Little known fact: We pitched "The Ward" to Konami in 2007 as something that could have become a Silent Hill DS game.
— Jools Watsham (@JoolsWatsham) April 27, 2015
Dementium: The Ward is a first-person shooter survival horror game, released on the Nintendo DS in 2007 by Gamecock Media Group and developed by Renegade Kid. However, before they took it to Gamecock, they pitched the idea of a Silent Hill DS game to Konami, as a licensed horror. The pitch didn’t go very well though, Watsham said: “They were kind enough to meet with us, but the meeting only lasted a few minutes and ended with their [representative] saying they wouldn’t let a team like us handle the Silent Hill license.”
They weren’t put off though, and a few years later Renegade Kid approached Konami again with the idea of a Silent Hill DS game, armed with screenshots of a third-person game you can see below. Konami once again said no, saying: “They simply didn’t want to venture into the DS space with a horror title at that time.” Konami have recently cancelled their latest Silent Hills project after Guillermo del Toro left the production. It seems they may have missed a trick refusing a Silent Hill DS game. In the mean time, Renegade Kid are re-releasing Dementium: The Ward as a remastered version for the 3DS. Do you think there should be a Silent Hill title for the 3DS, or would horror simply not work for it?
Yes
That game had awsome graphics for a ds title! Maybe they can buy exclusive right to the series and its dev team when konami dies.
Yes please.
So not buying that lol! Allready lived it
u guys didn’t report the online Nintendo under maintenance yesterday……… Gamestop even told me online service was under maintenance yesterday :Ç . i’m Was trying to sell a 3DS but couldn’t cause it was under maintenance. no one here or other news didn’t warn me. not one site. Gamestop and i was piss off xD.
You could have checked your 3DS before going dumbass.
Nintendo fanboy language; one without logic or reasoning
I did actually, it was posted in a thread tho. : )
There is a helpful site for that (for next time), it lets you know upcoming work and if the servers are down for whatever reason.

>>>There should be new franchies and just end both Resident Evil and Silent Hill as both are just useless today>>>
Those monster nipples scare me.
I think Konami should’ve said yes because then there would be a Silent Hill game on DS. Konami should’ve been saying that yes as it’s part of our inventory we should make it. But you know game companies these days do whatever they want. Which sucks for a lot of fans out there that care about he franchise.
Can’t just make a game without knowing if it will sell. Besides, Konami didn’t want to hand over the license to a crew that could potentially not do justice to what Konami wants Silent Hill to represent.
Personally, I can’t stand the game. But to each their own.
Except CCC, it has no rights.
What game you can’t stand
Who’s Konami?
Didn’t I see this news on another game site called cubed8
“…their [representative] saying they wouldn’t let a team like us handle the Silent Hill license.”
Don’t feel bad, apparently they wouldn’t let Hideo Kojima or Guillermo del Toro or Norman Reedus or anyone awesome or well-known handle the Silent Hill license either. Unless you want to make a shitty movie sequel in 3D, then they’ll let anyone handle it and ruin it. \o/
I think it might be because Konami sounds like they are in financial trouble right now. They pretty much canned the project cause its budget was too hight and they have restructured the company recently taking off credits of star directors. Plus, most of the Konami staff that everyone is use to have left the company already and they recently took their name off the US stock exchange (something that happened to Midway before they went under).

Its a good thing this never became Silent Hill DS. Yeah it could’ve gotten more attention, but for the fact that its could’ve been named Silent Hill, some folks would’ve hated just cause it wasn’t like SH 1-3.
So its good that this game stood out on its own, without bring associated with something else.
They could port Silent Hill from Wii to new 3DS. That game was great.
