Latest Yooka-Laylee Stretch Goal Is For An Orchestral Score

After proving to be the most popular video game KickStarter ever with Yooka-Laylee, the team at Playtonic Games have added a brand new stretch goal. Their latest stretch goal is to provide the upcoming 3D platformer with a gorgeous orchestrated score. For the privilege they are asking for £1,500,000, which shouldn’t be too hard to achieve given the phenomenal response to their project.

Our next stretch goal will allow us to budget an orchestral score and time for our composers to record their music in an ideal environment. Any extra money we raise will of course go towards improving and polishing the game.

    >>>If it’s as empty and easy as that gameplay trailer once the game is released then I’m not interested>>>

            >>>I agree about 100%, just want to add that if the enemies are challenging as well then it will become a must buy for me>>>

            1. Oh yeah, the enemies as well! Now THAT could be a big step-up from Banjo-Kazzoie and Tooie since enemies weren’t really a challenge there. Maybe they could add weak spot, and you gotta think about how to beat them.

      1. I’d have to agree with NTQ-NX on this one. At the core, it comes down to the gameplay. Heck, I first played Banjo Tooie only 3 years ago, and that game got me stuck many times, having to explore all over the levels again and again, making me use any abilities I’ve learned all over the place to try and progress. Not to mention the confusing layout of levels, especially in the prehistoric level.

At the end of the day, the structure of the gameplay and level layout will be what truly will or won’t make this feel like a Banjo Kazzoie/Tooie title.

        1. The game does seem empty but this is only 3 months of work. Considering this is the same devs who made Banjo 1 and 2, there’s no way they’re gonna make this game’s worlds empty like what we see right now :) so you’re right

          1. Yeah, I know it’s early gameplay, without a doubt they will make it amazing. It’s just that Banjo Tooie (didn’t play Kazooie yet) had a special type of world layout, and I hope Yooka-Laylee goes by that.

    1. come on! The game is in development for only 3 months! You cannot expect a nearly completed game in 3 months! It´s actually quite amazing what they achieved in this limited period.

  2. I really hope this will not be the final stretch goal, they could easily double the number in the over 40 days left, and make some really great stretch goals!

  3. Wouldn’t it be amazing if people could put together that much money for people who need it. Tossing money at people to make a fokkin video game.

      1. Actually yes I have, I give money to charity, I donate food to shelters, iv spent my hard earned money on blankets for people sleeping in the cold, I’ve even been driving recently to my house, stopped turned around and went back to a store to buy food for a man that looked like he was dying sitting on the side of the road.

So yes, in fact, I stand up for those who can’t because it’s the gift God has bestowed upon me.

        Any other questions dad?

You want my social security number too? What a stupid reply.

          >>>So many deeds and details, it only proves you do not do such thing as sheep trying to prove their worth do these propaganda about their “angel nature”, only proves their worthlessness, and mentioning your pathetic god to make it seem more “believable” is pathetically desperate>>>

          1. Lmao, now who’s reaching? This reeks of overkill and trying way to hard, im sorry you can’t handle my nature and God filled soul. It must be hard not having one huh?

            1. Nintendo Tetrarch Quadramus-NX

              >>>Your nature is nothing more than a slaves since you need to worship something that’s bigger than you and also an illusion>>>

              >>>While there are no strings on me, ipso facto, I’m a true sentient being, you’re just a tiny pointless sheep as your precious god made you>>>

                      >>>Considering you reply with the same garbage now in the last 5 replies you’ve left, only proves your defeat was beyond satisfying for me, I love it when a plan comes together>>>

      >>>Said the one that wants useless Pikmin pins, CN rewards and so on for free, so cattly>>>

      1. Haha! ^
Is that seriously the only thing you could think of? Normally I’d go on a pwning spree, but I think you do most of it for me. I didn’t even mention paying for them moron, nice fail.

        All HAIL CAPTAIN CATTLE COMMANDER!

: ). This old HP Pavilion dv6000 refuses to die! What a computer, so loyal to stupidity.

              1. Pathetic CCC. I expect higher intelligence from a computer. Have a great day CAPTAIN CATTLE COMMANDER! I know I will. : )

  4. I think they could’ve given the orchestra a higher priority by throwing it into the goals far sooner. We funded stuff like a RAP and a Making Of Video and a Let’s PlayTonic instead.
Orchestral score adds so damn much more to the game.

  5. As long as all the money is going to the game… They better not be all of a sudden driving around in new BMW’s and Escalades… I donated 15 bucs. cause I wanted a physical copy when it’s finished, and I want to see this kickstarter succeed. I just hate that sometimes these guys use the money for other reasons than intended… Not saying they have..

  7. If they earn 2 million more, they can add voice acting / pocket more money like Mighty #9!! :D

I have a feeling these devs (so far…not sure yet) seem to putting more into the game with the more money they get. If they go the path of Mighty #9 and are like, “We need another 2 million for a new boss battle!” I’ll quickly become dis-interested.

      1. Sadly that’s probably on Nintendo. I really wish they would just allow it for all their Wii U and VC games. I ended up recently buying the Hori fight pad Gamecube replica and it’s better than a pro controller, but still not as comfy as the true gamecube. So it’s not like they are forcing me to buy pro controllers, I can just buy the cheap $17 alternative. But I would buy more 1st party gamecube controllers if they allowed us to use them. So they are just losing money to people like me essentially. They may make some money off the hori pads, since they licensed them, but I would imagine they would make more off people buying their own controllers.

    1. Let us get the orchestra and a boxed Wii U version and then I’ll be ok with people stopping lol.

    2. That’s a terrible idea. Profit motivates people to make games. If it makes money they’ll make more. Win win.

  8. To hear Grant and David have their way with an orchestral soundtrack…

I don’t think my ear drums could handle the awesomeness.

Imagine if the developers turned around and were like,

“JK!!! All this money is being donated to the Help For Haiti fund.”

    Would you even be mad?

    1. It would be a lie so most definitely. No problem with wanting to donate to a good cause, but to trick people is just not cool.

  10. Holy crap, that’s freaking awesome!! :D I love orchestral music, especially in video games! Now I’m now even more hyped for Yooka-Laylee! ^^

  11. Am I the only one who when I saw the picture, thought that laylee was a helmet, yooka’s head was the arms and his ( or hers) body and legs were just legs? Scroll back up and look at it
