As we found out earlier this year, Sega is focussing its efforts now on the mobile and PC space and they seem to be having some success. The company has announced today that they’ve seen 100 million downloads for their free-to-play Sonic Dash title for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The runner already has 14 million monthly players, which is quite a substantial user base. This all seems to bode well for Nintendo’s entry with DeNA into the smartphone market later this year.
Sonic Thrives On Mobile With 100 Million Sonic Dash Downloads

Sonic Colors was awesome and the Advance games are pretty fun as well. Of course, there are the obvious Bad Apples, *Cough* Sonic 06. Simply Put, MOST of the games since have been below average, but not all of them…
I thought Lost World was pretty good, and despite what everyone says I also enjoyed Boom

100M download does not means $100M. it free to play or buy to win. So even if you have those number it does not reflect how much Sega has made with this title. Saying that it would be interesting to have the info

The day that Nintendo announces “We’ve had 5 billion downloads” but only made a few hundred thousand $$$ off it is hopefully the day we stop using free download metrics to show success. Money talks, free downloads are smoke and mirrors. But I suppose for Sega, at least that is cheap marketing.

Sega didn’t destroy the Sonic franchise, most games except Boom and 06′ range from OK to spectacular, specially Sonic Unleashed, Colors and Generations.
They actually did. The fact they lent the series out to anyone with a computer & placed strict deadlines on them to release the game they were making still puts the responsibility for it’s destruction into Sega’s hands. Destroying the franchise yourself & letting someone else do it for you is the same thing.
The game sucks.

IMO they should have just taken the classic Sonic stages from Generations and made new games based on those. For the first time since the Mega Drive those sections actually felt like a legit successor to those games.

Hey now! Leave Shadow the Hedgehog alone! I enjoyed it for the fact they were trying to make Shadow feel less like a carbon copy of Sonic the Hedgehog. Now if the game had you playing Sonic throughout, then I could understand people getting pissed about that game since giving Sonic guns would be like giving Mario guns or making a futuristic Zelda game where Link is using the Master Desert Eagle instead of the Master Sword.

To those casual gamers looking for some time to kill in hospital waiting room for your doctor appointment, free games are perfect way to kill your times.
