ZombiU was an exclusive Wii U launch title that looked promising but didn’t generate any profit for Ubisoft, in turn dismissing any plans for a sequel. But now, the guys at Unseen64 have suggested that Ubisoft may be turning to port the game over to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, putting an end to its Wii U exclusivity. If this is true, they’re going to need to do some major brand and gameplay changing. You should always take rumours with a pinch of salt, but the Unseen64 gang have rarely been wrong so far.
>>>And then they say the empire is the traitor, the Ubisians will kneel before I die>>>
listen the truth is ps4 and xbox one libray at the moment is so pathitic, they take a game they made purposly sell bad to ridicule and say wii u had a bad launch. lmao The gaming industry in it self becoming a waste of time just like lottery tickets. Noting but a bunch of thefts
So when exactly did Ubisoft start hating Nintendo?
>>>When they got infected by the Xbot disease and when they expected 3 million sales on the Wii U despite selling fairly good on it>>>
Also, like most 3rd parties, Ubisoft focuses mostly on AAA (which is expensive & requires DLC), photorealism, only a few genres, multiplatting (which demands a large degree of parity), & their Uplay.
But Ubisoft & most 3rd parties used to make games that not only fit Nintendo (Buck Bumble, Red Steel, 2D & 3D Raymans), but all consoles (Prince of Persia). Used to be about gameplay rather than graphics, & power was more relative to how it was used & for what audience. Now, it’s more about technical execution, catering to PC/PS/X, & über profits w/ fewer risks & deviations.
*but all consoles (Prince of Persia, Beyond Good & Evil, even 2D & 3D Rayman)…
>>>Indeed, the Ubisians used to be one of my favorite ones before they got corrupted>>>
When the Assassin’s Creed ports sold like shit, more or less.
Ubisoft never “hated” Nintendo. They never really bothered to put their big games like Assassin’s Creed on Nintendo systems until the Wii U showed up. They took a chance and it didn’t work. Games didn’t sell well enough. So now they’re back to not making anymore AAA games for Nintendo like they used to. No hate. It’s just business.
>>>If they had released a trilogy version of Assassin’s Creed when the third was made then it probably would have gained more popularity among Nintendo fans>>>
Even before the Wii U saw its light of day.
Called it. It was the only logical choice.

I don’t get it?
ZU was OK at best. cool idea but it completely played like shit moment felt sluggish and looking around was a nightmare if always felt like the camera was drawing to look up a Lil but not saying it would move up on its own…. it just felt like the camera was making look a Lil higher then I was actually looking so it never really felt good playing. Fuck thus game and of course fuck ubisoft
>>>And the “boss” was disappointing, you could just stand in a corner and hit it with a bat>>>
Scared the daylights out of me when I first encountered that zombie. Had to pause the game and recover. Lol.
>>>It had a great atmosphere in that place, too bad the battle wasn’t good at all>>>
I loved it. It was the best survival horror game in ages and fun for multiple playthroughs. Fucking sad Nintendo fans won’t ever see another.
>>>The replay value is almost non existent once you finish the game>>>
I’m taking this with a truck load of salt.
I really liked the game but I felt like it could have done with a lot of improvements, still it was pretty much the only Ubisoft game that looked good on the Wii U.
That and Rayman Legends.
Agreed. ZombiU was definitely a rough game, but it definitely deserves more appreciation than what a lot of people are showing it (or rather not showing it).
I think Nintendo should definitely try and get Ubisoft to make a sequel for the Wii U… Mainly because the Wii U could really benefit from more appropriate games, or rather game that fit the gamepad. Rayman Legends ia a fantastic game for many reasona, and its gamepad functionality is only but one of those reasons.
Personally I think it would be a waste to port it to the other consoles at the moment. If they do, I don’t expect high sales to be honest.
>>>Once they sell badly on the other 2, somehow they’ll still blame it on Nintendo fans>>>
If its true (I really hope not) I’m gonna store my copy away in a box and forget i even touched it , and secondly the game was designed specifically for use of the Gamepad..
Which means next to nothing. Detection movement can be assigned to a thumbstick when both triggers are activated and the pause screen can just show the wide shot of your surroundings behind you inventory items.
Not really a difficult port
I enjoyed the game. It had a great atmosphere, fun ‘survivor’ concept and to date is probably the only game to actually use the gamepad well. That said, the graphics were bland, the in-game physics were ridiculous (hit a zombie with the bat while it’s on stairs and see what happens) and the difficulty was all over the place at times. Not a great game, but I still say it was a solidly good one.
Pikmin used the gamepad extremely well…
Yeah, ZombiU without the GamePad…
Who cares honestly? ZombiU wasn’t really /that/ great, it didn’t have the gameplay and came out towards the end of the ‘zombie hype’. Everything in the game, besides playing it with the gamepad had been seen before. Releasing it again, or a sequel isn’t going to get them sales.. I don’t understand what Ubisofts problem is.
inb4 whatever comes of this sells like shit.
Also, gotta love how Unseen 64 keeps believing that this rumour is true XD
Glad I’m not subscribed to him, he does barely any research and can’t even take a rumour with a pinch of salt.
Kind of a poor choice to port over to other consoles. It wasn’t even received especially well and it relied on the gamepad for a lot of the gameplay.
This would most likely be a very gimped version of the game. Now, if it were being completely redone, then that might spell good news for the game as they could fix the graphics, the gameplay issues, and other problems that people had, but if it’s just a straight port made to work on PS4 and Xbox One, it will most likely be terrible. Probably even worse than the Wii U one (at least, in the reviews, it will say that).
Smart on a business perspective.
We all saw this BS coming.
They DID make a profit, just not as much as the wanted, ZombiU was a LOW budget game meaning $1 million was it’s budget. When you look at the price of the game and the amount that sold physically and digitally even if Ubifail only made 50% of the profits they still made over $2 million so they doubled their money.
I will not be surprised if this rumor is indeed true. This would just be another way for Ubishit to fuck Nintendo in the ass again without a generous reach around.
