Yooka-Laylee Reaches £1.5 Million Kickstarter Stretch Goal

Looks like the recent announcement of the new Yooka-Laylee character, Trowzer, gave the Kickstarter the final push it needed to surpass its final stretch goal of £1.5 million. Wow! It just never stops. So they’ve put up a new stretch goal: ‘£2,000,000– Payback Time!’ If they reach this, they will continue to make DLC after the game is released, which will be free to all backers. More Yooka-Laylee! Some might criticise this new trend of promising DLC before the game has even come out, but they emphasise the point of focusing entirely on finishing the game first. What do you think of the success of Yooka-Laylee?

Thanks, Nintendo Impact Gaming!

£2,000,000– Payback Time! As a massive thank you for your generous support– when, and only when, we’ve finished and released the final game, then we’ll proceed to make some additional content that will be free of charge for all backers!

*additional funding also helps us to continue to polish the game to the Nth degree

    1. Why make another game for babies? I hope they don’t put this on the PS4 nobody buys baby games on the ps4.

  2. Playtonic’s efforts to make this game good are slightly impressive, however, we at IGN always believe that we should wait until the final product before giving final judgement.

  3. It almost makes me want to back them, but I’m just waiting to blow my money on preordering Xenoblade X

      1. So long as you’re donating enough to earn a copy of the game, I’m guessing. But perhaps they do mean every backer, even if you didn’t get the game? For when you do get it?

I’d place my bets on a backer reward so that you actually get the game at any rate.

  4. I think it’s safe to say that a LOT of people really want this game. I hope it turns out great. For everyone’s sake.
