is more of an arcade type of experience of getting high scores on stages. Has a unique controll scheme that uses just the wii remote and has 4 player local multiplayer. The 3DS and wiiU versions were developed by Kadokawa games and they took Yuji Naka’s game and made it into more of an single player adventure game. Game play wise, those two games are identical and im guessing they use a more traditional control scheme with buttons and analog sticks/circle pads
Like is it REALLY worth playing through all three versions? Are you missing out on a big part of the story or anything? Or is it just minor differences?
Is the limited edition only available through the NIS Online Store? I need to know as this will influence my purchase, if it’s available at EB Games or Amazon, I’ll just order it through one of those instead.
Just NIS.
I was that anonymous, I forgot to log in. Anyways, thanks a bunch, I’ll have to make sure I get a limited edition copy from NIS then!
Will this be released in NISAmerica’s European site or just the US? I hope we all get this, I may have to get it if it comes to Europe.

Rodea Wii U first-week physical sales figure from Dengeki: 2725
Meanwhile, Rodea 3DS didn’t chart at all…
I doubt that the sales of Rodea in the West may not exceed those of the Sonic Boom games worldwide…
I was 50/50 on getting this title, mainly because
+I get a Wii game along with my Wii U version (I love 2 for 1s)
+/-reminds me of Kid Icarus rail shooter even tho the trailer doesn’t show me much
-I have no idea what it’s about
But throw in ‘Limited’ Edition and I just impulse bought it and won’t look back. My back log of games just keeps getting worse and worse, but I couldn’t resist this…maybe I’ll open it up in 2016/2017 and play it.
looks more like scetch’s from skyword sword to me :/
Why is there a Wii port? Isn’t it suppose to be dead?
fuck you starnga. your dead :’D
It was supposed to originally come out for Wii. But then it was discontinued. So now the creators are bringing it back for the Wii U. As a bonus they decided to throw in the Wii version for free. Both versions play differently from what I heard.
Oh I see.
