Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Kickstarter Getting $3,000,000 Wii U Release Stretch Goal?

bloodstained_ritual_of_the_knight_kickstarter_stretch_goal_wii_u

Koji Igarashi, the man behind Castlevania, launched a new project called Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Kickstarter with a goal of $500,000. He’s currently sitting on $2,507,267. Wow! However, the highly popular game isn’t currently arriving to Nintendo systems, but that could change. On their Kickstarter page, there is a stretch goal listed for $3,000,000 that you can’t quite make it out, but fans think it shows the top of the Wii U logo. This might mean a Wii U release of the game if they get the funds! Although not confirmed, it seems highly possible. What do you think of the image above?

Thanks, paidenthusiast

    1. Because the engine they want to use is Unreal Engine 4, which the Wii U can’t run. IGA wanted to make the best game he could with that first.

      1. Epic Games already stated that the Wii U can run Unreal Engine 4 it’s just that they themselves wouldn’t implement nor support it natively and anyway there are no excuses since Unreal Engine 4 is free to use so who’s to say that the Wii U version of Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night won’t use it as well?

  1. Probably because so many people put them in their place about the BS excuse they gave about not putting it on Wii U

    1. Not really. Iga had mentioned that there was “a remarkable treasure hidden in the castle basement” when he talked about Nintendo platforms in relation to his game. As we can see, the stretch goal is depicted to be in the basement. It was planned all along, obviously.

      1. No, it’s basically “Uh well…. okay, here’s you stupid Wii U port, I’m getting to rich for this shit”

        1. So basically, he sucks when he brings the game to the WiiU, but he also sucks when he doesn’t bring it to the WiiU? Okay then.

        2. So, in other words, you’re delusional, because what Namie said is exactly true from the website. He planned it from the start.

        3. Ridley 4 Smash DLC!

Actually, that was there when MNN first posted an article about it. He actually even hinted at it in the article. …Now I owe the guy an apology for my comment on that article…..

    1. Reality is Dolphin Revolutionized Cafe NX

Of course, this is the kinda game WiiU or any game console out there SHOULD have.

  2. So let me get this straight: They could make the game for PS4, XBox One and PC for 500.000$, but for the Wii U they need 6 times the amount?!
We better get (at least) 3 times the content! :/

    1. Nah, it’s mainly because they were too lazy for not putting it on the Wii U but due to the backlash and some of the money disappearing because of their lame excuse, they decided to make it the next stretch goal.

    2. IGA stated that he wanted to make the best game he could with UE4 first. So it’s been previous obvious than he intended to put all his ideas into that version before putting the Wii U port on there, since it will likely be outsourced to another company or team to work on.

    3. That’s not how it works. The PS4 and XB1 are very similar to each other, in terms of architecture, which means they can develop one version of the game and make it work for 2 (or 3, if you count in the PC) platforms without having to spend much extra time + money for optimizing it for each platform. The WiiU has a different architecture than the other platforms, that’s why the developer would have to invest extra time and money to port it to the WiiU. His explanation was, he’d rather spend that extra time and money, that would need to go towards the development of a WiiU version, to make the game bigger and better. It seems like 3 million dollars are enough for him to both make the game as big/good as he strives for and develop a WiiU version. The WiiU version, obviously, is not going to get extra content; it’s not like all of those 3 million dollars are going towards the WiiU version, after all.

  3. if that is the Wii U logo then it’s a pretty lame goal. I’m perfectly fine playing this game on the PC with a 360 controller. Maybe the Wii U gamepad would be nice to have for inventory management but it’s not that important.

    1. It works for people who own a Wii U, don’t own an XB1/PS4, and don’t like PC games.

      People like me.

    2. ” I’m perfectly fine playing this game on the PC with a 360 controller ”

Umm…..sorry…….but you don’t speak for the Wii U owners who don’t own the other platforms that this game is coming to and how is it lame that

      1. continued*….the Wii U is getting a stretch goal? Why does the Wii U get hated on when a mature themed or a ” hardcore ” 3rd party game comes to the platform like GODDAMN IT……..smh

    1. Peanut Butter Kit Kat

It doesn’t, they’re asking for 250k to port it to Wii U. Considering that Ubisoft stated that porting AAA games to Wii U for 1M is pretty cheap, then its not a great deal of money.

      1. pink0crystal0midbus

If it only costs 250k to port it, why is it the last stretch goal? They should have the other console versions be the first stretch goals and any extra features come after. That way they ensure the game gets out to as many people as possible.

        1. Because the developer’s primary goal maybe wasn’t to bring the game to as many platforms as possible, but rather to make his visions and dreams about the game reality first.
It’s been explained so many times, but people still don’t want to understand, it seems.

  4. This is from FAQs:

    “What about Nintendo and/or handhelds?
Our budget left us with two options: Build the biggest, most beautiful game we can, or make sure it runs everywhere from the start. As things stand today, we can’t afford to create the two separate versions of this game that would be necessary to make it run on every console. That said, we’ve heard legends about a remarkable treasure hidden in the castle basement…”

    You got it right?

  5. Like I said before, I’m backing this game. It looks pretty great to me. I mean, I already own the platform it’s coming to so I could’ve played it anyway, but on the bright side, at least my money will actually help towards getting a Wii U version of the game out. That way, no one has to miss out and we can all play.

  6. Looks like Wii U owners can stop hating on the game and shut up about it not coming to the system… And maybe even support it… Oh wait, nevermind. Fans still hate on it.

  8. Nice to go back to the good old days when Mega Man, Rare, and Castlevania were some of the biggest things to play on Nintendo consoles

  9. Someone needs to learn to pay attention. At one point when he was ASKED about a Wii U version, he mentions a secret in the castles basement!
That statement from him, and the image above, is proof that yes if they meet 3 million, it will get a Wii U port!
He’s just leaving it as a bottom of the barrel kinda thing.
He’s more worried about everything else in the stretch goals first, Wii U last if they make it that far.

I… owe an apology. Sorry, Igarashi, and thank you. Now if you hit that 3 million, you better not screw us over!
