A very lucky individual has managed to get his hands on the Silver Mario amiibo figure. You’re probably assuming right now that it is a fake. However, it would appear as though it is the real deal. The Silver Mario amiibo works with Mario Party 10 and comes complete with a Silver Token plus a Silver Skin.

He got it from some Chinese company that specializes in prototypes/scrapped things. Of course it isn’t going to be pristine, New-in-Box. Frankly, I’m surprised it came with the clear box part of the amiibo packaging at all.
Its fake the Gold Mario gives you a Gold Mario so the Silver one should give you a Silver Mario

If anything, it’s probably because this is an early production model (ie, made for design and testing purposes only, so they don’t need to go through the effort to make it look like a retail product) and somehow it got leaked into the public.

It’s a little surprising that any company would be willing to sell away prototypes and scrapped things such as this, since Nintendo first off hates when anyone gets a piece of them for free in any way shape or form and second they usually destroy or give the prototypes back. No? Well at any rate this is pretty neat. Packaging is freaky a bit.
I know I’ll never get the silver Mario amiibo. I never even seen the gold one appear in
Wal-Mart. Yet they had a Mario Party 10 display showing the gold Mario, with the words “Make This Easter Golden”. Screw you Wal-Mart and Nintendo!
I’ve already spray painted an amiibo silver which doesn’t look too bad. Same applies for gold, which I have a real gold on the way too. Just need to clean their bases! :)

I say fake. The silver coin said it was awarded from collecting all over coins…. he said he doesnt have any but then shows the TV with like a billion of them. Plus the box is weird. Sure it might be preproduction but then why package it? I dunno. Good for him if its real. Looks painted and he was just awarded a silver bonus coin for collecting all the amibos that turn your character silver.
